    B Other More Metal Sound Mod V2.2 for 1.010/1.011 & Warband 1.105+ *Updated 6/19/10

I've installed this mod to my Native game and now on my overworld, it's caught in an endless loop of battle sounds? Is there a way to stop this? I've tried setting the scan_sound command to 1 and 0, removed the sound files from the sound folder. Nothing seems to work.

Edit: Ok, I reinstalled the game and this seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure if this will work for everybody but it worked for me.

    disappearing bodies

More bodies would be cool. It's awesome to look at the aftermath of a huge battle.

    Couple of questions

I'm relatively new to this mod so I have a few questions. My first is where are the companions/heroes? I can't find them in any tavern I visit. I definitely didn't visit all of them but not one I visited had a companion to recruit. My second question is is there a group of bandits similar or...

I would find that my biggest downfall is patience with the process of making cash in order to set up my growth.

I'd begin by recruiting a small force and heading for the sea raiders. After only a few fights I'd be rather wounded and would have to skulk off to a town in order to safely heal up before trying to replace the manpower losses from the fights and then head out to do it all over again. This certainly ended up being nice when I could score some equipment upgrades and not appear like I was wearing a Target brand fur lined coat. The problem with this would quickly become difficulty in finding sea raider parties in general, let alone parties of a size that I could handle.

...So I'd inevitably turn on the cheat to show all troop movement on the land in order to spot those gruff sounding sea raiders. Cool, I know exactly where to go to find a fight, but after another hour of this I'd begin to get bored with the process and want to try something else... Like tournaments!

Who doesnt want to stand on a tourney field, with their arm held high, in stunning 8bit glory? Okay, 'tis better than 8bit glory but my intentions were pure. Find a city with a tourney happening - save the game - and enter, betting 500 denars on myself each round. 4 rounds later, scream in "archer vs mounted knight" frustration and reload. Rinse and repeat. Several bottles of beer and several reloads later I have won the tourney, along with a nice cash prize. Dedicate the tourney to the lady present whom happens to catch my eye and hunt up the next tourney.

Do this several times and suddenly there are no tourneys left. Check my funds and I've certainly got enough to begin several enterprises, but I'd find I'm needing to quickly get back out there to make more money. This fighting thing seems to be working well, but hang on - I was developing a character with skills invested in trading and party size management.. So my continued fighting is going to be crap unless I alter the design or just go ahead with the party.

Quick decision made, I go with a mass recruitment spree in order to get in on bigger fights ( bigger fights means more loot, means more cash... right? ...huh? ..right? ) and way I go, off to sign on for some merc work... Only to find I've not got the martial skills, nor party size to really stand up to the enemies of my new lord.

Do your trading, fight sea raiders, fight bandits, loot the occasional out of the way village. Build up an enterprise in every city if possible. Enter into tourneys. But do it all with patience, young padawan.
Yeah. This time I got it right. I've been investing in a ton of stuff now I have a steady source of income. I now have over 50 troops and take on other armies, fighting against 81 enemies was my biggest triumph so far I guess. It was cool. We slaughtered right through them. I found hiring heroes in the beginning and keeping my army minimal until I made a decent amount of money helped. Upgrading leadership skills to lower wages was a help, too. I read for one of the mods if you invest in multiple business of the same trade it will reduce income for those businesses. Is that true for native M&BW?

    Starting tips?

Actually, I would like an answer to this too. What's the equivalent to sea raiders? I find it hard to get started in the game, building up some money, etc.

Yeah I've been killing Sea Raiders and investing in businesses all over the land. I have a steady source of income now and an army of almost 50 troops. 4 heroes that all get along. I'm going to invest in some more businesses and hopefully soon join a kingdom.

So I'm new to the series. And I'm quite impressed. This is actually the medieval type of RPG game I was looking for. Anyway, I'm having an issue managing money. That seems to be my main problem. I'm playing the native game and have started my second game in hopes of being able to manage money...
