  1. New website

    Well, it doesn't work for me at all. I use Opera, and I have to open the source to find any links.

    On principle I hate websites that requires specific browsers, or requires all the very latest in updates
    to even find the info I'm looking for. They should restore the old site ASAP until they have made
    something decent.

    I understand the urge to keep things fresh, but if the change is not for the better, why bother?  :roll:

    Three years ago, when M&B was crappy and my machine crappier, I'd spend 45-50 minutes on one battle!
    I didn't spend gazillions of moneys on upgrades to play with CGA-graphics, you know.
    I need to play M&B for hours on end.
    It keeps me from hiding behind corners and clubber random pedestrians for fun, money and internal organs.
    I've never done that since I got M&B, but you want to take that away from me, don't you, YOU MEANIE! :evil:

    Are you 100% positively certain that you are playng 0.955?
    I know I've played the wrong version before, it's an easy mistake to make.
    If you know you're playing 0.955, did you
    a) Do a full install?
    b) Not play an earlier savegame?

    Your post is kinda disturbing because this stuff is supposed to be fixed.

    The "Matrix-effect" is an old issue. I've learned to look at it with amusement.
    The bestest fun is when you get a really long flight. Oweeee! :grin:

    Spawn points in Balanli needs fixing. Just did a rescue village quest there and all parties spawned in a big lump.

    Hjemmesiden pleier å oppdateres hver gang en ny versjon blir ansett å være stabil. Det har vært mange problemer med 0.95x,
    men den nye 0.955 virker lovende.
    Det kommer nok en oppdatering snart. Dessuten skal spillet være ferdig om tre måneder.

  7. Shields.... Down? And why are my archers attacking that corpse?

    I thought I detected some improvement from 0.903 to 0.95x, but I agree,
    it's still the most annoying bug in M&B. I cross my fingers for each new version, they'll have to address it at some point.

    Does anyone remember in which version it was introduced? Was it 0.8x or 0.75x? I know it was OK in 0.632.

    Another thing, has the mounted AI deteriorated? The "ride-up-to-a group-of-infantry-and-poke-at-them-while-they-frantically-attack-my-horse"-behaviour got better at some point, but seems to be back, or am I imagining things?.

    I don't get the stutter, with or without music disabled. I did a full install, new character.
    Edit: I get the stutter with a .953 savegame.

    The message flooding makes the game very difficult. I think I'll take the opportunity to disable the reticle too, just to be a hardass.  :cool:
    We need a fix for this ASAP, as it nearly impossible to find other bugs under these conditions.

    So as to not technically spam this thread:

    - Still wafer-trees
    - Still bushes in the firing range
    - Still no sound when the pots break. (I actually find this very disturbing. Like going temporarily deaf.
      Maybe they are goat-bladders and not pots. I'm just saying there should be some kind of sound.)

    Training, nothing new, but still:
    1) When doing ranged training - crossbow, you have to be very quick with the last bolt. Most of the time I don't get to release the shot before the game exits to the result screen.

    2) If the targets are pots, shouldn't we get a sound when they break? It's not as if it's difficult to find soundbits, there are crackpots everywhere.

    3) The trainer is a lazy s.o.b. I'm pretty sure clearing the range of shrubbery is in his job description, but often the targets are obscured by growth. Uncool.

    I have got a new .953 game running for a while now, and again all the caravans are running between Narra and Ichamur, ignoring all other towns. Tried looting one headed for Ichamur, all I found was salt, some iron and various food items. Nothing that could make a profit, but then of course I am naïve regarding how M&B economy/caravans work.

    Can anyone confirm this, are there perhaps other "loopy" routes?

    Some minor points:

    - I was wondering why all the caravans seemed to have disappeared from my game, and it turns out they all run between Narra and Ichamur, and have been for some time. Both towns "openly flaunts their great wealth" while all other towns are poor or "unremarkable". Something is clearly not right.

    - I captured Rivacheg, expressed no interest in it, and it was given to another lord. Now, whenever I run into lord Meriga, presumably the previous owner, he claims that I "hold Rivacheg, my rightful fief. I hope you will give me the chance to win it back."

    - The reward for bringing a lord some specified prisoners is very low.
    It can be a very demanding task, so you'd think they would be more grateful, especially when some relative's life is at stake. Some larger improvement in relations would be in order, methinks.

    - The capture spy quest: As others have reported, one of them may disappear. This seems to happen if you let the two parties meet up.
    If I capture the spy first, and then the spymaster, everything is fine.

    Sometimes the travellers in taverns will tell you where a missing companion is.

    The elusive "script: game_get_item_sell_price_factor" error that everyone's reporting;
    I have a savegame with it.
    Reply to this or PM me if you want it.

    Edit: No need, here is how to reproduce the error:
    1. Defeat a party of looters, or a party that has defeated you and taken a food item from you.
    2. Get/recover food item
    3. A mouse-over of any food item in your inventory will now show a value of 1 and display the red messages as long as you hold the cursor there.
    4. This will last until you enter a merchant, whereupon the error disappears and prices return to normal. (I tried goods merchant in a town, don't know about the others)

    The annoying white flicker I reported earlier is an image of the sky.
    It turned up in battles too, and a couple of times just as the fps stalled for enemy reinforcements. That is how I got to see what it was.

    EDIT: Managed to capture the flicker at spawn. At night, so black flicker instead :smile::


    Also, the key==key assertion error that people are getting is reproduceable.
    Happens to me every time a caravan I have escorted reaches its town of destination.
