I read in an article in a Japanese newspaper today that said before the world cup game, the Netherlands had won their last 25 international matches whereas Spain had lost 2 out of their previous 54 matches. Spain deserved the victory because they won't win it again. New Zealand showed they will win the next one.

Interestingly enough though, before this last match the last nation to have defeated the Netherlands was Australia in 2008. Most Japanese were supporting the Netherlands though so don't feel too bad Dutchies. You made it almost all of the way and that is no easy feat in itself.

In so many ways the Polish remind me of New Zealanders. Not anything to do with domestic animals mind. Just an extreme amount of national pride in their accomplishments due to the rarity of them.
