    Resolved Black square grid on map

    Found a workaround that works for me:
    for some reasons it is not enough to disable all amd driver features in the game profile like in the screenshot.
    When i disable everything GLOBALLY the grid lines are no longer visible.
    Very strange .... The profile is definitily activ. I am 100% active (it even gets profilled, like fps, play time, etc) but it looks like some of the profile settings do not overwrite the global settings like they should do.

    It is still persistent. Allready tried disabling all driver enhancements (AMD Adrenaline Software) for this game, still have those Grids on the Worldmap (and only there).
    Can provide additional infos / files / screenshots if it helps, just let me know what you need and what would be of help :wink:.

    Here is a Screenshot of my Game Profile Settings (for testing, did not help though...).. Running the game @WQHD/1440p in borderless fullscreen mode with all ingame graphic options maxed.

    I did not have these grid lines on the world map on my old nvidia based gaming rig. Not sure if this info helps...

    Need More Info Upon forming my own kingdom(not restoring empire) I cannot make peace with any imperial faction.

    I can't declare on any other factions in the meantime? I've spoken with one other person and it seems like this isn't the case. It also says you can make peace in the quest thing...

    Please note my kingdom isn't even listed as a kingdom under the kingdoms tab - it probably should be, and its why i think this is a bug.

    Did you speak to the quest giver NPC that demands you to recruit 100 troops, gain clan rank 3, own a settlment and be independant?

    Because my kingdom didn't show up as a kingdom until i talked to him after completing all quest requirements. That step seems to be required to start your kingdom getting the follow-up quest which demands you to destroy all imperal kingdoms.
    After that i was able to barter for peace.

    BUT: i can NOT declar war against any faction (option is greyed out in the kingdom manager). Only way is to raid villages of that faction i wish to start a war

    Need More Info Stuck in Loop

    You can work around this by spamming the right mouse button during that dialog + loading screens loop.
    The dialog might reapear a few times but after a few tries your army will move a tiny bit on the map and breaks the loop. I have this problem very often (especially when I convert a lord that is attacking me to my kingdom).

    Do troops level up when left in Garrison?

    Definitly not working right now.
    Tested it with a maxxed out settlement (barracks III) and 10 recruits in the garrision. Even after months they still did not gain any xp what so ever.

    Here's why you're not getting that castle.

    No matter how many cities i capture, the voting is always between the 3 biggest clans in the faction. The ruling clan and 2 other level 5 clans.

    There are 7-9 other clans that barely have a fief, between 1-3 at max. Meanwhile the faction leader has 15. And the other 2 have around 7-10?

    THIS! Exactly the same in my current playthrough. Conquered 10 Towns, 17 castles. Never get even on the list of persons to vote for even when i took the city on my own (only with parties of my own clan).
    But when I take a castle i am on that vote list most of the time, maybe 2/3 of the time. But got only one castle so far and i just wiped out the northern empire (took all their cities and castles as a vassal of Sturgia. so far i got one castle. thats it. While the kings clan and the second biggest clan has what... around 20+ or so?).

    This system seems to be broken right now. Or it works completly different as stated. It's not really transparent to me. And if the distance to your first settlement plays a (negative) role in that decision process it becoms even less likely to ever get a second one because the travle distances increase due to the kingdom expansion.
    Guess I will go the "create your own kingdom" way because beeing a vassal really feels not rewarding at all.

    and what about the "special horse"  (thoroughbred horse) you can order for 90k but find BETTER (heavy thoroughbred horse) ones for a fractal of that prize at normal horse merchants?

    well i must say that i dont like the new pricing system. troops and items are still VERY expensive and because of firearms your casualties are high most of the time (so you have to recruit new men all night long). leaving me completly broken without enough money to buy my troops some food.

    you seriously should fix that! right now i dont even have to think about getting best in slot items because its simply not possible while you are at permanent war (which happens 99,99% of the time in fire&sword).
    also the time you have to reach the game goal (ie the days you have before you loose stats) is way to short in comparison to the time it takes to get "leveled up and equiped".

    as of know i do the same thing i did since fire & sword release:
    i stick to warband and give f&s a try once avery few weeks/months after new pachtes/mods came out...

    yes and no.

    its the same with your special item orders.
    when the city is captured by another faction, it might happen, that it looses buildings! (happend in my savegame after the Krim captured Novgorod).

    so you dont have the option @the city centre to access the bank or the craftsmen.

    but after some days/weeks  the buildings will be rebuild and as soon as that happens, you gain access to the stuff again. at least this was/is the case in my current savegame (and not only once!)

    what works quite well is during sieges or wagon forts to hold fire, advance and when in range fire at will.
    this will take a a huge chunk of the enemys troops while your own troops shouldnt be in melee range at this point.

    but it is very ... fiddly.

    Which are better: Faction troops or fully equiped Mercs?

    the stats of faction troops seem to be much better than those of the mercenarys, but it is way more difficult to recruit and maintain a large number of faction units because you'll only get 3? units per week from one town, while you can hire endless amounts of mercs in the camps right away (okay they are expensive as hell but hey...).

    and you have the possibility to modify their equipment which can be and advantage as well.

    but there is one thing i am wondering about the mercs, take a close look to the following two screenshots:

    it looks like they completly messed up with stats and equipment of most of the units.
    why in hell do the tatars whiled muskets when their archery skill is way superior? also do bows fit better to the krim than muskets do.
    same goes with the moscovite... they whiled a bow while having a much better firearms skill.

    senseless....
    also compare the stats of the infantry/marksmen/cavalery rekruts from each camp and you will see, that most of the time there is one of the 3 types which has far superior skills compared to the two other types while you can all 3 equip with nearly the same gear.

    this is so weird -.-.

    i guess we have to wait for the modders to fix als this ****?

    it is so funny to have 3 heroes with grenades nukeing away half your army (and half of the enemys army) because of their stupidness :smile:.

    both is the case.
    in some dialogs the languages are all mashed together.
    some dialogs are in one language, some in another.

    but the most important thing is:

    they totally f***ed up with the unit and NPC names.
    Examples:

    Lifguards in the "german version" are now called Swedish Reitars (while the Swedish Reiter are still called Swedisch Reiter). but as soon as you upgrade the lifeguards to veterans, they are named correctly again (Lifeguard (Veteran)).

    this is the case for MANY units and totally messes up troop management and recuitment.
    also most of the city dialogs in a city have changed from commander to some thing like Castellan and so on.

    seriously, they would have achieved way better results in just copy & pasting the english text into translate.google.com and copieng back the results to fire&sword.....

    the only thing they translated correct (and with a really good quality) is the Interface (main menu and campain map) everything else is just garbage!
