    Not to me.

I just found out that in the steam early access page of the game, you can read almost that exact same text, except for "[...]traditional chinese, spanish (latin american), and turkish[...]"
  3. Spanish localization

Good morning, Somewhere I read there would only be a Latin American spanish localization. Please tell me there's going to be a Spanish localization, I'd really like to buy this game. Thank you.
  4. seppuku cut-scene

Right, I waited for 3 or 4 in-game days (since I started using WSE), then the problem magically dissappeared.
  5. seppuku cut-scene

    Without WSE:
    - During battle I get lots of red error messages, but it's still somewhat playable
    - I see the seppuku cutscene but it never ends

    With WSE:
    - As soon as I enter the seppuku scene I get continuous red error message. The actual cutscene doesn't even start, the characters just say "Surrender or die"...

I followed the instructions, and I'm launching the game with WSEloader.exe (is the loader any different, visually speaking?)

I like that idea, especially the "kill x number of enemies". Though it is already suggested and noted down in the "general index" in page 1, I'll state how I'd do it.

The quest could be named "Harass enemy", and you would take it from any lord you had a positive relation with (dialogue something like "we are planning a new offensive and we would like to weaken their ranks"). Then you would have a short period of time, for example 6 days, to kill as many troops of that faction as possible. Then you would have to return to the quest giver to collect your reward, based on the amount of troops killed (or wounded and taken prisoner):

    for example:
0-20: Medium negative relation hit (with lord and faction) and loss of honour
20-100: little money and reputation (with lord)
100-300: medium money and reputation (with lord)
300+: high money, reputation (with lord AND faction) and volunteer troops perhaps?

refusing to take the reward could give you honour
  7. Maremagnum

And about the "building bubble", many countries in the world had those. USA, Germany, UK....and they are not as bad as we are right???

About immigration. Integration is required, yes. But they are the ones who have to adapt to us, and not the other way around. César I think is from Catalonia, he should know what I'm talking about.
And about nationalism: Appeasement should not required, but a firm hand. No more pampered regions. The more we give them, the more they ask for.

EDIT: About voting extreme left-wing parties. Oh yes, let's go back to communism. It's historically proved that it's a solution that works!!
  8. Maremagnum

First, Aznar government also collaborated with ETA (indeed, more than Zapatero in some ways).
Oh really? I doubt they released so many terrorists from jail, or warned them when they were going to be arrested, or allowed them in the elections (Bildu).

Second, telling a lie over 9000 times doesn't make it truth. The creation of GAL dates back to later Franquism, and it's not just a matter of saying "Franco did it!" (he didn't), but of speaking about facts. You can also believe what Intereconomía channel says about the 15-M movement: "a mutiny orchestrated from the shadows by socialists and communists!". Commies everywhere!

GAL was active during the period 1983-1987. I doubt Franco created it and didn't use it. The lie is saying that PSOE had nothing to do with it.

The sad truth is that you won't find almost any "left-winged" ideas in current-day PSOE (a 'socialist' party only by name). In fact, their economic measures during the last years have been very close of what the PP would have probably done, were they in the government. That's why when you see the spanish right-wing attacking the government, they always say "the economic politic is a disaster"... but never specify what economic policies have been a disaster, cuz they would have applied them too.

I doubt the PP would have wasted so much money in stupid subventions and subsidies (i.e. 1/3 million euros for the Association of Gays and Lesbians of Mozambique, simply a great idea in the middle of a financial crysis), raised taxes to the evil entrepreneurs (thus forcing them to shut down their businesses) along with everyone else, stubbornly defended the impossibility of firing people (so no one would risk hiring), and several other stupid measures. The lie is saying that the right-wing doesn't have ideas. That's what those guys want you to believe. In fact, they always present lots of ideas and plans that are sistematically discarded (do you watch Parliament Channel?).

Besides, the greedy banks have their portion of blame, yes.

