  6. SP Musket Era Modern Boer War - Mod

I don't think that The Second Boer war is good for mod of M&B at first because it was no real cavalry warfare there, but M&B is mainly focused on mounted and/or HtH combat. Boers used horses but only for transportation as riding infantery/ Boers even didn't used foot HtH combat and baginets so you will miss 75% of M&B gameplay.

what battle? when? where? who?please state the facts.

The most important cavalry battle took place on August 31, 1920, near the village of Komarowo near Zamość between Red First Cavalry Army under Command of Komandarm Semyon Budyonny and Polish Cavalery under command of General Juliusz Rómmel. The battle was a complete disaster for the Russian 1st Cavalry Army which sustained heavy casualties and barely avoided being totally surrounded. After that battle, the 1st Cavalry Army's morale has collapsed and the army which was one of the most feared of the Soviet troops was no longer considered an effective fighting force. Because of the numbers of forces involved, the Battle of Komarów is considered the greatest cavalry battle of the 20th century. Along with the battles then taking place in south Russia, this was one of the last battles fought mostly by cavalry units, in which traditional cavalry tactics were used and sabers and lances played a vital role. Because of that, it is sometimes referred to (by Poles) as "the greatest cavalry battle after 1813" and the last cavalry battle.

yes but were they decisive battle victories, and achieved without the support of other elements.
Beersheba IS the LAST successful CAVALRY ACTION to be undertaken. and IS historically recognized  as such.....

The last sucessful uses of pure cavalry are Russian Civil and Pusso-Polish wars just a little later (2-3 years) than Beersheba. In 1920-30 it was realy "cavalry" warfare in Centra Asia and Mongolia but it was small scale one.
In WW2 Soviets had some sucessful examples of use of cavalry units, but they were normally supported by some tanks and normally fight as mounted infantery using they horses only for transport.

In real life there are also always civilian merchants who deal with the military. I think they would be a good source to supply non essentials, morale boosting items, food and perhaps, if they deal with all sides, weapons and ammunition from other factions (For that wonderful Swadian G98 snaipr rifle you 'Found' and do not want to give up.) They also could offer special versions of regular items. Officers would often have equipment and especially weapons custom made, which they paid for themselves. Private soldiers would also sometimes purchase pistols or other weapons and items for themselves, either because they were not issued them, or did not like the ones they were issued.

I absolutely agree with you - we need some real trade like Rusian Pre-WW1 officer was armed with Nagant 1895 revolver but he was permitted to bye some auto pistols like Mauser C96 or Luger on his own and carry it instead of Nagant 1895. Some delitious food also can be bought from civilian merchants/locals etc. But I think it is hard to have monetary and barter sistems at the same time so I propose to have barter and money (gold coins or banknotes) like inventory items in the same way like "bone" in Paleolitic or like special honour points in Onin No Ran or Ancient China Mod. I prefer the first way because we can use honour points as money to conscript high-tier or unique toops.

Another idea that in Army we have no trade - supply services provides ammo, weapon, uniforms etc but some bribery or exchange always took place - for example bottle of wiskey  presented to supply officer gives you some better staff or you can exchange extra rifles for ammo with your another platoon commander. So may be use something barter sistem from Paleolit mod?

Legions Extended has great inventory items like supply mounts, boxed military rations, tents ets. Also it will be great to change old-good supply chest while in combat on WW1-Stile ammo crate or ammunition cart.  May be to make some encounter with supply cart like traders from Onin No Ran.
  12. SP Native Modern Calradia -1914-Götterdämmerung (Not Released)(Needs Riggers)(Updated 05/9/08)

About trading goods - everybody needs ammo, alcohol and food. But there are more interesting things. For example one american diplomat wanted to cross Russia in 1918 from Eastern China throu Siberia, Ural, European part of Russia and Ukraina. The country was in chaos of civil war, there were dosen of different local gouvernements and warlords, money were nothing,  the normal way of trade was barter.  He needed something for  barter sutable enough on the whole territory, in any prosperity, political and other conditons, but some common and cheap - not gold or something expensive just not to be killed and robbed. He choose nails... simple nails, different in size and material. He bought full railroad cart of different nails, another for himself and began his travel across fighting ex-Russian Empire. He was sucessful - peasants and workers, merchants and officers, Reds, Whites, local powers and bandits - they all were interested in nails.

  15. Crusader Mod

Interesting bug/feature that you can rearm your troops ingame, not only 3 NPCs but all using "let me check your equipment". For example my Calif guards had heavy arab armor, sniper crosbows etc... and while battle with an enemy with the same troops they also are rearmed in the same way.

Another idea to create items which increase some skills like books in native - binoculars (simple and artillery), compass, map?, cart for inventory etc. Also 1866 Mod team have modelled Mauser 1896C Broomhandle pistol - it is good addition for the mod and my favorite pistol .
