    What do you mean by grenades exactly? I don't recall them from notes. Literal grenades do not exist. However there are 3 types of throwables in game, accessible and buyable from cheat menu item browser:
    Liche Spell : 4 uses AoE throwable - used by Tomb King Liche Priest units
    Poison Ball thingie: 3 use AoE throwable - used by Skaven (probably globadiers if there are such)
    Naphta bomb: 2 use AoE throwable -  I think they are used by someone from Arabia, just saw big fireballs in fight with them, either master thieves or sand wraiths

    I have now played three different long games (200-300 days) I observed these balancing issues between factions:

    - Skaven were eliminated completely in 2 out of 3 games, in the third they were in bad position as well. They can't take Bretonia and Wood Elves at once.
    Update to above point: Bretonia is holding nearly whole Beastmen land, and most of Skaven lands. Today the High Elves declared war on them, and soon after Wood Elves did the same. That is very interesting and I love it. Proof that your scripts are working nicely. I was afraid that "good" factions will remain at peace and completely wipe out the "evil" ones.

    - Beastmen were eliminated in 1 game soon after Skaven, around 100 days, so that is very quick. Maybe the new tier units will help them.
    - Chaos is getting badly beaten by Kislev in each game, they take Askreved and nearly always everything down to Mount Vanir
    - High Elves vs Dark Elves are at a constant draw (I reported that earlier). They keep fighting for either Arnheim Fortress or Black Fortress.
    - Other factions are also at a draw, they loose one fort, they take one fort, rince&repeat.

    I think that infinite draw is actually desirable outcome from immersion point of view, at least from my experience. The only boring part is that its always the same forts being fought over, but you could say that this is where the player should come in. There is a certain charm to the fact that factions hold the lands we expect them to, I am not a big fan of Bretonian Skavenblight etc.
    I think that only Skaven really need some help, or maybe a buff. Maybe Chaos and Beastmen as well, but there is a chance they will get stronger with the new units you plan to give them.

    Yes, I agree. Skaven are gone, Beastmen are nearly gone and Chaos is totally smashed with 2 areas left, even with me helping on and off. All by day 175

    The real issue I see is that lords rarely get new troops. So I encounter lords from every faction running around with 17, 25, 40 men. Faction leaders tend to have 100+ most times, but not always. I am thinking that this is the reason why some factions, ones who are fighting 2-3 local factions get destroyed.

    I just started playing the mod. Really excellent work, thank you btw.

    The issue I see in my games are that AI is really bad about getting more troops. Gondor for example, keeps sending lords out with 16-24 men, after the initial stack of 100-226 was lost. Of course they get defeated over and over, by small bands, and it turns into a downward spiral.

    Meanwhile I smash Mordor, their lords pop up in a few days with 100+ men..

    Not sure what the deal is with this

    Also, Why can't I start a siege? I can suggest this in the war menu with my faction, but I can't do this with my own army?

    ****ing knew it..too good to be true. RIP, what a waste of time..mod was always an effort to make gold and silk clothes to hang on a starved prostitute corpse, but I thought it might just work out

    I feel that 6/10 is very generous

    But, I'd add a half point for the low cost, and add another half point for giving the series a story arc, and one more half point for new features like mercs and wagon circle

    So if it were me, 7.5/10 is the highest I would give WFAS

    Warband is a solid 9/10 imo

    Thoughts?

    Still needs lots of work to fix all things big and small. A major step backwards to revert to M&B's system, I was fond of the romance ect. But, hell or highwater, I am sure everything will smooth after a few months.

    *I am finding typos and questionable equipment mismatches all over the place. The game needs a major balance patch to cool the sniper elite-style muskets. Would have loved to have my band fight without me after a KO..yeah maybe not 'realistic'..so what, it is not fun to lose because some bandit hit me 2x from 500 meters with a pistol. Also, some items are much better stats than those with much higher cost..the pilgrim outfit on the medic for example, is better than armor selling at 4k..*

    That said, for the asking price, I think this is a high value, passable quality product.

