  1. How is GOG updating Bannerlord?

I bought Bannerlord last week and it was my first game on GOG, so I am still very unfamiliar with Galxy and how it handles games. After having played it for a few sessions, not last today afternoon, Galaxy started an update for 16 GB. Can anyone familiar with the platform explain to me how to...
  2. Design Feedback: Selectable Companion Abilities

Have the 3 abilities they have now plus an extra one that you unlock by making them happy. They have a neutral attitude of 0, to which you add +1 if their favourite buddy is in the team and subtract -1 if one of their nemesis are in the team. If their attitude is +1 you get the extra ability.

Also (I feel I might not be being objective on this matter though) replace the companion interactions "scheme" of native with a different one: maybe you can have 1 companion for every party role + 1 extra companion for every 2 charisma you have. This way we would pick our team based on the abilities they have and also on who they like/dislike, without the restrictions that the original system carries with it (personally I'm tired of having to go around with the same team composition all the time)
  3. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Developer Blog 11 - Some Context

I'd like to suggest to give some though to the co-op option mentioned by many, simply by allowing another client to access your singleplayer campain and join you during the battles, maybe even share the controls on the main army.

While this feature might be shunned by most as it is too boring, if the game truly is as mod-friendly as promised, having the basics already into the client (accessing a friend's campaign) would open up a lot of possibilities for modders.

Whether it is worth the time investment just to give modders more options, is not my place to say though, I wouldn't really know how much work it would involve.
  4. Weird/bugged "lend companion to a lord" quests.

Something strange happened during a siege. The Town in question is Uxkhal and it was/is my fief. I am a vassal of Swadia and the town was under siege by the Rhodok. In an attempt to cull their numbers I stood nearby as bait to see if I could split some of their lords from the main army, another...
  5. Rhodok AI armies terribly unbalanced [patch to fix Rhodoks/Sarranids]

Maybe not entirely on topic, but if to balance the faction you edit the units' statistics and equipment (for example using morgh's tool), does this affect AI v AI battles? And if it does, to what extent?

I can see how balancing troops can be daunting to say the least. I noticed for example while playing as Swadia vs Nord that when I join the battles to "help" I actually do more harm than good: if I wait there, in front of the battlefield before approaching I see the armies' numbers dwindling at an even pace: let's say my allied lord had 180 men and the enemy had 160, waiting for a bit the numbers would be around 120 vs 100.
When I join instead, my allied army gets decimated so quickly I have no words to describe it, also because of how effective the huscarls moving in tight formation are, but the swadian lord always loses and drags me down with him, while instead, had I waited outside the battle he would have probably won (I say probably because i'm playing with only one save, so I can't test it out, unless I alt-f4).

Just to thorough in case the info is needed, a typical battle involving those factions in my game goes like this:
Nord for an archer line and an infantry line in front of them and wait for us.
My allied lord moves infantry and ranged slowly towards them, keeping horses slightly ahead and to the side.
Once in line of sight the archers from both sides start shoting, the swadians keep approaching and eventually charge with their infantry. Usually, but not always (probably depending on the numbers) the chivalry does a side charge on the ranged Nords decimating them, leaving only the infantry alive.
At this point the swadian infantry is no more, the ranged are usually spread, which is good in theory to flank the nords' shield walls but doesn't work. Essentially this blob of human flesh with shields on every side slowly movess back and forth, left and right, to take out one of us at a time without taking too many losses and keep trigger reinforcements from the swadian side without getting reinforced themselves, due to how few losses they take.
This is what happens when for instance I die tragically because I make a mistake, otherwise I can find ways to lure the nord turtle in the direction I want, to let my archers do the job, but depending on the battle's size it's always too little too late, my allied lords already sqandered all their troops with some "bold" and useless charges.
  6. New player's impressions

Thanks for the reply about the veterans, I did manage to find that info somewhere on the internet this morning (was it reddit?), to be honest I don't think I mind it too much, it has a shade of realism to it: you join the army as a regular, get your experience than move on to the special corps. I think though that it should definitely be explained to new players, there are quests introduced to make you chose your special abilities, could do the same for this system.

As for the emblems I'm still trying to figure out all the ways you can get them. I found out that, having enough reputation with a village, if a nearby village is in need of recontruction, you might be able to chose a quest that allows you to bring humanitarian help to the village in need. Than you have to sit there for a couple of days, fending off bandits and protecting the population, and than go back to the original village to receive an emblem as reward, along with xp and standing and money of course.

There might be some other way aswell, I just wish there was a list of all possible sources.

Anyway, the important thing is: now I know how to get a proper army, no more front line soldiers dressed cloth in armor.
  7. New player's impressions

I will start by pointing out that I only just started playing Silverstag: I am 200-ish days into the game, I have several companions (actually I am abusing the lack ofrelation penality, which has always been Imho an awful concept), trying to save swadia I have joined them, left them, than...
  8. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Developer Blog 10 - Materialistic Approaches

The game shows loads of potential; moving diplomatic relations from a dialog window to this kind of interface opens up a lot more options, giving more freedon I think.

My hopes: The standard game will release with the depth, complexity and replayability that warband had with all the plethora of mods attached.

My urges: I need this doggone game to release soon! Need my fix!
  9. Tweaks to keep the game fresh.

A Bucketload of thanks for pointing out Floris update!

Regarding the camera issue, I jsut gave up and got used to play with a medium/close level of zoom, with the camera facing the direction I am moving to. Feels like the thing was created with this kind of movement in mind.
  10. Tweaks to keep the game fresh.

Thanks for the tip, however I can't find that option you mentioned. I am looking at the floris mod options, accessed from the camp menu. Am I looking in the wrong place? I am using Florsi expanded mod pack 2.54, which should be the latest.
  11. Tweaks to keep the game fresh.

Hallo everyone, after playing this underrated masterpiece for a couple years (I know, sadly I discovered it too late), I decided to register on the forums and pester the community with some annoying questions. I will point out that I have played Warband for a few hundred hours so far, mostly...
