  1. Historical Archery, Lars Andersen & Shadiveristy Co Op 2020

    About archery... we have differents schools about that. A different point of view on that topic (modern/classical/Europe/Asia) and Bannerlord is not simulating fight that much. That is not a short topic or only one point of view.

    For example sword, we have only 4 swings and one stab(is like using a sword only in 10%). We can't use hands in sword fighting. Fight in Bannerlord is very simply. For all of the types of swords! This game doesn't have longsword or short sword, bastard, or saber, this game has a one-handed weapon "sword".
    In Lars Andersen: A new level of archery we have an example of how we can shoot.
    In HEMA instructors fighting with the Polish saber - Lee Smith vs. Richard Marsden we have saber fighting (yes, this is the end of XVI century) in here the most important thing is hitting the enemy saber when in the IX century hitting sword vs sword was not the best idea (because of smithing).
    In Akademia Szermierzy - Fior di Battaglia: Chapter II (The Guards of the Sword) we have long sword fighting from the XIII century and later.
    In Adorea longsword fight duel we have "cinematic" fighting where 95% of the fight is historical.
    In Wolin 2017 Viking Battle - "Wrath of Jomsborg" we have more like street fight not actually historical combat, but pretty messy. What here is interesting is that they have armor like "lords" and cutting is useless here. Cutting mail armor is very very hard... and below mail you have other layers of armor. Okay is possible to cute something, but for armor, you should use piercing or blunt weapons or simply push the enemy on the ground.

    as you see we have very different styles in fighting using swords. Bannerlord is not historical fighting game but a game where you are a "lord" and you have fun :grin:
  2. Dual wielding combat

    Why? We have more important things needed in this game + dual-wielding is dual chance to get killed, nothing more...

    Wait for mod...

    Shield + spear > shield + sword > spear > twohanded polearms > one handed weapon >> fits >> dual-wielding
  3. Spears are weak.

    1. Stabs are more deadly, no matter what. You simply go to organs like the heart.
    2. Stabs can pierce an armor relatively much easier that swings. Anyway to piercing an armor with the spear you need first be able to hit! If the enemy is too close you don't have enough space to hit with full of strength. Plus blunt damage can be more deadly for heavy armor like a full plate.
    3. Wielding spear is easy and making a nice distance between enemy, but if enemy flanking you, fighting in a narrow place or is too close to you, a spear is a little useless.
    4. Lance now in my opinion too short, anyway lance =/= spear.

    I thing spears need a little buff, but AI can't use this and maybe animation/hitbox are not correct too.

    The different locations of Documents and other profile related things can make an issue?

  6. Suggestions + Complete Feedback of my M&B2 Easy & Hardcore "finished" campaigns

    I would be OK with this, only if my troops, especially cavalry, were not so dumb in real battle. My army clogs up like a "pack" around 1 or 2 enemies when outnumbering another army (either at the beginning or in the end of a battle), taking ages to finish what was supposed to be a very quick battle.

    In the end, you start to only to go for looter with the auto-resolver as it's the fastest way to train your army. But then again, another repetitive process leads you to go to your party menu, and level up a few units manually. Good luck if you have many types as it can take quite some time. When chain-fighting during a campaign, I end up skipping the process, which is a damn shame.
    Ye they must improve a simulations battles (they working on it), because sometimes on 250 vs 10 looters I lost 3 lancers...
    The saddest is that looters are free easy experience with some gold... I hope troops on tier 3 and above they don't get much experience fighting vs them and passive experience help training recruits. Anyway, when I had 3 towns I started to get tier 3 and sometimes tier 5 units!
    Today the best strategy is not upgraded troops after the battle, because this is the faster way to train low tier troops and save some gold. An example I always upgraded troops before real battle or after 10 battles vs looters.

    So, now I have my 100+ trained units and it's time to go war. First, my god those War Party are so annoying ! Stop forcing me to go, especially when you are chasing an enemy Lord for days and suddenly your character decides to change its course last minute !

    I think this is minor bug.

    There's much to say about the AI regarding War; why would an ally 50 units army engage a 300+ army ? That very small "bug" or maybe feature, ends up causing trouble. After a short while, you only see hundreds of Lords on the map with a very small amount of troups, and they are a right pain to catch because they are faster than you. How frustrating. It was so hard to catch other Lords that I was abusing the system by dismissing a party from my army so that it would dumbly engage the big party I was following...Oh well, "as long as it works!"

    I think they fix that in a beta patch or they try to fix that (1.3)

    Could it also be possible to avoid another time-consuming clicking when forming your army ? By simply adding a "All available parties" in the kingdom party menu ? Or at least, allow a way to sort by availability.

    I dislike taking all parties from the kingdom because looters can't break your economy and one lord could raid your villagers so often.
  7. Minus reputation on the start new game

    Hello, I noticed I can't sometimes recruit troops because of reputation on -1 or -2... That is very strange because I only start to play a new game. I don't know if this is a bug or simply something new from beta version. Someone can explain to me what happened and why we have something like that?
  8. For all those who think the Lord execution is totally fine and shouldn't be changed because it's 'realistic'

    The worst what I did was chop, chop... I load save the file, because of that and lost ~4hours because of that.
    1. The prisoners will have a much lower chance to escape, especially when the game has the full version. Now they are escaping because we don't have many lords in-game and the chance for escaping is very high, especially when you are them not in settlement.
    2. They too easy, too fast go-to health and get a group of 30 recruits.
    3. This is realistic, you killed one, they hate you and they start a fight, so we have a war and only war with revenge.

    When I start killing any lords I have two issues:
    1. No one likes me. So get a vassal or something like that was impossible.
    2. No recruitment options. I have a chance to get 5 recruits from town and 10 from villagers... only from my fiefs. When I started fights with others Lords I lost something like 4-8 recruits from one fight and 1 "veteran" troop. In one moment I get only 100 Empire Legionary 100 Imperial Palatine Guard and 50 Imperial Bucellari + 50 mix of what I get from prisoners, taverns and recruits. Ofc. with silly Lord who has 50% of recruits, I lost max 3 troops, but I was not able to replace that lost. When I attack a small army (180) I lost 13 of the most experienced troops. After 3 days of that fight my army starting lose more and more troops because I don't have 250+ soldiers, but 200+ next 150+ and simply I don't have new soldiers, not enough, they die too fast to replace the veteran troops!
    Yes, I killed all lords from one faction, but after that, I lost everything, no chance to come back...
  9. In Progress Bannerlord causes computer to crash and restart

    This same happens to me, probably because of FPS going to 0. I think this is related to the graphic card who was extremely busy, because of game crash.

  10. In Progress TWCrashUploader have problem with disk space?

    How to Reproduce: Battles between 2 armies vs 1 army. Try sending a dump. After the crash, a many windows of TWCrashUploader were created but on the end, only one was running. Now can't close these two windows. (Disk at that moment don't have bad sectors. On Windows partition 8GB free space...
