I can't load my saved game. The game just freezes on the loading screen, then crashes a moment later.

I cannot load any saved games either.

Came across it sometime in 2005 while searching around for "medieval adventure games", as I recall. Played around with the free trial for a couple months, then eventually forked out the €8 or whatever it was to get past level 6.

I don't think I've ever felt quite so frustrated in a game as on those occasions when Dark Knights killed my horse. There wasn't much to do after that except to fall over repeatedly.

I'm curious - are you referring to medieval armies in general, or the English army described here? What I've read of the Hundred Years War, at least (the only thing in that whole period of history which I've taken any real interest in, honestly - I could tell you all sorts about the Roman Republic, though  ), would seem to indicate that the armies were somewhat disciplined and well-ordered, that every Englishman in France would have a horse - archers, men-at-arms and all - and that that name given to them does indeed indicate their role; English archers were, in fact, archers, and men-at-arms tended to function as heavy infantry. Could be that I'm just misunderstanding stuff, or that I need more reliable books.

Has to be Grunwalder. Horrible place to have to attack. I've never defended it. Best thing to do is just auto resolve any battle there, since it doesn't take that nasty slope and the daft AI which has trouble reaching the ladder into account.

I didn't think graphics cards caused bluescreens.

Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

Could be nothing to do with the card, though.

That did kinda give it away. 

Nothing happens except that she says 'NO STRING'. Kingdom of Swadia Rebels becomes just plain Kingdom of Swadia, and the quest doesn't ever appear to end. It's a strange and annoying bug.

No, you can't become king in any Native version of the game. Some player made mods may permit it.

You -can't- be a king yourself if you're playing native; I believe that some mods allow for it.

There doesn't appear to be any standardised garrison size anywhere anyway. Garrisons seem to grow over time.

Still, if you think there's an issue, best ask in the mod's thread or subforum.

Pay him off or become his friend and take the friendship hit.

You move more slowly the more encumbered you are.

50 used to be the level cap, I think. It may be gone now. It took over a million xp to reach 50, though.

Are dismounted cavalry allowed? Because when I'm playing native, I play Swadians or else just roam about with a mercenary company.

Actually, I just couldn't cope with watching Swadians try to get by without cavalry.

Mercenaries, then. I'm fond of mercenary cavalry, but two thirds hired blades and a third mercenary crossbowmen would do. Not terribly exciting, but hired blades are solid, at least, if rather expensive. Perhaps a handful of dismounted caravan guards to have the occasional voulge being swung about (that's what they carry, right?).

You know that the Mayans were about for a good 3,000 years longer than the Incas, right? I'm assuming you're taking the colonial period to be the 'end-date' for the two civilizations. But there goes the same time span thing.
