    This is correct! cities and castles are restocked with food by farmer bands and caravans- if you're fairly strong, you can just camp next to the city and all the caravans and farmers will build up along the perimeter- they'll come close enough to see you then run away, but soon after they try again, and are scared away, etc. As long as none of them reach the place you're going to seige, their food stock will go down just as if you were actively beseiging them.

    I've been playing tournaments a bit lately, and I've come to the conclusion that this is actually a clipping error where the item is dropped(spawned) below the ground layer, preventing the UI from "seeing" it for pickup. Similar to the troops-spawning-in-trees glitch.

    In the case of getting stormed in the arena by multiple opponents, remember they'll attack what's in front of them- circle around and get somebody else between the two of you- and guy 1 will target guy 2 instead. and as soon as guy 1 hits guy 2, he'll stop targeting you as well.

    No seriously, Khergit tribesman can have horses, but not all do, so they give you cavalry AND infantry in one class. also, like the nords, they have varied equipment- anything from javelins to battleaxes.

    Nords grow up to be ungodly Huscarls, which imo are simply the best single unit to have in a siege. But on the battlefield, Khergits have something no other race has- mounted archers, and very effective ones at that. they also have decent infantry and Khergit Lancers in their evolution tree. I usually run mostly cavalry, and i couldn't live without my Khergit Veteran Horse Archers.

    change the 5 to any number you want, i think that should do the trick  :wink:

    Note: with some changes to this file, you'll have to restart your character. You'll know if the game crashes on loading a save after changing this.

    Of course if this is too much of a problem, you can just change the value back and it should work. if you don't want to go about changing settings or data, you can always just give yourself 10 prisoner management- export your character. Go to Mount&blade\CharExport. Open the file with your current character's name. Your skill level in prisoner management is on line 16. Change it to 10, save, and re-import your character. Note that even with this, skills can't go over 10. higher values will parse, but won't display and you'll still only get the benefits of level 10.

    I also believe module.ini has factors for Leadership and Tracking, and you can change how much experience you, your heroes, and your troops recieve. defult is 3-2-2 i believe, I have it set to 10-8-8 so I can get through the early game, the "building stage", faster and move on to the actual game. I don't think there is a modifier in the INI for Pathfinding. And I've never tried negative pirsoners...

    Once in .951 ONE enemy spawned on top of a building. An archer. Lucky bastard. MY archers somehow couldn't see him and I seldom carry ranged weapons, so I had to get off my damn horse, dig out a fallen enemy's bow and arrows from the death pile where the infantry battle was and shoot him myself. It was hilarious.

    Ah! I see what is happening in both cases. Your party is avoiding the forests! Since they would slow you down if you passed through them, the AI draws a wide berth around them when calculating optimal paths to take. so in the first pic, it looked shorter to you to take blue, but the forest caused the computer to calculate orange. In the second case, even with the speed reduction you would have been faster to go through the forest since your destination was right on the other side of it, but the AI put moving at top speed at higher priority then arriving fastest.

    Yeah I've gotten over +9000% speed modifier doing this. But yeah, I have to agree, most likely(and historically) a fighter would drop the lance in favor of a sword if he was dismounted, and if absolutely necessary the lance would be wielded hand-to-hand in the style of an unwieldably long quarterstaff.

    Well there ARE, to an extent, a limited number of lords and whatnot. If you've got them captured, they can't lead armies and attack castles, can't requisition new troops, can't stop you from looting their fiefs. I usually hoard lords for this reason. and kings moreso- whenever there's a big war party, they're almost always following the country's King, so having him captive will reduce the chance of sucessful sieges by reducing the likeliness of their armies to move together on a target. Also there may or may not be a random generator for lords- I haven't noticed- so more might spawn as you capture them, but the game can't exactly spawn another king if you've got him.

    I've just downloaded the patch from 9.51, but I played that version enough to see a crapload of these assertion errors. Almost always clicking "ignore" and waiting for the screen to redraw will allow you to continue playing normally in these cases, at least back then.
