Is it possible to get work on the towns and eventually make them strong enough to defend themselves? Ive played warband but i havent tried working for them yet. Is it the same as mount and blade original or has anything changed cause frankly id like to make little towns into tanks that can provide me with food and stuff and still adventure. The typical town does nothing and eventually gets bent over.

I would say the original 10/10, warband 5/10. Original is a full game whereas warband makes a few minor changes to the quests and adds multiplayer with multiplayer that isnt multiplayer. There is no leveling, no skills, you just fight making this game fall short of being a game, it is an addon. If anything, i hope taleworlds doesnt do this with their next game. If they do, then you might as well call them koei for obvious reasons. In short, get mount and blade the original, its perfect the way it is, has less bugs and works well in all aspects. Multiplayer is not worth it in my opinion. Although being able to interact with other people seems nice, it really isnt. Ive had more pleasant conversations with the computer ai than with most people i meet 

What about a melee (unmounted) Spear Build that wields fast short spears spartan style?

I used to have a decent lancer in original and tried using one in warband but they butchered lancing in the expansion making it alot harder to do properly. I used to take out 4-5 guys per battle in mount and blade original. In the expansion, i can barely kill 1 guy because they made it harder to pull off with the controls.

If people dont want dual wielding thats fine. The game is already awesome as it is. But as it stands, this is one forum where i will not be posting any more ideas for due to the ridiculous responses. Nobody really knows what happened back then. We just have an idea of what happened. Who can truly say that some soldiers used two daggers, two swords, whatever. I cant prove you wrong, but neither can u with me.

I already said how it would be implemented. Both your left and right weapons will swing at the same time when you're wielding two weapons. I honestly dont know why everyone is saying its so hard to implement. Thats the coward's words through and through.

They should have a shield phalanx. Every time i think about trying to make a character that is melee only, i get that thought in my mind that says: oh yea, no phalanx. Without a phalanx the spartans would have nothing.

The ai of the computer does suck but its much more fun than multiplayer where you lag out all the time.

I would say i have the opposite of you. A decent horse and somewhat decent melee weapon along with amateur fighting skills and you should be able to take out numerous amounts of guys just as much as ranged. The main reason i couldnt play ranged is because i am horrible at aiming and couldnt hit myself if i had the chance. Melees been my favorite.

I still will say, eventually with some training, I am going to try and make a ranged character. It will be a throwing dagger infantry build with a shield. It prally wont work, but you never know.

Lance couching has been changed. I used a pitch fork and a shortened spear and neither will allow my character to put it under his armpit. Am i doing something wrong cuz i used to use this alot with old school m & b.

I just looked into the crpg game mod and it looks pretty cool. Thanks for the recommendation mcbeverage.There are some awesome guilds to choose. The only thing is do you have to pay (real money) to purchase the equipment, it doesnt say.

looking into the game is I trust 3 companies to not have to gamble on-Blizzard, Taleworlds, and Soldak.

But seriously. There's nothing better than me and my khergit lancers running circles around the slow swadian knights, lol.

Khergits are such bastards in the game and in real life, but......so much fun to play as! 

The only thing is that I meant to point out is this is a mounted build. What i was asking is whether i should put points into athletics in case of a siege battle. Oh and bardiche's have a bonus against shields so I'm gonna use them because i would prefer them; plus without a bardiche, how can i feel like Lu Bu, lol
