  1. What game is this?

I've been too busy playing to post about screenshots and such, but that worked out anyway. I have to admit I like the Mordor II interface better then the Demise one, mainly because you see more of the minimap in Mordor II then you do in Demise. I find it hard to keep track of where I am in Demise because of the small minimap. It's possible to enlarge the map view by double klicking on it but that covers up the dungeon view so if you walk around with it enlarged you won't see what monsters you encounter. I would also love to have some indicator on the map to tell me where I've been the current run so I don't have to run around in rooms I've already cleared and easier see if I've missed any.
  2. What game is this?

Woohoo! I found out what game it is! It's Mordor II by vbdesigns. Unfortunately vbdesigns doesn't seem to exist anymore and I can't seem to find the game anywhere, just dead links. Except this excellent tips page which I recognize from back in the day.

Now all I have to do is find the game somewhere...

[Edit: I found it in this list of OpenGL games]

[Edit 2: I found this official page after some more poking around. Appearently Mordor II never came out of beta and was re-titled Infinite Worlds and then re-titled again to Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan.
  3. What game is this?

Unfortunately none that I remember. I seem to recall that I dreaded meeting some sort of cultists when I was getting a bit down in the dungeon. They where nasty. I think you coould get missions/quests to kill a certain number of a certain type of monster and/or find a certain item usually found on certain monsters. You'd think I'd remember more considering how much I played this game, but appearently not.
  4. What game is this?

A long time ago I played a dungeon adventure game which I'm now feeling the urge to play again. I just can't remember the name of it and can't find it using google. What I remember is that it was shareware (pretty sure it was anyway), it used OpenGL and when you where just starting out you...
  5. Powerdraw suggestion

True, but it still requires strength to load a crossbow no matter how you do it.
  6. Powerdraw suggestion

    Kraven 说:
I agree on that part, would make sense indeed, in addition the higher strength the longer you should be able to hold the string ready with bows.

I think Power Draw already does that.
  7. Powerdraw suggestion

    Kraven 说:
Mhm true that, but the reason i think 5% was to much is cause its a weapon specific boosts where as agility is a boost to all weapons.
Agility doesnt change the gap between the balance of weapons, PowerDraw with a to high speed % encrease could do that.

Good point, but agility isn't a skill. And I think it only affects the swing speed of melee weapons, not the reload times of bows or crossbows. As for being weapon specific, so is Power Strike. It affects all melee weapons but Power Draw doesn't affect all ranged weapons. Only bows, not crossbows or thrown weapons. Thrown weapons have Power Throw but adding a new skill just for crossbows is a bit much. That's why I suggested the added functionality to Power Draw.

Come to think of it, if agility only affects the swing speed of melee weapons, why not make strength affect the reloading time of bows and crossbows? Kind of makes sense, doesn't it?
  8. Surrender. What's the point?

    Mad Skillz 说:
not too sure about this, but I think that surrendering, you keep more stuff. for example, if I fight and lose, (wich I don't) then the enemy captures me, takes all my equipment and all my money. also, I will have one companion still with me. if I surrender, I keep only my sword, boots, and 300 denars. I also have two companions with me.

anyways, not too sure about that... but I think it works something like that.

Nope, don't think so. I haven't noticed any difference in stuff/companions lost when surrendering or when loosing a battle.
  9. Arrows of mass blunt destruction

Like James said, blunt arrows would be fowling arrows used to hunt birds. Not much left to eat if you shoot a smaller bird with a sharp arrow. So adding fowling arrows would give archers the ability to do blunt damage. I tink the chinese had a type of crossbow that shot stones and/or lead/baked clay shots kind of like those used by slingers. Don't think that can be done with a regular bolt throwing crossbow though.
  10. Powerdraw suggestion

Powerdraw is basically a skill that lets you overcome resistance by muscle power. Resistance is what makes a crossbow so slow to reload. So why not make powerdraw affect crossbow loading time? The higher you powerdraw skill the faster you can reload crossbows. Maybe 5% per level? Give the...
  11. Surrender. What's the point?

