    Chop or not chop 1.5.2

The game is already broken so what’s the harm?

Executing Lords is probably the LEAST broken way to play the game.

Assuming your are not a pacifist:

    Economy? - broken, not necessary
    Diplomacy? - broken, not necessary
Mercenary to Ruler? - broken, not necessary
Vassal to Ruler? - convenient but not necessary
    Kingdom management? - not necessary
Forming armies? broken, would be convenient but not necessary

Seriously, if that's how you want to play the game - it has a mode just for battles you know?

    1.5.2 peace and war

"listed with 800 days of truce"?

Are you looking at the tribute payout? I don't think truce length is listed anywhere.

Under diplomacy in the kingdom screen.

    Clan Parties Control Please

right now i think when you make a clan they just roam and do what they do, which seems to be just repeatedly get captured ...

    Many such cases.

    1.5.2 peace and war

I guess they are still working on back-end systems to the game, but geez.

    Between this and the economy...

I am also getting messages during village raiding telling me we're now at peace with whatever faction I'm raiding - even though we aren't at peace at all lol

    Chop or not chop 1.5.2

Still cant believe prisoner exchange to negotiate diplomacy, land ownership, lord exchange, breaking siege aren't still implemented (I made a thread on this issue early on). I just want this game released for modders at this point. I wasn't much a fan of vanilla warband either so I just have to wait another year or more for a worthy game.

Totally agree on prisoner exchange too... CK2 has the same issue lol

    Chop or not chop 1.5.2

    So... *Literally executes everyone*
    *Game breaks*
"Why did the developers not account for this?"

    1.5.2 peace and war

No just a war that lasts for 2 weeks - sometimes not even that I've had even shorter periods recently - and then I had one kingdom listed with 800 days of truce....800!!!

    1.5.2 peace and war

Still got wars that last 2 weeks followed by 800 day truces. Not sure how that's supposed to work.

Once and for all let's get workshops done

tbh I was hoping for much much more from this game in terms of economy. It's been a disappointment.

Was hoping lords could say what villages produced and maybe put some kind of workshops in the village, then have knock-on effects from there to towns. Instead, I think it got even further dumbed-down.

And to have workshops effect the kinds of troops that could be made in a town - and the requirement to be in town to upgrade and make troops. There's no real economy at this point, because iron ore doesn't get made into weapons.

Anyhow, yeah not enough gold from the workshops as they are...

Bannerlord :The Good, The Bad and The Average

A little disappointed there's no "army builder" where you can define your own troop tree.

About TW communication on release date

    Crowcorrector 说:
Whilst I can understand that the reasons TW put forward for the lack of communication,  I don't agree with them and don't think they really have a defendable position tbh,  when you compare them with the communication of other dev teams.

The games industry is full of awful people frankly. Marketing people are some of the worst - clearly. Decisions get made based on some marketing guy's views or some polling they did that was made on a bunch of Xbox console 12 year olds.

If you're going to ask a bunch of kids how you should run your business, perhaps we should do the same with the government?

Take a look at the guild 3's decision to go early access... that franchise will never recover from this single iteration of the game. Short sighted stupid decisions have been plaguing these games since before graphics

I don't even care if a company doesn't STICK TO it's timetable, sometimes things go over time and you need more than you originally thought. But this idea that "let's just not say the date we think it is" is kind of childish.

You know there's a project manager who has a gant chart in there that has the date they think they will be finished by - they just don't want to tell us - and I bet the marketing guy has a lot to do with that decision.

Making Lords who defect use the troops of their current faction

I have been using Litdum for so long, I am not sure if it's in the base game, but certainly YOUR lords can be set to different factions troops through your adviser or talking to them (I think?).

I don't have a faction in my current game yet, so can't see.

What do you guys do with followers?

    Footbeard 说:
I assume this question is in terms of in combat and not party skills. Regarding party skills, play to a companions attributes.

In Native I found this to be really effective:
All loadouts are fairly identical with companions equipped with a sword, shield, bow and arrows, in mid-heavy armour and on the best horses they can ride. This gives the player a group of invulnerable, highly mobile tank units that are capable dealing and soaking ranged damage. They can be utilised to cushion enemy charges, clear chokes, flank, draw attention and a bunch of other fun stuff. The more companions there are, the more effective this hybrid knight/horse archer unit is and can stand its own mounted or on foot vs pretty much any other unit.

The reason for the sword and board is that the AI actually is rather good at this playstyle (vs other AI). I highly recommend bows over xbows for this companion spec due to the superior fire rate and range of horseback options

Yeah I am doing this now. I think I am far happier making them heavy cavalry, I have 5 of them as archers/XBow in the back (Jeremus, Deshavi, Bunduk, Katrin, Ymira) Everyone else is heavy cav now (I started them off as infantry (I am playing Rhodok) so they could get XP easily). Riding to 4 then buy lame warhorses off the market or get them as drops and heal them in inventory. Boom, a dozen heavy cav...

I tend away from giving them all bows or anything, I go with lances and either heavy iron war axes or similar weapons (slow is fine, as they rarely stand there banging away where speed is necessary).

    Thanks for the replies.

    Reemerging Factions

Not sure what you mean by "claimants". (Like the ones that sit around in castles waiting for you to help them?)

However, I have run across one or another of the kings after their kingdom is gone, just sitting around doing jack with 150 men which ... you know ... they could be using...

    Just sayin'

In the name of all that is holy.

    Put an autosave feature in.
  17. thefinn

What do you guys do with followers?

All melee? All archers? Horse archers (I have a save atm with this build - really weird but works). Just use them variously ? Heavy Cavalry is a usual build - the heavy cavalry hires are far more expensive than followers usually, so this is a good cheap heavy cav.

    The worst faction?

    bjorntheconquerer 说:
I like cavalry but without a decent infantry you can't hold your ground. Although I am a fan of khergits, I would say khergits is the worst faction. Furthermore, for myself I couldn't find a way using their special units which is horse archers effectively.

I have a save at the moment where I've turned all my followers into horse archers, works well if you just place them on a flank weirdly enough. Great against the shields of the nords too. Using Litdum, so the nords tend to group up and shield wall really well. This kind of counters it, but I'm never happy with followers so... I was considering restarting lol
  19. thefinn

    The worst faction?

Any faction that randomly turns their infantry into horsemen but they end up in the same group as the other infantry, sucks.

    About weapons on the back...

Swords I can understand, but giant axes, staves and polearms (while using a bow) is kinda silly.
