  1. Can anyone recommend a mod for me about equipment and skills?

Does no one here take note of or care what I said about Craftmod?  You know, trying to answer Chevaleresque's request?
  2. Can anyone recommend a mod for me about equipment and skills?

Maybe what you are looking for is called 'Craftmod'?

Currently only available up to v .960 but Winter is presently updating for full v 1.003 and later!

Look it up in the updated mod lists under v .960!

Incredible amounts of variables and new weapons and horse updates!  Even contains mining, horse rearing and wood cutting.

    Check it out!

With the release of 1.03 version, I'm wondering if there is any plan for an update to the best mod this game has ever seen?

Thank you for your time and efforts!  Blackhawk

  8. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Making cartridges:

Iron ore + coal = iron bars

Iron bars + tools (and workbench) = produce musket balls

Black powder keg + musket balls + tools (and workbench) = cartridges

Get the iron ore and coal from mines or just buy the iron bars from a blacksmith.  Buy the black powder at a merchant in a town or from a village.  Can be very difficult to find.  Another place I have received black powder is from raiding supply caravans.

    HAVE FUN!!!

  9. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Everybody!:

Always remember...you HAVE to have tools in your INVENTORY too!  Guess how I found that out?  Yeah...trying to assemble arrows with all the components available; but NO TOOLS!

And somebody has said that the Guild shops are not available...of course NOT AT NIGHT!  They are closed!  Try going in only after early morning and before early evening.  Only thing open all day is the Tavern.  Oh...and of course the Castles!

    ENJOY!

  10. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Ironmonger:

As I've already mentioned...assembly has some glitches!  I've tried to put together custom arrows but the shafts do not appear in selection menu.
  11. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Winter:

Fletcher guild hall will not allow assembly of arrows.  Despite having barbed tips and goosefeather shafts in inventory as verified by "query", any attempt to assemble the new arrows results in " no shafts available".

    Thanks:  Lord Blackhawk

    s1lv3r :

You are in the wrong release of the mod.  Shows 1.8.0 when the newest is 1.8.4!

    Winter:

Has anybody else reported the inability to upgrade any item in the guild halls?  Upgrade...what level?  No levels show.

Come on everybody...please read the previous posts before asking the same questions over and over.  How to mine has been explained extensively and there is a manual available for this mod!  Just go to the first page of this topic.
  13. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Winter:

Upgrading does not appear to be working.  What level?  Nothing appears.  Tried to upgrade axe, pick, some armor and swords...nothing worked.

    Woetorix:

You can mine with any weapon that has the word "pick" in it.  Climb the black 'slag' heap and enter the mine.  Can be pretty frustrating at first until you build up your 'proficiency' level!  Mine contains: ores of copper, tin, iron, damascene and coal.

    ENJOY!

  14. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Nutcracker:

Bronze ingot is actually the finished product...made from an alloy of copper, tin and coal.  Bronze ingots are then used to make weapons.

Steel made from iron and coal...produces steel ingot.  Steel ingots are then used to make weapons.

Follow the link found in the post by Dryvus to take you to a site with a guide on how to use all of the Craft Mod guilds.

    Winter:  Thanks for the info!

  15. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Phatorax:

    Yeah...this mod is incredible.

I especially like the storage crates in the crafting shops so I don't have to carry everything around on the world map!

    Winter:

Wonderful work...very entertaining mod!  Gives us something else to do besides ride all over the countryside killing looters and bandits.  I really also like the hunting option in camp!  Have received some really awesome items that can be used in crafting!

    Lord Blackhawk aka Thane Blackhawk

Edit:  And don't forget to rescue villages at EVERY opportunity!  Really amazing what the grateful villagers will give you sometimes!
  16. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Winter:

About the mine...you can put it in the same area, just bring it down the hill a little bit so it can be entered.  There is another one somewhere that cannot be entered...where there are 2 mines close together on a hillside.  Somebody already mentioned that one.

Is there any possible way to set it up that we actually 'raise' horses;  you know, like from colts.  Use the horse ranch, feed them grain and hay, water them and after a while they mature into trainable horses?  Of course, we have to pay for the needed supplies and to board the animals.  Just an idea.

    Nutcracker:

You mine coal, along with ores, at the mines.  But you need a pick in order to dig.  Or you can by the necessary items from the mine superintendant.

    Woetorix

No more inventory slots (but one heck of a good idea though)!

And 'yes' on the increased speed, but only up to a point.  (3 horses)
  18. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Woetorix

The least expensive way to get horses is to kill their riders in battle; as an example...the roving hordes of bandits.  Aim for the rider and slice them right off their horse!  You will then often see riderless horses standing or galloping around the battlefield.  Then, when you exit the conflict, many times there will be horses as part of the 'loot'!

Another way to get horses is to go to the towns (the ones with the flags flying over them) and go to the horse market.  Compare the different types as to armor, speed, maneuverability, etc.  The pack horse is not very expensive and will carry your supplies.  Other players have done extensive examining of the effects of horses on speed and say that 3 is the best number of pack horses to possess.  The largest effect on world map speed is apparently caused by the amount of food you're carrying for your troops.

The third way is to raise and train your horses  at a horse ranch.  I personally have not figured out how to do this yet!  And I have tried numerous times!  Maybe someone who has researched this can post here to help us all out!

Yes, there are still mines that cannot be entered because they are too far up the hillside to access.
  19. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

    Woetorix

The crates are found on the floor in some of the shops.  Not all shops but if you look for them they look like a plain wooden crate.  If I remember correctly, when you approach then, they say "Inventory" and when you use them, you can put items in there just like you can in your traveling inventory!  I am using them to store the items I need to produce items in the shops...instead of carrying everything around throughout the countryside and slowing down movement speed on the world map.  As an example:  Tools, bolts of cloth, spinning wheel, furs, hides, leather, keg of tannin for the tailor/tannery!

Reminder:  Don't forget to purchase those extra pack horses if your are carrying inventory...it speeds up your movement on the world map...up to a maximum of 3 horses, from what I've read.
  20. [0.960] UPDATE: Craftmod CEP 1.8.4 released (01/07/2008)

Krautrocker...are you playing the newest version...1.8.3?  The scab falchion error is from 1.8.2 version.

Winter...new version is totally unplayable due to CTD errors as already mentioned.

Really LIKE the storage crates!  Great for putting excess baggage/supplies for use later!
