"Upgrade all" would be a simple, great addition. I'd love to see it.

That's surprising, and refreshing. Very few devs would actually admit that.

If we're going to allow people to early beta test, we're going to need more than just the modders. Gotta have a decent pool of people to play test both the game and the mods.

This is also true. Beta testing has never been to ensure mod support, and game developers have never really cared about mod support. There need to be players to actually test for bugs and gameplay balancing.

How about no one gets the game free? At most, modders could get a bit earlier access but they would still need to buy the game.

Really, we don't need early access.

What we need is for TW to reveal what language will be used to mod- will it still be the mod sys, (the interview in the OP says otherwise) or a different programming language? They should say, so we know what we should be trying to learn.

I can see that, and I agree wholeheartedly. This would have modders actually using their time properly rather than just an excuse to play the game early for their own benefit.

    Obviously, some people will disagree.

Why is everyone so hellbent on getting the game early? Let alone for free? Don't you want to support Taleworlds?

The game will probably be cheaper in comparison to most games these days anyway, and if everyone gets the game as soon as it's ready then that would be best. Why would you let modders have an earlier, less polished build and then give a fixed version to players later? Mods would be incompatible with the new build, so the point would be completely moot. What else are you gonna do, have a release date for the finished game for modders then delay the release for normal players? That's obscene.

Just because you happen to be able to mod the game (hell, I can mod the games, and I don't care), doesn't give you any special priveledges. Any idiot can learn to do it, does that give any idiot the right to the game for free? Of course not. Stop being so entitled, be patient, and pay Taleworlds for their hard work.

Well at least we can take solace in the fact that Taleworlds will never listen to Ringwraith. Or at least, I sure hope they don't.

And this is why I stay away from this community as much as I can. Game is great, people are crap. I gave up on reading these discussions ages ago, now I just scroll through to see if there are any official news by the devs.

Really? I've recently come back here after getting back into M&B and I think it's a pretty decent community. People are generally friendly, and yet mods aren't too anal about this sort of thing, locking or banning as soon as people start arguing. Much better than most forums I've been on.

are there any newss on m&b 2 and if not then why not?

No, and because there isn't any news ready for release.

Now shall we get back to arguing about how good the combat system is?

I'm not saying your opinion is invalid because you don't play MP. I play SP more myself. But it seems that you only value the game for its singleplayer, and since you can turn on autoblock it shouldn't be an issue. Obviously I am wrong about that since you do play MP and value it to some extent.

His comments have merit as long as he's played the game. The controls in SP are practically identical to MP.

What I mean is that the reason he plays the game is for singleplayer. If that's the case he could just play with auto blocking turned on, and his problem would be erased.

If you think the concept is flawed that simply means that this isn't the game for you. Why do you play MB, I'm curious?
Because it's the only game of its type. There is no other game in the world where I can start as a single half-naked dude with a rusty knife and work my way up to having my own army, conquering castles and towns, becoming an king, and eventually ruling the world. You have your own dude that you control in combat, you command your army in combat, and you take care of the grand scheme of things on the strategic map. Other games have just one or maybe two of these things, no other game has all three.

Well if you were playing the multiplayer your comments would have some merit, so why not just use auto-block? I really don't see the problem, and certainly nothing substantial enough to completely upend the combat system that many people enjoy.

The controls are not bad. They're probably the most intuitive controls I've ever used in a game. And no, blocking in one direction does not mean that you need to look in that direction. It means you need to slightly jerk the camera in that direction. I have never had that problem. Perhaps your mouse sensitivity is too high or something. In my experience, for this to actually interfere with your camera movement you'd have to whip the mouse to the other end of your desk. When blocking or attacking I've only ever moved it about a millimeter.

The directional combat is the reason many people play M&B. It's the reason most people find the combat so enjoyable. If you don't like it the game is clearly not for you, because almost everybody who enjoys the game enjoys it because of the combat system.

My thoughts on reloading and why it should be addressed

    lord_olafson 说:
The reload interrupt thingy is exactly as it is in WFAS, it is the same code, so I do not really see the problem here.
Walking while reloading has been in discussion several times now, and we will not add it. However, if the Module System is released, you are free to make a mod, adding reloading while walking.

Yeah I didn't notice that you could resume reloads like in WFaS, it was worth making this thread just to bring that to my attention. Thanks for reviewing it and responding to feedback though, it's much appreciated.

My thoughts on reloading and why it should be addressed

    Oposum 说:
If you haven't noticed, there are 3 or 4 phases in reloading, which if interrupted resumes at last completed phase. So, I don't know what you're complaining about reload being interrupted.
Walking and reloading isn't only ridiculous but would screw up the game balance completely. No, it wouldn't make the game more fast paced, it would just make people shoot and run away like little girls which happens often even now, and it is quite annoying.
Reloading of anything on horseback is very very bad idea, as people will constantly "dragoon ******" around and it would screw up balance of the game.

Actually just had a look. You're right, I never noticed that there are phases. That's good and my bad for being mistaken. But I still think there should be some way to address the fact that reloading is cancelled every time you twitch. People already run away behind cover after they fire anyway, and it's not as if they'll be "running" away while reloading; you should move more than half walking speed. Maybe they could even make it that reloading takes twice as long while walking.

I think it should be addressed simply because of the fact that it is really annoying accidentally pressing WASD or being nudged off by a retarded teammate while reloading.

My thoughts on reloading and why it should be addressed

First thing, I'm not sure if I've posted this in the correct board. Sorry if I have, and please move it if that is the case. I have criticism on Napoleonic Wars' handling of reloading. After playing this game from WFaS, it seems to be a prominent issue in the expansion and until it is fixed my...

    Missing Textures

Haha... Are you serious? You're scared of a hacker hacking into your computer and stealing your credit card, when all the "hackers" would know is your computer specs and some error messages? And you're also scared of a hacker hacking through your computer even through a private message system which only you and another person have access to it?

I'm sorry but that's so paranoid that it's laughable.

Oh, right, I guess I'm "hacking" you as well because I'm convincing you to give away "vital information", right?

Shogun - Sengoku Jidai (OLD DISCUSSION TOPIC)

    *mess in pants*

    This looks stunning.

EDIT: Out of every MB mod I've played so far, and I've tried a few, this one is by far the best. Top quality models, very impressive sounds, better effects and reworked textures, and the new additions to combat are great.

    I love this mod!
