Sorry to necro this old thread, but I was coming here to figure out how to increase my crossbow's damage. I had pretty much figured out through common sense that power draw did not contribute in any way to the damage delivered by a crossbow strike, but I had thought that increasing my crossbow proficiency would. Are you guys telling me that weapon proficiency for ranged weapons does not effect the damage each strike delivers at all? If it only effects the accuracy of a ranged weapon, then why in the blazes do I have 270 skill points in crossbows when I could fire with pinpoint accuracy 170 points ago? Is there no point, then, to increase your proficiency in a ranged weapon once you have achieved a point where the three parts of your aiming reticle that represent accuracy are no longer seperated at all?

Can that happen? I've had lords defect before but usually when they do they are stripped of their properties and they remain under the control of the faction they left.

EDIT: It looks like you're right. I just loaded up that save and the city is owned by Jarl Uqais, who used to be a Sarranid lord, and what's more is the banner flying over Dhirim and Durquba has not changed since their change in faction. Looks like Uqais defected to the Nords and took both Dhirim and Durquba with him. Stinking traitor.
