I think I could get used to it if it was in full motion. In screenshot format though it's hard to follow the lines. It's an interesting style anyways.

At least they updated the screenshots finally. I was showing a friend the page a few weeks back and he balked at the graphics and I had to take a step back and show him some newer IGN shots and some screens from graphical enhancement mod.

The new screens they have on there are MUCH better.

I routinely headshoted anyone over his shield in 0.960 but in the latest release I never managed to do that, on the other side I was never headshoted over my shield either.

I've been able to do it. Not as easily as I was able to, but it's basically a lucky shot now that will make it just over the shield and hit the top of the head, but as was said, it's a bit too unpredictable so I'll normally go for the legs. Does annoy me though that it will sometimes say I've hit their shield when I'm shooting down at someone from a higher level and shield should be no issue unless they put it up over their heads.

The reason they gang up on you is the way the thing is set up. It only has so many teams, and randomly assigns them a team as they spawn. If it happens to spawn a group on the same team, you get ganged.

I was thinking of modifying it to have 40 teams and all 40 fighters spawn from the beginning, but I probably won't try anything like that until the module system is out. And then I have lots of things that I'd rather do FIRST, so it would probably be a while.

That would make me quite happy. 40 guys at once is more what I thought it would be in the first place when I heard I had to defeat a ton of guys. But if they all spawn at once and tear into each other, the chances of getting the requisite amount of kills arn't nearly as good.

I was wondering why they suddenly all turn around and run my way to rape me sometimes. Happens in tournies too with multiple teams suddenly deciding my rear has stuck around too long (Is thinking about a memorable first round rape in Wercheg). I just thought it was one of those magic AI's I've seen so often that lock on to the player and only the player to kill even when a bunch of NPC allies are around (Yes I'm looking at you Call Of Duty and Battlefield).

I don't necessarily want a structured story...but I kind want a little bit more immersion. As in maybe a few random tidbits on a village, a little bit of background on a lord, a little bit more information about the background of a kingdom, its roots, and such. Just to get a feel for the environment I'm in. It also might be nice to inject a little humor and just random information. Imagine pulling up the information on Kulum and seeing a brief history of the town and something like "Formerly a blight on the landscape as a lawless town of river pirates until they were forcably driven out by *whatshisnamefromzendar*" or such. It'd just be nice to have a little bit of random information to give the player a feel of the world where they are creating their own story.

I guess I'm fine making my own stories up though from scratch...but I havn't really come up with a good image in my mind for the backstory behind the Veagirs...other than maybe that they have a really annoying king...

This isn't all that uncommon. Just look at at special interest groups rating games for appropriateness. One of my favorite of these is GamerDad.com
In most of the ones I've seen, these groups are very fair to the game and the reviews are fairly informative.

In reality, i prefer using notepad2 to do this kind of change than the item editor. I know what im looking for, I know where to go... easier in my opinion than opening a totally different program and doing it (note; notepad2 is my default text opener thingie. )

Yes but for those of us who have very little scripting experience, a nice GUI interface is a safe haven.

I don't think I've ever looted any boots with over +15 or so.

You'll just have to buy them if you want decent boots.

A friend of mine was talking about being allowed one citation of wikipedia per paper for some classes. Then again he was a business major.

The situation isn't realistic to begin with?
Sure they may not line up and charge at you, but looters HAVE been caught by regiments before. A regiment is sent back to an area of the battlefield for burial duty and they find a bunch of looters, chase after them, catch them, and ruff them up/hang them.

In the M&B context, maybe they realize they are caught and do their best to fight their way out to get to freedom (kinda like I've done when I get caught by 100 man Khergit armies when I'm low level).


Anyways, I stopped using the autocalc early on when my mercenary force of 50 Nords went up against 13 looters and I ended up losing 1 Huscarl out of the deal. The worst part about it though was that it was my first ever top-tier troop in the game. Made me very sad.

I bought it to tide me over before Spore came out and I'm still playing it instead of Spore.

Just ask multiple people on your way to find him. Like ask at the capital and then on your way to where they say he is, ask at a castle, etc. It kind of gives you a general idea of which way he's heading. Probably toward a castle along that line of movement. So follow that line and you'll probably find him. If you don't end up finding him after a few days, just forget about it and go back to business as usual.

maybe its just me, but it seems that with certain poles you can't even attack at all when you are too close. i noticed this when defending a siege, as long as the enemy was climbing the ladder my hero would thrust his pike down on them effectively, but once they got up and close I didn't even see the attack animation when i tried hitting them. good thing i had my axe on me

Indeed. This is why I like the versatility of the Iron Staff. You can poke at the enemy if you have your shield out, but when they close the distance, put the shield up and swing away and do decent damage once again. Then you can jump on a horse and couch a bunch of people for the win. It's nothing like using a great axe, but it keeps me alive better than a jousting lance or spear. I used the Balanced Iron Staff quite a lot when I had my INT/CHA character. Currently with my horse archer though it's great axe all the way for any melee.

I've been enjoying making these. It started out as just tweaking things to make my own gameplay better. Then it got to where tweaking the game became as much fun as playing it. Now I'm running my M&B game in windowed mode, checking the forums and making tweaks between battles.

Eh, 1000 is enough for total anonymity between the women. Not too much infighting.
10 though...each of them knows who the other is and each is ready to launch themselves at your eyeballs for favoring one over the other.

I'd go for the 1000.

and by the way, I'm sure you could find plenty of volunteers to help you handle them.

I have to say...I just jumped ship from the Rhodoks to take up Lethwin's cause and I took 100 Seargents + 40 Sharpshooters with me to start my campaign and even though I'm putting arrows in the heads of millions of Nords, the battles are a little too evenly matched for my comfort. It's not even like the Nords have a bunch of Huscarls either. Plenty of Warriors and the occasional Veteran is the main makeup. After taking Thir and two castles I'm down to 40 Seargants and that's with Jeremus' Surgery at 8.

Nords just kick buttocks when they get up in your face. If I wasn't there headshotting 50 Nords and my Alayen wasn't there chomping on Nord guts, then my Rhodok remnants would have been screwed on day one.

as for Looting...Well just grab any one of them. For quick hits get someone like Ymira who is a low level to start and fight a band of looters and she'll be up to the next level quickly.

Masterwork Saber (got this really early on when I was lambasting Khergits right and left because I wanted them out of the game, came in useful for a while) and Masterwork Nordic Sword...I'm pretty sure I came up with a Masterwork xbow of some sort, but no one in my party uses them so I sold it ASAP.

Probably some more besides that...I dunno. Whenever I loot something expensive I sell first and ask questions later which has led to me rebuying some things I accidentally sell before looking at them.
