    Great to see another competition. Two questions regarding 'modding' and custom assets.

    Can we make use of the flora editor to make edits to the default flora? (This would require us to send the flora_kinds XML I think)

    Can we make edits to the default atmosphers to compliment our scenes? (This would require us to send TOD_xx_00_SemiCloudy XML's)

    My argument for their inclusion is that this can all be done within the Scene Designer, and edits to the atmospheres can really help finish a scene. Do you consider this modding?

    Need More Info Scene Editor Flora Kind Editor Feezing (1.7.0)

    So I've been able to circumnavigate the issue by making sure the Flora Kind window is maximized to the screen, if I restore the window down to a smaller window, it freezes. It has on occasion frozen after closing the window, but not enough to make it unmanageable.

    Since “cuce” sadly didn't find the time to give feedback, I'll do it instead, I hope that's ok for the creators.

    It's been a while since we promised to give you all feedback, so apologies that it took that long in the end for these last few scenes, which are all real gems.
    Thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to write these out, it's very helpful. Agree with all the criticisms, I think I might return to that scene one day to make some changes.

    I don't think the issue is a technical problem, just in the design.

    How M&B manages time is what makes it tricky. Its not turn based but semi-real time.

    While one player is spending his time in the town market, and the other is waltzing around Caladira chasing bandits, days would of gone by for the player deciding what kind of butter to buy.

    For it to work TW will have to be very creative when designing the system.

    Major Successes

    The subject of death, family and heirs is easily the most interesting news. This is a game changer. Having a spouse is nothing new but having brothers, sisters and a child who can grow to become your heir when you die is big and very welcome. If Callum happens to read this thread I have questions that i'm sure everyone would want answering.

    • When and how do we create siblings?
    • In terms of pregnancy how long does this last and how does it apply to female player characters?
    • Do we see our child grow through the years? How do we shape them to be worthy heirs?

    Yes, this is probably my biggest disappointment by far. It was a huge problem in Warband and unfortunately from what I have seen it is still a huge problem in bannerlord. Of course things will change if TW say they didnt include every mission for the demo. What have we seen ? A mission about killing 3 looter parties / A mission about aiding a caravan / A mission about trial by combat / troop training
    and maybe 1 or 2 more that I dont remember, probably attacking hideout or bounty hunting.
    When they said there will be narrative stories, plot twists etc. tbh I expected more. The only mission I found interesting was the trial by combat mission.

    Like Phalnax said, some more complex quests were likely cut from the demo, they likely want to save some as a surprise. However I do hope there's plenty of basic quests that don't purely focus on combat, such as quests that include complex trading, crafting, or using the charm/rouge skill.

    I think my main criticism is with the tournaments.

    There's great new quality of life additions such as the UI and atmosphere of the arena but the foundation is still rotten. No matter the culture, being thrown in a ring with randomised weapons and mounts is just disappointing.

    I'd like to see different tourney traditions for each culture.
    The ability to choose your kit (and maybe even use your own in high ranked matches).
    Variation of match types. Team Brawl / Duels / Archery Target Shooting / Jousting or Lancing / Fisticuffs?

    They look dapper as f**k. If Talesworlds were to add another faction after launch I'd love them to look further east or south, Africans or Indians.

    I didn't say that. My intention isn't to be good at everything, just a mix of a couple combat and non-combat skills like everyone else.

    My argument is that an Elder Scroll-esq levelling system can be detrimental to immersion. I understand why people like it, realistically it makes more sense.

    It works for combat skills since in the gameplay loop there is a constant flow of combat. However for very situational skills its different, since actually using them can be far and few between. How often will a player actually need to charm someone? Seducing a lady, convincing a lord, these things won't happen that often compared to the hours and hours of combat. I don't want to be using charm for experience points, I want to use it when the situation requires it. This is avoided with the old system.

    I just think that if it's going this way, the speed certain skills level (even with focus points) needs to be very carefully balanced.

    I have a concern with this levelling system.

    It brings up memories of Elder Scrolls games which have a similar system, where certain skills fall behind in terms of my level because I don't need to use them often. I find myself spamming an ability not because i'm role-playing or even playing causally, but because i'm thinking of the system. (Think of constantly jumping around Morrowind just to level acrobatics.)

    I don't want to play, realise my charm is too low, so I just go around randomly talking to any lord just to level, completely detached from any immersion.

    My only hope is certain skills level much faster then others.
