Your Custom Knighthood Order(s)! (Possible Spoilers)

    They are called companions.

until they all start arguing and complaining. also you only get like 5 or 6 classic knights out of them, and thats if you can keep those ones from hating each other somehow. as of yet i haven't figured it out.

anyway, i was just suggesting what i thought would be a nice way to implement the customization feature for my own play-style i guess. i've never been one for the "norm" i guess.

Your Custom Knighthood Order(s)! (Possible Spoilers)

    SilentK 说:
The thing is, you're assuming you're stuck to that order, you can build as many orders as you want, this one will be the one to shadow them all, you just baby sit them until they become the best.

Thats the difference between your order and the rest, yours can become godlike, virtually the only limit as you stated, is time. But during their training and stuff you're free to use falcons or w/e you may want (i usually build falcons due to sir rayne)

ya, my point was i like the appeal of customization aspect, not the "god like" aspect. i like the idea of making an unified army with my heraldry and all, rather then the motley random knights with red shields, green horses and blue feather helms. ok, none of them probably ever get that bad, but you get my point. if i just wanted god like troops i could take existing troops and use ctrl + x.

Your Custom Knighthood Order(s)! (Possible Spoilers)

the time it takes doesn't even need to be shortened to have top tier troops. if the designers feel it should take that long to have highly elite troops that's fine, but in the mean time it should be fairly easy to have, say, customized mountain bandits as you work your way up to better troops.

    it could be something like T1 = 7 days, T2 = 14, T3 = 50, T4 =75, and so on.

the first tier could be pitch forks, rocks, knives, and any basic clothing. it wouldnt take more then a week to gather those suplies. then T2 could be saddle horses, basic polarms, arming swords, and low quality armors. T5 or T6 could still take an obscene amount of days and curancy for things like full plate, noldar equipment, rune swords, tec. i just think it would be fun to have custom soldiers in the mean time, even if they are scrubs.

Your Custom Knighthood Order(s)! (Possible Spoilers)

this might be a bit off topic now, but it wasn't a few pages back, i do feel that the knight order idea is a great one, but it does seem kind of useless if it takes so long to equip them. i'm not talking about decking them out either, i just mean to give them any equipment at all. hell it would take 92 days to make an order of framers with farmers cloths, hat, stones, and butcher knives, add 23 (is that right? i forgot how long it takes to upgrade exactly)  more days if you'd like them to carry pitch forks as well.

anyway, i never post on suggestion threads cause i'm never sure if my suggestions would be helpful or a waste of time, so im just posting this here as a humble thought. why not use a tier system T1, T2, T3 etc. where in T1 knights get ALL upgrade slots, but with limited quality items, regardless of the knights skill.

This would mean you could start in the direction you want, such as if you wanted archers, after only a short time, but they would only have equipment equivalent to a low level militia archer. then with the next upgrade they could unlock slightly better equipment and so on. as it is now, you could give your knights a bow with the first upgrade, but they wouldn't even be usable till the second upgrade when they get some arrows, and giving them leather gloves and a dagger is just a dream for a distant future.

maybe also once a tier is unlocked it could be possible to switch items out a bit faster. it doesn't have to be instantaneous. i get that the legalistic of reequipping an army would take a bit of time, it would just be a shame to miss the entire game as you're deciding if you prefer axes or maces.

POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

    gem?

i do plan on checking out the custom order thing, it sounds interesting. for now though i tried the tweak forum thing, and it seemed to have worked when i waited in town for a few days with no companion complaints. now i can actually play this mod and see all of what it has to offer.

POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

i just like to use as many armors as i can. i'd love a mod with fifty or so companions, tons of surcoats, horse trappers, and various helms.

as to the whole cheating aspect, this mod increases stats far beyond any i have ever played. if it were easy to do id actually lower many of the weapon skills from 400+ to around 250. so i consider trying to utilize as many of the items as a mod has to offer less of a cheat then blatantly raising stats.

as a side note, i'd like to say that the armors in this mod are very nice.

now im off to read that tweak thread.

tweak has one option and one option only, and thats to prevent post battle complaints, so no help there.

ok, so i tested the companion dialogue option and they still want to leave the party. any suggestions?

