    The melee system is still there and just as fun as before is just that now is not the "only" option to take. I think a lot of wb players when into this thinking it would just be wb with gun skins replacing the bows and crossbows. I still look with wonder as people pile up on the larders and get massacre and that one lonely soldier takes another route and wins the flag because everyone on the enemy side is too focus on shooting the sheep. The game is actually more balance the wb imo and requires an entirely different approach. No class is really overwhelming but still deadly in their respective rolls. The game is not any more a fps than wb is, just people come with an illusion that it has guns so lets camp. This is usually the sides that looses...well that is unless the other sides comes thinking the same thing which happens too often but that is not the game's fault. Unfortunately games like mb are games that survive on the hardcore fans, and this type of player doesn't take well to change.

    Unlike wb there there are not really a lot of those. Lances of the different types are the only ones I can think of have this effect. I usually have most of them on range except two of them that act as my bodyguards. In the early game any slashing weapon would do, once you join a faction and your chances of going against better armor opponents goes up, something with piercing is the best choice. I usually use chekans.

    really that's strange but they are they are similar links. Your are correct FS code is a bit different but some of the tweaks still work. I personally have try the merc adjustment and time between prisoner recruiting and both tweaks have work.

    the tweaks you want are in this list somewere. Not all of them work but I think adjusting the mercs is still doable. What I'm trying to figure out is how to make the different bandits and deserters respawn more often. I'm at day 60 and they have disappear. I encounter one or two bands but mostly i can even send my caravan with one escort and dont have to worry about it being raided. This has made my game a bit boring.

    I notice this as well and was wondering the same thing. Before, you could trade with any city or fort now you seem to be restricted to specific locations. I when over the list and this is cities you trade with:

    Koenigsberg, Reval, Kiev, Vilna, Sich, Warsaw, Lviv, Moscow, Pskov, Azaq-kale, Cherkassk, Riga, Smolensk, Bakhchisaray, Chernigov, Krakov, Akkerman, Kyzykermen.

    It seems limited but maybe there is a reason for it.

    There are already AI merchant caravans travelling between nearby towns as you know. As example, each caravan travel between "town A" and "town B" makes prices a bit closer in these towns. If "town A" produces "pottery" and "smoked fish" well, their prices are low at that town as expected and whenever an AI caravan moves between "town A" and "town B" "smoked fish" and "pottery" prices get a bit low in also "town B". Now this makes if an item is not produced in any of nearby towns this item will be expensive in that area. This is working well in towns and villages. But castles damage this balance a bit. So we want players to think where to sell while they are starting a new merchant trade, thats why we only limited them with towns. If we do not do this selecting nearest castle will generally make good profits with very short travel time (short travel distance means also less looting danger) then any player will not select far towns for trading. Also if we care reality issues, population of castles are so low compared to towns and they do not need that much item. It is not so logical selling them tons of item and make good profits.

    Also offering a huge selection list to player does not seem good in any part of game. List was not even alphabetical. It can be hard for players to find their real target between centers but this last reason has really low effect, real reasons are explained in above paragraph.

    Now, I am aware it is hard to gain money then you used to. I think when some overpriced item costs are a bit lowered everything will be ok. Problem is not the fixing of broken trade system, problem is huge item costs. Now player have to know which towns produce which goods and where to sell any good to make maximum profit and these production values will change game by game and time by time slowly and randomly. This increased the depth of game. Try to get used it and I hope you will like it.

    Thanks for that explanation. I do agree that the way the system was before it needed fixing I don't think anyone would argue that. It just seem a bit strange I can trade with moscow but not Tula or Ryazam, but the lower number off locations does allow for better tracking so there is that. Ill play around and report back. Great job with this patch, much appreciated and keep up the great work.

    most annoying thing in thsi game

    I can testified to what the OP is saying. Just today I started a SP game since i didn't have much time to hit the MP. While participating in a town match (not the tournaments) I saw this happen enough times that I quit the game in disgust. With everything on normal was impossible to fight more than two opponents without a shield. Even then, allot times went i struck the AI another one hit me by tricking trough one of the other opponents without afflicting any damage him.

    I haven't play infantry enough yet to say if this persist in the regular battles but if it does is a really disappointing game aspect, I don't remember if this issue was present in MB.

    Aye it was Spanier, you guys didn't do too bad, haha i hope to see you around more Spanier so I can raise your rank, i believe you're better than a recruit but haven't seen you around enough to promote you, we hang around the PRT, nK battle, and the POM server's most of the time, we also have our own server, but I think it's down for the cont right now.

    Yeah if you just get the banner pack, the banner that we use is the one in Mad Dawg's text.

    Your too kind. I will say that was definitely not my best...nervous?...could be. It was my first official match. You'll definitely see me around, my connection seems pretty stable so far, tough I'm thinking about changing provideres in the next few weeks. I check the banner pack but it seems to be down, will have to wait for it I guess.

    Adding some substantial story into the game

    A linear story is not really what this game needs but more and better side quest. Most of the current ones are from the original MB from what I seen. Also it needs to have ways to better branch out into the world. Does anyone plays a dedicated merchants role? Can you truly be evil, or good for that matter? Even in battle you options are limited...but I'm moving from the topic.

    In this "sandbox" game the is a limited number of options/roads you can. I don't think a story would really improve that, but giving more things to do besides fight or trade would be bring this world to life.

    Broken AI in tournaments

    Same happen to me. It would not attack it just keep looking up. Cant remember if it was Tulga or Narra that happen on. On the up note it was a good thing too, it was my last opponent and I had gotten stuck with a bow....so i kind a took advantage of his..ah...lack of focus. :cool:

    Well, hoping to join the ranks.

    I had some duels with Hawke about a day ago, and it was quite the educational experience. I'm looking for an active group to help me improve, and this merc band seems to offer that possibility.
