  1. Mount&blade makes it into PC gamer top 100 (US)

Very good. This game is awesome.
  2. Follow up to warband?

New expansions are probably coming. Fire&Sword is no expansion nor related to Mount&Blade, it just uses similar gameplay (engine).
  3. Reason to Use Shields

Hello. I started playing Warband, and now I have Nefestus, not Sanutys. I took better screenies, and more arrows too, take a look:

No animals were hurt trying to achieve this... No, sorry, that's a lie, my horse died at the start. Achieving this was easier than you think, I just bought a very powerful shield (check the last screenshot for info) and stood up against a lot of archers for a long time. So... Once again, don't forget to buy a lot of shield before going to battle!
All of the screenshots putted here were taken at the Native Mod. No modifications were made at all, it is just a strong shield against a lot of archers, and a print screen button.
  4. Can't find mah lady!

Only ladies already married show in castles, if not in a Feast.
  5. Sanutys, The Swadian Pride

Throwing Weapons are the way to go, when you like high damage in ranged combat
I don't like ranged combat at all, that's because you only see melee equipment in my character's inventory (screenshot). The Military Schyte gives me the 80+ damage, with Power Strike 7, so I can kill most of living beings. However, I just do not think it is good while in horseback, so that's why I have a Bastard Sword plus the Shield, so when the shield gets broken I just switch to a two-handed light weapon (Sword is light, when comparing to Military Schyte ). The Polearm is only used by me in the start of each skirmish battle: Most of the times the AI uses the ´´Advance`` command, and the lord(s) go(es) together with his(their) and this way those get vulnerable to a well-done polearm thrust. The lords are always my first targets, when in skirmish, don't ask why; there was no skirmish morale in 1.011, so I guess I only like the idea of killing both the commander and the hero of the enemy army first. Also, polearms still prove useful when in sieges, in some situations. Only experience answers.
  6. Sanutys, The Swadian Pride

Rusty Great Helmet, yes. Weight 2.8, +50 head armour, requires 10 Strength.
  7. Character Size change

There was a topic suggesting TaleWorlds to make this change to the game, allowing you to change your character's size, but I guess it was first posted about one or two years ago, so I don't remember at all. Try search function if you want to find it; I am in no mood for that
Hmm, you'll need quite some modding skills to add that to game, otherwise try as they said; look for mods etc., or try suggesting it to TaleWorlds, as it was did once.
  8. 1.011 problem

Hmm. Sorry, then; I can't help. I will search, however, and try to find anything to help you. Good luck, until then
  9. 1.011 problem

Did you receive, also, an email with the serial key (along with the one in the game box)? If yes, then try here http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,68485.0.html
  10. A young peasant girls journey to becoming a Suicide Sister

    Oh, nice work
I guess I'll never look at those Peasant Women again

Hmm, I never thought we could use game mechanics to make lyrics or stuff. Nice work, once again
  11. Question about Population on Warband

This area is for Mount&Blade discussion. If you want stuff about Warband, try posting at http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,162.0.html

Now, about the doubt... Try doing Quests for the Village, buy stuff (Though I doubt it makes any difference; it is a myth, but not worthless to test, I guess; if you have enough Denars to spend in such things, anyways). Try doing Quests for the Guild Master, in the Town, also. Ever checked if there are bandits in the are? Those are able to screw your plans of improving economy
    Good luck

EDIT: I almost forgot. As far as my experience goes, villages only do the Average-Rich way if the town is Rich. If the town is in Average, the same will keep about the villages; get your Town rich or very rich and the villages around it will prosper as well. It is rare, if not impossible to see a rich village linked to an average town.
  12. Resolved .

I seem to get crashes while in skirmishes and open battles; but it happens when I turn to use my bow (Ex.: I was using a Bastard Sword, then I scroll the bottom to use the bow, and then I see the crash alert).
  13. can't activate the game

Hmm.... Oh, don't thank me yet
Tried reinstalling the game? Redownloading it? Maybe try downloading the 481 MB version (Google!), which corrects a few bugs like that one. Try running a full scan on your PC for viruses and spyware.
  14. Stop an cavalry charge!

Even though standing in hills in cliffs is to most the best strategy, I just find it annoying. It seems the Skirmish gets too slow to fight; I tend to put archers in the cliffs, while infantry go with me to the charge; when I used to play with my Swadian lord, I had an 180 Swadian Knights army, but then I came across Khergit Khanate and switched my knights to Rhodok Sargeants, and with an army full of those I tended to order them to hold x position and I just stayed in there with them, killing the horsemen I could. It was a lot funnier, I must say, than standing in there in high ground, as the cavalry kept stopping, while trying to reach me, and I had to run to them and kill them. It was boring. Try both, and use the strategy you like most. Rhodok Sargeants are good for this kind of thing, but Swadia rocks
  15. A good way to conquer Rhodok castles?

Hmm... With my Lv38 Two-Handed Heavy Shortened Military Schyte user, with about 180 Swadian Knights it was quite easy to conquer those, in maximum difficulty; try doing this
    Swadia is the best Kingdom!!!11!!1
Oh, I also used the 9 NPC Stable configuration (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=36781.0, scroll down the page to the last post; I used the Configuration 1), and most of the NPCs were high-lv (hmm, let's say 30+ ?) using good armour and equipment, and about 5 of them used ranged weapons, so yes, it was quite easy. I had no problem at all dealing with them in both Skirmish and Sieges. Yes, I went through their ranks with horse and everything and no problem at all; remember Swadian Knights use heavy armour, and as I kept running here and there with 180+ soldiers most of the lords kept avoiding me

Just try this way; probably's gonna work; if not, try getting a few more companions
  16. can't activate the game

Are you using the last version of the game? If you are using Vista/ 7, try running as Admin. Try disabling your firewalls and anti-virus before trying again. If the bug is still in there, report the bug at http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,6.0.html
    Also, try doing this: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,68485.0.html
  17. taking lords prisoners

    Scrogdog 说:
    I stand corrected.

But that does seem rather odd.

    Yes, indeed.

Well, at least now in Warband you can go and ransom companions; I think by companions they mean ´lords`, as I did not find any Ransom Broker (nor serached for) while I was holding Lords prisoner, but whatsoever you should be able to do that now. But in 1.011 no, you can't ´´release`` or ransom them before the offer shows up.
  18. taking lords prisoners

No, you can't ´´release`` prisoners that are lords or kings, at least in 1.011; I am still starting in Waband (character Level 14, I took one lord prisoner but did not look at that sorry).
