  1. 2h units are useless unless archers get nerfed

In the time period this is based on the full plate armor was not yet a thing so archers were pretty darn deadly. And even when it became a thing we still had Agincourt.

What is the timeframe of Bannerlord? Early medieval?

During the crusades, the Arabs did not manage to pierce the European armor (mail+gambeson) with their curved bows.
Only hit in arms and legs were the armor was thinner have a CHANCE to pierce at CLOSE (less than 100m) range.

Agincourt is about the terrain and weather. Arrows were still not able to pierce the armor.
  2. Item prices need to be lowerd relative to upgrade cost of units

    What? What would that help?

So that money has a value in the game? At the moment the loot that a single unit drops can cover its upgrade cost 100x times.
There is no point in having fiefs if you walk around with multiple millions of coins you earned by selling loot.
  3. 2h units are useless unless archers get nerfed

Archers should not be able to pierce higher level amor. And should not be able to pierce medium level amor on high range.
  4. Item prices need to be lowerd relative to upgrade cost of units

Item prices need to be lowered This is needed so the value of items a unit can drop can not be higher than the upgrade cost of this unit. So the drop of a t3 unit should not exceed its upgrade cost. If the upgrade costs 200, the value of the items it can drop need to be in that range.
  5. My kingdom declaring war randomly

This is what I don't get though. It's been so freaking long since warband. It shouldn't be that hard for game developpers to put this kind of thing in the game. Especialy over that long time. it seems they used all their time since warband to upgrade the graphics. Don't get me wrong, I am loving the game. But the underlying game mechanics are hardly changed.
Development time is less then you think. As far as we know they rebuild their engine twice. So years of development did not went into the game.
  6. How do you transition to / establish your own kingdom?

If you follow the flag quest until you get the 3 parts, then the person you talk to allows you to go start a kingdom as well.

I know that. It is more about how to a really establish your kingdom. The first steps after you have a kingdom.

So what the player should do to survive and prosper and not die.
  7. How do you transition to / establish your own kingdom?

talk to any enemy nobleman or noblewoman; don't even have to talk to enemy faction leader and an option to propose peace is in one of the dialog options; then you barter for peace.

Ahh. These dialogs love to crash. that why I avoided it. I try it out.
  8. How do you transition to / establish your own kingdom?

You you take a hit to relations with all the faction clans when you leave either way might as well take the fiefs with you. Then pay the 5-10k for peace.

But how do I make peace? The button is greyed out.
  9. How do you transition to / establish your own kingdom?

As far as I understand if I leave the kingdom where I am vassal from I lose all my fiefs. Fiefs are mostly useless as gold from loot is infinite and you can recruit troops everywhere. But I still need at least one for the quest. This means after I left my liege, I need to conquer a castle...
  10. Is there any point of having a castle or city?

Well from loot I always had somewhere to the measure of 5k. Now I own 2 castles and a town I got 160k pretty easily. Also getting influence is much easier with fiefs.

I get 30k to 100k loot per battle.
  11. Going to War/Influence

So i finally made my own kingdom, managed to get 2-3 enemy lords to join it but now when i go to war against another kingdom I lose 250-300 influence? Why? This seems broken because then I can't call any of my Lords army to me due to lack of influence. When I was a vassal I never saw this happen to the ruler of the kingdom why does it happen to the player?

Also so far the only way i can seem to declare war is by attacking a village of another faction. I see in the diplomacy tab there's buttons to declare war but none of them are active. Feature not implemented yet?

If there's any going to war tips let me know because right now the only way i can do it is by attacking a village.

If you attack a village/fief of somebody you are at peace with, you loose 300 influence. You need to start the war differently.
  12. My kingdom declaring war randomly

I Think it happens if a vassal attacks somebody.
  13. Is there any point of having a castle or city?

In the current patch there is no benefit of owning fiefs. You get infinite gold from loot anyway.
  14. Need More Info Since todays it crashes on start.

The game did work fine for me until today: Since today it crashes on start. 1. I met the hardware requirements as I already have played dozens of hours smooth on high graphics 2. I reinstalled the game 3. I verified game files 4. I downloaded and run the specified executables. 5. I removed...
  15. Night Battles. How to see anything?

Have you tried setting your lighting quality higher and playing with your shading?

Yes and that makes the black grey instead.
  16. -20 All Lords Hit After Quitting as Merc

when ready just speak to the king

mercenaries get extra pay based on influence. You cant use it (you are not a vassal), so instead the game "buys" your points -> pays extra coin.
so if you do stuff that gives influence ... you will get paid a lot more.

You lose influence but you get no gold in return.
  17. Reduce the amount of money(loot) we make with captured equipment

I disagree 100% with this. The crossbow in this game is over 20k to buy.... You need every penny you can get. Later on you might be rolling in huge amounts of money because you can sell all that high end gear, but if it costs you that much to buy things, then you must be able to sell them at a fairly high price, as well.

To be fair, the entire economy of the game is borked (just as it was in warband). There is one currency amount (the gold coin, or whatever) and there is no sense of value in things, the prices of equipment is all over the place.

Crossbows being so expensive is the same issue with equipment being too expensive and inflate all values.

This loot value inflation (60k crossbow) is that if you have several million, that all the economy parts like troop upkeep, taxes, trade, etc. become irrelevant. Who cares about fiefs or caravans? Sell 2 crossbows and you never have to care for money again.

And having millions of coins happens in the first year of the game. Not somewhere in the late game.
  18. Couched lance tips?

I agree. The feel is just a bit different from M&B which really throws off your timing. Distance and camera angles are different so you have to get used to it. In fact, I hated a lance/spear in M&B but find them one of the most satisfying weapons in Bannerlord. I would go as far as saying that combat is definitely improved and rewarding though the slow skill ups kind of ruin it since even tier 3 troops can swing their weapon faster than you since they usually have 40-60 more weapons skill than you.

As far as the Couch lance, I have figured it out but I hardly ever use it. You just hit X once your up to speed (there will be an icon in the lower right corner indicating when you are at speed) and charge the enemy. The easiest way to hit it just point your horse straight at the enemy you want to hit and run them over. This is disappointing and unrealistic as you would never do this but if you try to offset you tip to the left or right, like you would normally use a couched lance, you miss every time. This is my one left down on combat so far. (Aside from the fact I wish their was auto-block since I suck on foot).

There is a mod for auto block now. Works perfectly.
  19. Couched lance tips?

I never succed in couched lance in Bannerlord even if I was doing it all the time in WB, I even thought that this feature had disappered, so I completely abandon cav.

I leveled polearms from 15 to 120 with couched lance only. You just need a lance that can be couched and press "x" as soon as you are fats enough.

With 80 in riding and a special horse won in a tournament, I was able to get the speed within the shortest time and had extreme small turning rates.

Couched lance hits deal 200 to 1200 damage. But I think much higher values are possible.

Biggest issue is that the length of couched lance hits is too low. Looters with dinner forks can stop your charge.
  20. Reduce the amount of money(loot) we make with captured equipment

Can we please reduce the amount of money we make with captured equipment. The loot we get from a 50v50 can be easily 10k. After a 500 versus 500 battle its 100k and you will face multiple of these battles within a year. My suggestion: The generic loot should be eliminated. Battles should only...