    However, I will prob put Fire & Sword on the shelf until mods start rolling out the door. Mods are hands down the saving grace of M&B in general...IMO, and thanks to them I have squeezed hundreds of hours out of the game engine.

    All said, even paying full price for W&B, Warband and F&S, if you love mods as much as I do, you'll be hard pressed to find cheaper entertainment per hour, but you do have to endure the agonizing wait until your favorite mod rolls off the assembly line

    IMO Chaos are the easiest to seige. Sadly there is not much to do there. In a seige ranged weapons are really pretty powerful, and almost every faction has excellent ranged troops. Chaos is good if and when it comes to close combat, but I soften them up a lot first.

    I have found that most mods crash if you do not have the graphics turned down, for example though I have a pretty good cpu +graphics cards, I keep my detail setting at around 40, limit ragdoll to 0 and keep the number of corpses at 10, I do not crash very often. Give these settings a whril and tweak until it is more stable

    Yeah I don't know if it is possible to make the formation script only apply to cavalry, but the AI infantry are really pretty awful with the feature turned on. The worst part is when enemy reinforcements arrive, the AI block of infantry backtrack all the way back across the battlefield to meet up with new units. I just don't understand that at all.

    the only thing I like about the form ranks is that it seems to stop horse units from clustering at the edge of the battle map, and horse archers are a bit more effective because they tend to circle around infantry units. other than that it is not good

    the skaven runners die, or at least mine die a lot. Their killing power is pretty good, but they really go down very fast against troops with longer weapons in melee. I always imagine that they used the extra blade to parry, and their speed to close the gap with foes, ****ing them up with close blade work. As it stands now, they fall pretty fast when facing cheap spearmen,. or at least mine do.

    so, out of personal interest: Is it possible to attach rendered location to specific map areas? Last year, when I was playing M&B there was a cool looking mod called Calradia: Death and Disease found @: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,42657.msg1104997.html#msg1104997

    Take a look at the screens of towns and battlefields, looks a bit like chaos wastes IMO. If possible it would be nice to add a little zing to this mod and make the wastes look well..like wastes.


    In other news, I think that the skaven are pretty underpowered (obviously they do not have strength in numbers like they do in tabletop as troop limits are hardset not points based) So, this being said, the nightrunner line is crippled by the lack of dual-wielding. Why not given 'em a shield to off-set this? It may even things out a bit.

    Also, this may have been said but: The dark elves and high elves have helmets that are too tight around the ears, the ears stick right out of the metal.



    After swearing allegiance to the dwarven mountainhomes, Baron von Barky's ragged warband set upon the throats of several roaming packs of beastmen, liberating nearly two score dark elves.




    Thankful for being saved from rustic dinner-plates and primative altars, the wicked corsairs pledged their swords to the baron, and pomised to lead he and his men to several ill-guarded settlements along the coast of Ulthuan. During the negotiations, Felix Jaeger, famed chronicler, explored a ruined altar covered with a strange symbols and pools of ichor. He returned a changed man, and insisted on equipping rugged armor that had been stripped from a fallen lord of chaos.




    The Baron's men crossed the lands of the dark elves without incident. However, once in Ulthuan territory the warband ambushed several weary and ill-prepared border patrols. After burying the corpses, the warband swept through several villages, buring, looting and enslaving everything within reach. The Baron knew the dwarves would be displeased with his actions, but he needed to rebuild his coffers after the expense of taking Gaelings.

    Baron von Barky, the early lean year of slave hunting and pillaging. Most battles found the intrepid warband outnumbered, but with some luck and the aid of a few well-known allies, the baron's fortune and reputation grew.





    After the battle for graelings, the Baron von Barky betrays his skaven scourge masters, seizes the city for himself, and smashes through the chaos lines to reach the relative safety of a dwarven campaign convoy. Thankfully, the stout folk offer protection from the howling horde at the price of fidelity.