What's the point of the surrender option when meeting another party? The only thing that ever happens is they take you prisoner and you loose all your troops, some equipment and money. That happens anyway if you loose the fight so you might as well fight it out and get some experience. What is...
  12. Some tweaks I'd like to make to Native, are they possible? Easy? Difficult?

Ok, so where and how would I go about modding this?
  13. Some tweaks I'd like to make to Native, are they possible? Easy? Difficult?

    Reymar 说:
1-5 I'm pretty sure can be done via modding, I'm not the one who can tell you how easy/hard it would be.

    6.  I'm pretty sure companions don't have an inventory, they share yours, best bet is to increase inventory management skill.

    7.  one of the number keys changes your commands direction, I know 1 is everyone then 2-4 is infantry/archers/cavalry though not sure what order, maybe 5 is companions?

    8. f1 is "hold this position" basically they all move to wherever you are when you issue it, won't be much help if everyone is already in melee range as they'll still fight and shoot at anyone withing range.  It does help though if you want to charge ahead and take out whatever reinforcements haven't gotten to the battle yet.

Theres a post somewhere with a list of all the commands, hopefully someone with a better memory than me can link ya

    Rey~

Companions used to have an inventory in earlier versions and I want it back. Or at least some of it. 3-6 slots would be enough really. Some books, a blunt weapon I can equip them with when on a prisoner mission and maybe an extra horse and/or some extra ammo.

There is no companions command but there used to be in earlier versions and I want it back. It was very useful.

I know about the hold position command but when I'm in the middle of a mob of low tier troops I want to take out on my own that command doesn't do me any good. All my troops would then converge exactly where I don't want them to be. A "Stay where you are" command wouldn't be perfect either but it's better then no command. Maybe a "Return to baggage" (start position) command?
  14. Some tweaks I'd like to make to Native, are they possible? Easy? Difficult?

    1. I dislike having to search for ransom brokers so I want to have one at each and every training field. All the time. 2. I want to have the Guild Master and the Village Elder in the arrival menus to save time when playing. 3. I want to be able to buy cattle in a village from the "Buy...
  15. So .808 isn't the latest?

I'm curious, what's the big differences between 0.808 and 0.89x?
  16. Increase Equipped Weapons to Five?

I don't know about the rest of you but more ammo wouldn't help me, I want 5 different items equiped. A lance, a sword, a shield, a bow and arrows. That's 5 slots any way you cut it. And imo not an unreasonable amount of gear to carry, especially on horseback.
  17. Increase Equipped Weapons to Five?

I can understand the developers position but I agree with the original poster, I would like some extra slots as well, mainly to keep ammo in. I would like to have a shield, a one-handed weapon, a lance and a bow/xbow with arrows/bolts. That's not unreasonable on horseback when looking at what soldiers and warriors have been carrying into battle through history. Since the developers don't want a character to have more then 4 slots, presumably so characters on foot don't carry around too much stuff then how about linking it to your horse? If you have a horse you get X more slots to have equipment in and if the horse is killed you loose access to that equipment. That way I can have my lance listed earlier tied to my horse and if I loose my horse I loose my lance and use my sword instead. The X number of slots granted by your horse can even be tied to what kind of horse it is. Low quality horses like sumpter horses give no extra slots while high quality horses like war horses gives 3 extra slots or something with a sliding scale for horses in between.

Another possibility would be to tie it in with the inventory management skill. The higher the skill the more slots you would get. You start with 4 and for every 3 levels of inventory management you get one extra slot to maximum of say 3 extra or so. That way you can't get extra slots right away but it won't take all that long to get one soon if you go for it in the early levels. But the second extra slot takes some time and effort to get and the third will cost you dearly in terms other skills you could have.

Just a couple of ideas I hope sound useful enought to actually make it into the game. Or at least the posiibility to add them through a mod.