A bank is a private business whose sole purpose is getting rich. You can't ask them for social collaboration. Morally, perhaps, not legally. It's the government job to put some restrictions on them. Obama did it, he injected money to the banks (like ZP) but he decided what to do with it. ZP didn't.
  9. Maremagnum

I agree with Cruger. Good thing Europe remains united. Let's hope things turn out for the best and the rest of the countries can repay their debt with them.

Besides, it is curious how we the Spanish are the ones who work the most hours and produce quite less than other countries from Central and Northern Europe, who work less hours. Minesweeper and Solitaire are our bane!!! We still have much to learn.
  10. Maremagnum

Well, thinking that the right-wing governments will never help the low and middle classes is a bit outdated. I'm sure that was the case in early 20th century, but not any longer. In Europe, the countries with the less economic power are Greece, Portugal, Ireland and Spain. Suspiciously enough, left-wing governments. It isn't a coincidence that most of the growing countries' governments are right-winged, either.

Sorry, but the right-wing governments create jobs and wealth, and that's what keeps a country running, low classes included. Left-wingers usually distribute wealth to everyone (which is good) including those that don't deserve it (which is not that good) and at the expense of competitivity and economy (which hurts every class). And they're known to be soft on social order, terrorism and such....

The problem with the 15-M movement isn't what they ask for, but who they attack. The system, general politicians class, banks, public servants, ...are not the real problem but the government. I'm still to see someone complaining about the President. Another problem as well is the social chaos they generate. One thing is protesting, another thing is indefinite occupation of the streets. Local commerce is suffering a lot from that.

Besides, even if you a right-wing hater, in Spain there is no other party to vote right now. There is only one alternative. Like it or not. Would you prefer another 4 years of this? Under the rule of Rubalcaba? A man involved in the creation of GAL and known collaborationist with ETA?

The beach landing reminds me of "Saving Private Ryan", but medieval style. xD

Frederik wont be in the mod, he was 6 in year 1200.

I think we will miss many interesting opportunities with that way of thinking. I suggest a little bit more flexibility. Not straying too much, but in this case I think it shouldn't matter if it's year 1200 or 1210.

Of course, as always, it is only my opinion.

By the way, I love that idea of enlisting as mercenary in another lord's party.
  13. Quest Suggestions - Europe 1200 Warband

I meant that a certain group, village or individual could be labeled as heretic, not the whole culture. That would be going a bit too far! xD

About the religion thing, perhaps if a certain lord or King lost all his reputation with the Pope or actively and repetitively acted against interests of christiandom, they could be excommunicated, declared "heretic" or something like that, which could result in the Papal States or one of its allies sending a small army to take him into custody or "convince" him of his erroneus behaviour. Or in a severe relations hit with the rest of the Christian Kingdoms. Or in your King kicking you out of his service. and reclaiming your fiefs. Or similar bad consequences.

I'm thinking of Medieval 2 Total War. The religion system wasn't too bad there.

    Cruger 说:
    But Frenchies weren't heretics

I think no one was safe enough from earning that title. Think about the templars (who were french in origin, at least the 9 foundational knights), or the Western Schism, when there were two Popes, one in Rome and another one in Avignon, a puppet of the French Kings.
  15. Quest Suggestions - Europe 1200 Warband

    Cruger 说:
For me it only makes sense as long as the villages culture has a diffrent faith than the factions culture. I don't think that some German lord would ask to get rid of all Frenchies in a newly gained fief.

Perhaps he would, if the frenchies were labeled as "heretics", as Cèsar says.

Another idea for an order quest that won't be taken into account, for a change .

    D'oh!

For me, perfect. I am the one that requested an option to enable instant cultural assimilation of newly captured cities, villages and castles. Perhaps then you could get the quest from your King, or from the village elder/guildmaster/member of staff if you're the king. But are you talking about a one-time opportunity to do this quest, or a recurrent one? I would like to have the possibility to change the culture every time I capture a new settlement, even those I didn't capture myself, but my faction.

The problems with expelling a culture could be a severe relations hit with said culture. Perhaps a "casus belli" if that is represented at all.

The tax reduction thing makes sense. Perhaps lower the village/town prosperity, so it'll take time to recover. Although there are no minorities in M&B, the loss of population could be represented with a lower prosperity and taxes.

