    Do you think the Unofficial Mount & Blade Editor should be updated for 808?

    The one thing I miss about the UE is the ability to tweak an existing mod, to add a new troop type, weapon etc., I don't think this can be done with the official tools unless someone knows something I don't. (Probably quite likely!) I've taken to editing the text files instead which is confusing and laborious but there is a workaround if you have any idea what you're looking at and make back ups.

    hmmm, I haven't got the foggiest but I'm not really proficient with windows troubleshooting. All I could suggest is re-installing the framework ensuring it's not the beta or wait for Thorgrim or someone to come along and actually help you rather than me guessing and screwing things up further.  :grin:

    I know these are probably stupid questions but have you got the current version of the editor (0.403b) and .NET 2.0 Framework installed?
    Also does it bring up the error before you get the chance to choose a mod?
    I'd try re-installing the editor and if that doesn't help try to get some details from the error box.

    DF, what error are you getting? It works fine with my version of the UE. (at least, it opens up well enough I haven't tried changing anything.)

    In case you didn't know, the merchants restock at midnight in the game and new items will appear after this time.
    Just thought that might be why you couldn't find them.  :smile:

    The asterisk will appear when the troop has enough experience to level up, this is gained through battles and the trainer skill.

    Not sure if you can, townsmen turn into watchmen etc., there might be a tech tree around here somewhere. You should be able to train footmen from troops in Swadian and Vaegir towns. They upgrade when they have enough experience from battles and the trainer skill  for example, you then go into the party screen and the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

    You can't talk to them in towns as far as I can remember only on the world map and of course wait until you have an asterisk next to their name.

    Just to add to the problems, I get this error when I open up AW's TLD mod in the editor.
