This sorta explains why I ended up with huge negative speed bonuses in Warband with tehcniques that mowed down most of my enemies in old M&B... I used the bumpslash maneuver (hit an unmounted enemy slightly with your horse to stun him for a sec to ignore the shield he's holding and slash) to great extend, but now bandits and alike just laugh back at me.

Did he fix the 0 power draw archers?

No, I have an Nvidia 8800GT. Dunno really what could be wrong with the installation since I observed nothing unusual while unzipping etc. I guess I can give it a try still.

And what's more, things just went WTF in a grand scale! There's a reflection of a huge checkered building in the bugged water!

Happens to me since I installed the panoramic mod and updated my drivers.
And only at night battles, so I don't think it's that much of a issue even though it's annoying.
And it's no NE issue at all.

Happens to me in both night & day battles, no panoramic mod installed. And only in NE, so I'd say it's a NE issue. Tried rolling back my display drivers, but didn't help

Well yeah, the tactical side & terrain usage is what I was mostly thinking about. I don't really have any fancy plans or anything, I just charge.

Sometimes when I have lots of ranged units and high terrain near the spawn point, I may try to soften the charging cavalry by placing my guys on top of the hill, but after they make contact it's back to charge --> hack n slash.

Niiiice mod you have here. 

Now that the Khergits are no more, I find peace boring. Are the factions as provokable to start a war as in native?

I poked around the thread but didn't spot anything related, so here goes...

I've been playing this one mod now, and I had to replace some villages sitting on mountain tiles etc myself, but the map doesn't change ingame. I'm not a modder, so I don't really know what to do here.

Kunkun "sotakampanja" olikin sitten pari viikkoa kuleksimista maaseudulla, mitä nyt pari kylää piti käydä tiedustelemassa. Uudistukset on muuten jees, mutta voi jeesus näiden bugien kanssa. Ilmaan jäätyvät hevoset ftw!

Mulla on nyt 0.903:n kanssa ilmennyt samanlaista tökkimistä. FPS ryömii jossain 0.20 - 1.50 framen välillä, mutta alt+tab työpöydälle ja takaisin auttaa. Esiintyy yleensä ainoastaan heti tappeluiden alussa.

Ja tuo esineiden yms tummentuminen johtuu jostain kuulemani perusteella directx 7:n käytöstä. Paskempi juttu, kun ainakin meikäläisellä ysiä käyttäessä peli hidastuu pelikelvottomaksi, vaikka koneen speksit riittävät ja ylimääräistä silmäkarkkia olisi karsittu. Ei oikein huvita pelata kun inventaariosta ei saa mitään selvää mustaa taustaa vasten.

Well, it's not really just them running out of arrows, but they don't do a **** after doing so. They just stand there idly no matter what orders I give them. Either I'm missing something or there's a major glitch in the mod.

I've tried now twice to take Almerra castle, but each time my archers apparently run out of arrows before they can kill all the troops standing up near the ladder end. Then I charge in and manage to take some of them out before getting knocked out/overnumbered by enemies spawning in.

I position my archers around 20 paces away from the ladder to fire at enemies, and my infantry under the ladder near the wall to cover them from enemy crossbowmen. Archers stop firing --> everyone charges in making their way over the walls and to the stairs behind them leading down. Can I do something better?

I so hate this. Selfish bastards looking down onto me all the time.

Archers in front to tenderize the charging enemies and cavalry + infantry behind them to charge when the enemies get close enough.

Usually all I have to do is sit back and enjoy the show, and sometimes kill some persistent cavalry units that my archers can't beat in melee fast enough. I like to keep all of them firing all the time for maximum wood density in the air.

Yea, I trained with mountain bandits and alike to see how my tactics worked. Now I have something like 20 master archers and marksmen with a decent company of lower tier archers waiting to get upgraded + some cavalry to intercept any mounted goons who get too close.

Now I realized I don't have enough room in my party for infantry needed in taking over a castle. Neither I have a place to garrison my troops, and for the latter I need a castle. One enemy lord runs around with a group small enough to run away from me, and neither any other lords bother to interfere if I siege his castle. The problem is, he runs around for a week or so and comes back with enough troops to get my ass handed to me.

Any suggestions what to do? My Tactics isn't good enough, so when attacking I end up running against the whole garrison with just a few troops of my own. I could solo them with battle size set to minimum, but I don't wanna.

I see. Seems like I gotta work on my tactics and playing style.

Now I wish I had joined the swadians instead in the first place. Goddamn.

Are the swadians over-tuned in the BoWX or am I just not good enough? At lvl30 with a 50 man group to command(mostly vaegirs, some mercenaries and random hired troops too), I can barely bring down a swadian party that overnumbers me by a little bit. Parties from other factions with 2 to 3 times more troops are mostly a piece of cake.

Swadian inquisitors for example don't seem to have an equal counterpart in the vaegir troop tree. What's with that? They're literally tanks!

I haven't tried playing with other factions yet, so I'm pretty much just assuming here.