The order thing is there because I thought of christians expelling muslims, or the other way around. But it is better this way.
  17. Quest Suggestions - Europe 1200 Warband

Another idea for an order quest that won't be taken into account, for a change . I was thinking about the forced exile of a certain religious group from a certain village or town. For instance, the expulsion of the jews ordered by King Edward I of England in 1290. Or the pillaging of Toledo's muslim quarter by the European Crusaders that came to the Peninsula to help in the Reconquista.

On a more local scope, a religious order grand master could request the change of a certain village culture.

Let's take Order of Santiago. If any villages or towns owned by Castille (its associated faction) is of a different culture (perhaps limit it to a different religion), a grandmaster could ask you to expel those people. You would have to ask the King of Castille (the village's owner faction) for permission (persuasion check) and then, if failed, quest's over, or you could have X days to try again, in order to try to increase your relations with the King.

If granted, you'd have to go to said village or town and try to convince the people to leave peacefully without opposing resistance (persuasion check again). If they agreed, then you would get around 30-40 basic peasant units (which you can't disband or hand over to another lord*) of the exiled faction, and you would have to drive them safely to a nearby foreign territory. They would assist in a battle, but failing to deliver all of them safely would result in a loss of honor (you didn't keep your word about their safety). If they refused to leave peacefully, you would have to fight an uprising (like when collecting too much taxes) and then rinse and repeat, with an added loss of honor, or increased controversy.

*If it's not possible to create units that cannot be disbanded or given to another lord, then adding some low-level and non-interactive companions could be an option.

In either case, the village or town changes its culture to the new faction (Castille, in the example), and you get negative reputation with the exiled faction. And perhaps with the Papal States, if the exiled faction is catholic. In exchange, you could get good money, slight reputation boost with the order, a bit of experience, and maybe 5-10 of the order's best knights to join your ranks. They respect you so much and want to fight with you, or perhaps they've been given orders to assist you.

I sense a storming cloud above me, ready to strike me with thunder and lightning, and a voice far away repeating "remember remember, this is all about historical accuracy, you sinner"

By the way, I apologize for always using Castille in my examples, but it's what happens when you don't want to look beyond your borders for more examples.

What about a unique quest about the famous battle of Navas de Tolosa (1212) ? It sort of set a milestone in the Iberian Reconquista. After this victory for the christians, there was a run of more than 40 years of victories for Castille and other christian Kingdoms in the Peninsula, and they almost recaptured all southern territories occupied by the moors. And some say those victories would've been even more if it wasn't for a famine.

You could get this quest from the castillian, aragonese, navarre or portuguese king, and you would have to go to Navas de Tolosa (here for exact location: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navas_de_Tolosa) and battle a huge almohad army (composed primarily of hordes of light infantry and some horse archers, with a small force of the heavy cavalry of Al-Nasir) that would be waiting there. Four christian armies would also be created (of those factions listed above). They would approach the almohad army, wait for a couple of days (enough for you to join up) and then start the fight.

The Almohad army should be a bit bigger than all the christian armies together.

Perhaps, to control them better, instead of Almohad, Castillian....etc, their factions should be one of those scripted special factions. I hope you understand what I want to say. Like those "Bandits awaiting reward", "City patrol", ... groups.

If the moors won, then nothing would happen, except perhaps that relations between those 4 christian kingdoms would decay. If the christians won, it would improve, Castille would get several southern villages and castles, and would lose 1 or 2 castles in the north to Leon (I read that somewhere). Aside, there would be economic rewards for all victors.

Let me know what you think of it.

Hmm...let me guess...César, Kruger and the rest will say "it's not historically accurate enough!!" as they usually do when they comment my ideas
    Just joking

Would it be possible to change the troop tree in-game?

I'm thinking about special troops being unlocked after a successful quest.

Or give the player X troops that can't be trained normally as a reward. For example, if you complete a certain quest, give the player 10 Calatrava Knights, even if they don't appear in the troop tree (some of the warriors of the order join you because you've proven yourself or something like that)

    Just brainstorming anyway...
