I know you can talk to your fortress commander to hire better troops than just recruits, but I am the Tsar and control Moscow and have appointed all appoint-able persons...  I have wandered all about the town and cannot find any of my appointed persons. I really want to hire troops, I mean...

I got my first few castles very early on in the game which makes my lords/vassals very low level. they have had (+) plus signs next to them for weeks. How do I level them up now that they are lords? are they supposed to be auto-leveling like I assume the other lords do?
