Maybe a bug?

I seem to not be able to get the "lets marry" or "let me recite a poem" options when talking to a lady. And yes, I have learnt a few poems. Are the marriage mechanics different on this mod? I did started my game as a prince and currently have 3 fiefs, not sure if that would make a difference.

Quick question, is there a way to recruit normal companions? Or are the mercenary companions the only ones available?

Hello great mod!

Just wanted to report two bugs.

1) I don't see any in game messages (like damage in battle, soldiers killed/wounded/etc, renown gained etc) during combat or on the map. I made sure that these options were selected on the options menu.
2) I can't use the 1,2,3,4 keys to select troops inside a battle. I need to click backspace to manually select troops and after that I can give them commans

Since I've downloaded the newest version...  I imported my character and now I've been trying to find all the companions again.  It's been 40 + days but I can't seem to find her anywhere?  I know that they randomly move or switch to different towns periodically.

I realize that I might just be getting unlucky and missing her by chance, but I just wanted to confirm that she's still available (in case she's been removed from the game)

Oh... yeah you are in a very difficult situation. I cant think of any solution...

Sorry I meant cities and castle.

A good, very easy, method is also to wait for a faction to siege a castle or town. If they dont succeed the garrison left will be significantly weaker. You can try luck then.

You can do several different things:

If you dont own a castle or village, ask a friend lord to assist you on the siege.
If you own a castle or village, recruit several troops and leave them there to replenish your loses, this will involve taking the castle on several waves.
Else you can try to have only top tier units, they will make things easier.

If you dont have friendly lords, try the basic strategy: shield wall with infantry, and use your archers & crossbowmen to kill the defenders. Flee and repeat until the enemy is small enough.

Let me know how that went.

I like Mercenary Crossbowmen, They are "high tier", they are not as good as Swadian or Rhodok, but they are abundant (and watchman upgrade fast), this is an interesting topic... but i mean.... is money that important? Im playing diplomacy, Im a king with 3 cities winning 45k a week, and I have a lot of top tiers on my Cities. I have about 800 troops and um... I could easily have double that with no problem to my economy

I would say those two are the top down.

I think the foot factions are quite strong, however, overall Swadia is the most powerful because they are the most balanced.

1. infantry form shield wall
2. archers/crossbowmen form 4-7 paces from shield wall
3. help your ranged units and kill all enemy crossbowmen with your crossbow or bow
4. once there are no more of them charge with a morning star
5 ...
6 profit

note: swadian sharpshooters have very good armor, it might take at least 2 bolts to kill them

I keep hearing all this good stuff of Diplomacy, I think the time to play it has arrived, Thank you both for your responses

How i usually start a new game goes like this:

-Get a fast horse, and dont recruit any one
-Attack only small parties you can take over, while ging from town to town recruiting companions and making tournaments for money.
-Craft your companions to be horsemen, you will move fast and you they will survive better
-By the time you have all 8 companions you should have at least 20k, and make y sure to raise all trainer levels
-Buy weapons, armor and equipment
-Recruit Horsemen Mercenaries, and save Manhunters, while keeping your party small <30
-This will give you a lot of power and and mobility. Slowly start recruiting normal troops, and and attack sea raiders
