  1. B Other Combat Animation Enhancement - Fifth Release with Trailer 15/11/10

    So this mod is essentially a 474 KB skeletons.brf file and a 67 KB actions.txt file. Any particular reason why I had to download 22.55 MB worth of Native files? That's 97.65% of junk traffic downloading this mod.
    My suggestion is to put these two files out for download separately.

  3. 3.1+ Faction Relations Screen

    I'm asking because at first I though that way, too. But before Waihti officially included this feature in stock Diplomacy, I got so used to the original layout that now I keep using it in my installation of Diplomacy. It just looks prettier and more engaging to me  :wink:

    That's correct; I have seen in the source code that P is for prisoners, and U is for unassigned.

    By the way, which do you like better? The layout currently used in Diplomacy, or the one originally developed by jRider (the author of that feature)?

    I guess now you can go to the camp menu and "Retire from adventuring". Or you could export your character and start a new game  :smile:

    By "native" I meant native Warband, i.e. w/o Diplomacy.

    You can view your right to rule by going to Reports->View caracter report. It is displayed if your RTR is greater than zero.

    Creating a module version of P&B could be possible with Morgh's tools. One could open both the troop txt editor and the troop py editor, and sort of transfer all the data manually from one window to another. It is a lot of boring work, though.

    So far I have been mostly successful in adding that additional tree to Diplo P&B, but there is a problem that I haven't been able to solve. In module_scripts I have this line that defines the the troops that you get in your villages if you choose custom culture

    However, my new troop ids seem to be offset by -42. So instead of troop no.976 I get to recruit troop no.936, which is Sarranid Militia Axeman. Because this definition is in scripts.txt, I can't really change it. I tried adding dummy troops to module_troops, but it did not help. So it seems that my only options are either to abandon P&B (which I like a lot), or abandon the idea of having a separate tree for my faction. Using module system seems to be the only way to ensure that all troop references match.

    Is it possible to request a module-system-compatible version of this mod? I really like the new troop trees, but I also want to add a separate troop tree for my own kingdom. That requires editing Diplomacy python files. Unfortunately when I did that, it messed up troop ids, and I got all kinds of weird stuff going on. I know that Pike&Blade does not originally come in module version, but I figured maybe it is possible to change that?

    *edit: adding the custom tree to the end of troops.txt solved the conflicting id problem, but WinMerge still shows plenty of differences that I do not understand. Does Pike&Blade modify any parameters of lords and craftsmen?

    You gain 3 rtr when your faction makes peace with another faction. It is a feature from the native, and I think it has been there all along.
  10. Help - Modding in Faction Troops

    My guess is, you were playing M&B with some mod. Then you compiled your troop tree mod (which reverted the no. of party templates back from 69 to 66) and started getting this error when trying lo load the old savegame

    you told the game there are 69 entries, although there are still only 66 of them. Now the game cannot compile that file and produces this error

    I suspect that you were originally playing the game with Diplomacy, is that right? If so, did you use Diplomacy source code for the troop trees, or the one from native?

  14. Imprisoned Lords - A Suggestion

    I agree that capturing an enemy leader should provide leverage in peace/recognition negotiations. However, I do not think the player should be able to torture them. In the old times you would deal with nobility by locking them up and feeding them with water and bread for years; you could not go "physical" on them, let alone execute them. This will not happen until 1793 in France.

    So maybe only a simpler system should be implemented, making imprisoned lords more inclined to yield.
  15. A Way to ToneDown/Lower Aggression

    Hmm I don't have this problem. I am at day 320+ and the map looks pretty much the same as it would in native. If the Swadians/Vaegirs in your game don't lose all their lords, they should be able to re-take their lands later in game.

    Looks like a problem with negative numbers in the treasury.

    As for the pirate island, you could export your character, then edit the file to reduce the amount of money, and import the character back.

    Not necessarily. In my desert village the chamberlain was standing under a tent, while the village elder was near a warehouse in a different place.

    So I went to a different lord (Emir Uqais) and successfully went through the dialog of getting affiliated to his family. I believe that was possible because I was not in his relatives list. However, I already had a family of my wife, her farther (Emir Nuam, my father-in-law), and her brother (Emir Dhashwal, my brother-in-law). Furthermore, all three of them were relatives of the target lord (Emir Uqais).

    After going through the affiliation dialog, I instantly got I believe a +10 relationship bonus with all the family (or friends) of Emir Uqais, and -10 with his enemy Sultan Hakim (I also had a settle dispute quest with the two of them). However, nothing changed in my family view after that: I still had the same three people on my list. To make matters worse, every 48 hours I was getting a relationship PENALTY with all of Emir Uqais' family including my own wife. As I am playing with a "realistic" save policy, I rushed to Emir Uqais and called off my affiliation. This is where I got the 15 controversy points seen on the screenshot.

    The problem seems to lie within the fact that my hero was already affiliated with the people that the game tried to affiliate him with.

    affiliation to a family is independent to marriage and real relatives but I will look into the wife issue. a savegame would make it easier to track it down though.
    Unfortunately, I have already cancelled the affiliation in the only save file I have, and now I cannot affiliate with any of my wife's relatives. I guess you could wait until somebody else reports this bug to make sure it is not just me, since I am not running vanilla Diplomacy.
  20. Where is the Chamberlain?

    You are now supposed to get the chamberlain in every fief you own, and as soon as you have your 1st fief, a village included. I reported the bug in v3.0 when I was getting the appointment message and the chamberlain still would not appear.

    Waihti promised to fix this bug in v3.1, but I did not have a chance to see if it works now.
