I don't think the cheats work with the trial version.

Mine wasn't cheated.  It was my party of about 25 and the refugees of about 30, vs 25 or so dark knights.

This is how it looks to me, with a Radeon 9250 PCI card :



It's kind of reflective, as you can see, but I'm sure it shouldn't look quite like that.  It flickers really badly, too, when playing it looks more like just tv static than anything special.  Do you have the same, Leprechaun, or did you manage to sort it out somehow?

(This is in 0.804, but it was the same before.)

That's a shame.  I have the same card (PCI version) and I get reflective water fine in Morrowind and also Half Life 2, with almost no hit to the fps at all.  Any chance of making it work for us too, Mr armagan, sir?

It's much more obvious sometimes (eg in daytime, and from closer).  Turn up your monitor's brihgtness to see it better.

I'm still healing very slow in taverns too.  Just my character and the heroes, that is, I'm nots sure about the rest of party.

This is with the patch, not sure about the full install.

The crashing bug from a while back caused by having permanent corpses turned off still seems to be present.

I think they spawn in the half of the map away from the sea (that I think of as the north), somewhere around Halmar, Veluca, Tulga and that general area.

I had this in .730, but I couldn't remember the town it was in and I haven't found it since. It looked to me like a 'collision object' was the wrong way round, it was red from one side but not the other (there was the bug in 0.730 where there were seen with edit mode off). You could walk into the stable but not out.

Whichever town it was, the stable doors were only just open enough to get in through them.

Fair point, it is about priorities, and my opinion is only my own.

But I personally do find the word 'rape' generally offensive (unless used 'properly'), and I find use of the word 'gay' offensive if used as quoted above, when it is used in a forum (such as this one) that is a public face of a company that is trying to appeal to both adults and, crucially, to children.

I have seen goatse in my time, and laughed at it in the right context. But here (I think most people would agree) it wouldn't be funny at all, and I see use of the word 'gay' as a similar thing, just much watered down. On the right site it is funny to call someone gay. On a forum such as this one, I don't believe it is.

As for the hello threads ... wouldn't it be a better idea to have a hello thread sub-forum? Then all of these threads could be moved there instead of locked, which would probably feel less like a rebuff to the poster.

I think one thing that has really irritated me about this forum (and others) is the whole Perfect English thing (so this is not a comment on the mods, but the posters). I'm dyslexic - it takes me about twice as long to write a post like this that it would the average person, and I was very lucky to go to a special school for 5 years when I was young. If I hadn't had that luck, god only knows what my posts would have been like. I just hate the thought of someone without my luck in this respect taking an hour to post a genuine concern or opinion, only to have someone with a chip on their shoulder post 3 minutes later ignoring the post's intention and critisizing the grammar. Same could be said for someone who has English as a second language.

I don't think an instant ban should be given, but (in my opinion) a good start would be for a mod to post in the thread, publicly stating that using the words in this way is not considered acceptable in the forum. And then, perhaps a ban if it continues.

There is a setting in the configs that you can get to when you start the game about sound. I don't think the comments specifically mention what you are experiencing, but changing would be worth a try.
