    Hmm. Thank you, SD. Well, if the prices are actually indicative of the stats, thats even better. But... ah well, I suppose implementing the other version is more work. Still, your team wanted the mod to be complete, without too many patches for it. Your choice, of course. Personally, I'm willing to wait a little more for (slightly) better quality.

    Wow, I'm at a loss for words with the chap that busted the passy.

    To move on, I had a question about heroes. (Assuming there will be some), will you enable the fixed autoloot that works based on items' stats rather than on cost? (I've seen it in SoD 4.1, so I assume it should be about).

    Saxon, thank you for keeping us all in touch with the progress. Although it seems to raise anticipation ^ ^ ^ ^ (see above), it is a great thing, because it... well... it is... uhm... ok, saying "you keeping us informed makes us more informed and is a great thing" is just ridiculous, but i think i lost something... I'll go search for it under the couch.
    Anyway, once again, thank you for all your hard work!

    Agreed, you need to make sure there are no second order consequences like the ones you describe, and only your team familiar with the code can do that.  My point was just that the first order consequence of a bunch of people held captive by no one wasn't necessarily as bad as it would seem on first blush.  A bug can be turned into a feature by proper documentation, after all :smile:

    You are so right on that unintended feature.  Sometimes the most interesting "features" are unplanned and unintended. :smile:

    Anachronism Addon [v5.1] ~May 28th~ *OUTDATED*

    Could you possibly introduce the hero-self upgrade into the mod? (The armor, horse, weapons upgrade based on stats-[there was one based on cost, but the costs were always unbalanced]) Also known as auto-loot?

    Would you implement/fix this? I despise micromanaging my heroes' inventories, and the heroes of 5.0/5.1 were great. So, it would be really nice if this issue could be addressed.

    Incredible, some amazing work!
    I'll stick with the generic "can't wait", as I read through most of the threads for PoP today (in one day, note), taking in plot information as well as comments and updates. Even though I've been waiting for less than a day, I'm already hooked--and I'm loving the anticipation. I am currently at a loss of words from the massive waterfall of information under which I so willingly plunged my head. Know that although I am, at the present moment, having problems with expressing my delight for the mod, but I hope for the very best results for mod and team. It seems increasingly difficult to find such dedication, and I admire the team's continuous efforts to present us with the very best. Although I have many, I will offer no suggestions for the mod, drawing from a philosophy that a gift, for a gift this will be, must be a part of the giver; the blacksmith forges silverware to give, the artist paints his gift, and the writer weaves a poem for the one he gives it to. (Therefore the one that receives the gift should not hint at that moon-sized diamond he saw in a fantasy, and so leave room for dreams).
    I thank you for all that you have done on this mod, and bow low, acknowledging your strong willpower to complete this.

    Perhaps I went a little overboard with the flowery language, but I tend to do that when tired. Ah well, I'll leave it: perhaps it does express some of the joy and anticipation I felt while reading through this today.  :smile:

    Thank you Saxon, and the rest of the team. Remarkable work.

    I have to say that I agree with the TEARC sort of regiments, Ninja. Yes, I think that would be great. But such regiments should also exist for player faction.

    I believe that forming regiments should be limited for the above reasons, but not entirely eliminated. I must also note that enemies react to what appears first in sight: If you have less of an army than they do, they will go towards you. However, you may have a regiment following you, and they wont see it until its too late. But when they do notice the regiment, they automatically sum up its and your numbers to calculate if its a battle they can win. I've seen it numerous times when a group of 35 sea raiders will rush towards my party of 25, which is followed closely by another 25. However, they notice the regiment and turn tail immediately, realizing they will go against both parties. It is... a sort of strategic maneuver. However, I do understand where "cheap" comes from.
    Back to what I said about limiting regiments... I believe a skill (leadership probably) should limit the amount of units you can put into a regiment (always smaller than your party), and depending on the skill, you are able to have a certain amount of regiments: 1 at 2 leadership, 2 at 4, 3 at 6, 4 at 8, and 5 at 10. (Maybe that would be a bit too many regiments, but you still have to get to such a level.) I will repeat that amount of troops in a regiment should also be dependent on something, such as... renown? leadership again? a combination of the two?

    Yeah, I meant for simply a greater choice of heroes. I also frequently thought about making them into lords.  Would be nice.