POP 3 Cheats - Warning: May spoil or crash your game!

well, i've seen the whole companion complaints thing listed here a few times so i figure this is as good as anyplace to ask this. im sick of the companion squabbling/leaving and would really like to disable it.

    things i've tried so far:

cheatmenu- can't get it to work at all. it's enabled and can use xp cheats, money cheats, etc, but i cant get the console to open with ctrl + ~, ctrl + (+) + ~, ctrl + x, ctrl + home, or just about any other combination you can imagine. i might have changed the defult keys or something but ctrl + x works for other cheats, so i assume that's not the issue.

tweakMB- most options are greyed out. only one i could check was the post battle complaints, but they still complain in between battles.

there is a "change PoP game options" under the camp menu with an option to change companion dialogue from all to few, but im not sure what that really does.

the simplest option would probably get the cheatmenu to work, but i've tried everything i could think of with no success. could i just hack a script file to disable complaints or something? any help would be greatly appreciated.

SOD Warlords - Suggestions & Discussions Thread

this may have been covered, i didn't search all 71 pages, but here's a quick and easy suggestion for all mount and blade mods; make the first wave of troops more elite.

this could just be a lack of perception on my part, and if so then just ignore me, but it seems like i'm always fighting militia in the first wave along with the enemy lord/s. first thing i do charge the lords, then i mop up the militia/peasants. it seems like im not fighting the knights/elites until the last wave.

my guess is that the game tries to balance out each wave to a degree, but i kind of wish the first battle was a bit more fulfilling.

oh, and this could just be my settings or something, i've always played on a old comp that couldn't handle large battles, but i have my battle sizes set to max, but i still end up in situations were im fighting 5+ battles winch is slightly annoying. is it possible to make it so that i can just fight 1-3 big ones with the right computer? this isn't so much a suggestion as a general rant i guess, lol

    are there still claimants?

are there still claimants? i thought id try the whole claimant thing, but i cant find any. i tried asking one traveler, but maybe i need to be in a kingdom hosting a claimant to get the information, and i tried using ctrl + t to search every town in the game to no avail. next i will try...

    quick question about items/armors

now that im thinking about it, in addition to not being entialy sure what the heraldric mail with surcoat is called under textures, im not even sure what it might look like concidering it changes with your banner, so i'm thinking editing it is out, oh well, now that my options have greatly increased with the cheat menu, im sure i can find something

    quick question about items/armors

ya, im sorry, i guess i asked without looking into it more, right after posting it i found a post with a similar question that mentioned the cheat menu. so im looking through it now. i don't like the tan backing on the heraldric armor, so im going to see if i can change it with the same program i used to add my favorite native baner

    quick question about items/armors

hi, i just had a quick question about the items in this mod. there defiantly are a lot of new weapons and armors for all factions, but it seems like there are a lot of armors missing that most other mods have. i'm noticing that i can't make multi colored nights reminiscent of freanch heavy...

Quick question about versions of this mod

the problem i was trying badly to describe is too wide spread, not just for this mod but most mods, to be specific about what armors seem to show poorly. it's probably my lighting settings or something. when having a night battle the armor will shine very brightly, even if its a very dark, and supposedly dull, armor. sort of like wearing highly reflective latex.

so far playing it as expanded doesn't seem too taxing on my game, fingers crossed.

Quick question about versions of this mod

    my head hurts, lol.

ok, so the basic has that odd armor texture that i can't stand that makes it look like your wearing a rain slicker with armor painted onto it. so to get all of the items in this mod and not look weird i guess i'll try expanded with the graphics turned as low as i can get them.