    I looked at the mod name "Turn into Inferno" (or something along those lines), and i thought it would be kinda cool to implement arrows/bolts that set things on fire... (not all of them, however).

    I would also like to see some more cavalry variety from native factions: Rhodoks have no horsemen at all, neither do Nords, although their units ARE strong as is, perhaps new cavalry (weaker, however, as it is not their specialty), could be created? Khergits, on the other hand, need some infantry... Just pure horse and bows... well... iono...

    Hey, I just wanted to note that although I love the cloaks and such, there are some clipping issues: The hood usually passes through the lower jaw. (Im playing with the villanese -awkward name, makes em sound evil- so the clipping thing is everpresent) Too bad the cloaks aren't as tough as they are visually appealing. :sad: Purely modeling issue.

    Oh, and I noticed that if you join a battle between two factions, the side that you join against does not drop in its relation status toward you. I tend to abuse this to get good loot, money, prisoners, and (the other faction's) relation improval.

    Eh, I believe that elsewhere someone told me that heroes will later (in future versions) have quests for joining and that they will be modified to be more unique. (Answer received based on my own question). I love that. Even more heroes would be great too, but its probably difficult to make quests for all of them, and make 'em all "unique".

    I reported this elsewhere, but will repeat it: While there remains the option of becoming a vassal to a faction and gaining fiefs from it, you cannot build anything in villages as a vassal, although you can build in castles. Later I heard that you are not supposed to join a faction at all... And since it becomes buggy with the mod after becoming a vassal (the mod simply does not look into that direction), there is a conclusion that becoming a vassal should be eliminated as an option completely. Becoming a merc, on the other hand, I believe should remain. Its realistic. On the other hand, becoming a vassal could be an alternative, in which case the inability to build in villages should be fixed.

    I had some other suggestions, and some of the above have probably been mentioned, I have no wish to search through 20+ pages...

    Can I make a request on behalf of heroes for the next version of SoD? It would be nice if they were a little different (in skills) from each other, stronger, and perhaps had some different requirements for joining. I know, its not a hero-based mod, but its a detail that would be pleasing. Even more heroes would be awesome.

    Hmmm... Yes. Perhaps it would be good to add in a script that would kick you out as a vassal after a certain period of time? Say, something like somebody sending a letter framing you as a traitor.  :roll: Still... its annoying that you cant build in villages as vassal. I think it would be better to simply disable the vassal function though, since its not meant to be used.

    Yes, I realize. But the possibility of becoming a vassal and then progressing through the usual means to become a king still exists. All I'm saying is that while it does exist, it is not clear on how you should start your kingdom. Perhaps previous versions/readmes had information about this, but its difficult to find this information (I've searched). See, if you don't know that you're supposed to go against everyone and not join a faction, simply capture from everybody, (like i didn't know, initially), then you can screw up your game by joining a faction. As long as the possibility of joining a faction is there, you lose alot from the mod. Also, I've noticed that heroes have been... "deproved", and made very generic in terms of skills. (Besides those that use either tracking, training, engineering, or medical aid.) The rest of the skills now seem to be on the same level for all heroes, and in weapon proficiencies, they are equally horrible with all weapons initially. (34 in one-hand, 34 in two-hand, 34 in polearms, 24 in crossbows, 24 in throwing, 24 in archery: I believe these were the stats for the "generified" heroes.) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see this in vanilla. In any case, although they still remain useful... They lose some "individuality"?.. Iono, seems too bad from my pov.

    Well, yes, not having an elder council as a vassal makes sense. duh. :oops: But buildings in villages seem to be completely disabled as a vassal. Unfortunately, i didn't check towns... or really any other options. However, will one be able to gain such things as the elder council if they join a faction and then rise from there to king? Or is it set so that only when you start your own kingdom you have it... and possibly other functions i dont know about. In any case, (i believe this is because of a condition mistake, so its a bug), one is not able to construct ANYTHING in villages if joining a faction and gaining a fief from that faction. Of course, its your choice whether or not to fix this, but because it is an alternative progression through the game... eh, up to you.

    Ok, I've tested it out a little, so when you join a faction and from there gain a fief castle, alot of options are missing: Villages don't have construction function, and castles don't have the Elder Council function. But because the possibility of joining a faction still remains, it is As for searching for this in the FAQs... Currently am. Its a bit long, and I don't see it there yet.
