Does anyone have a good banner template/texture for PoP?

Here's one I've used before. You need an image-editing program like Photoshop, GIMP, paint.net, anything. Then you colour / don't colour the banner whichever way you want, and then you refit the image you want across. Use magic wand to crop the picture if it's not transparent. Edit it with effects if it needs to be sharpened or blurred. And then you got a banner.

Yeah, I'm using that one as well but PoP's banners are twice the size of regular ones.

Look at the banners. There's little overlap between banner_briton214 & banner_anglosaxon21. They can be quickly combined & only need a little tidy up with a clone tool.

Cheers, friend. Here's how it turned out - quite well, I'd say.

I was hoping to find the cloth texture used in the banners, but thanks at any rate.

Is there a Viking Conquest banner template lying around somewhere?

Some guy is using skvor's art on Total War Center

Just wanted to give everyone (skvor in particular I guess) a heads up that someone is using Vikingr art to promote his viking-themed mod for Total War: Attila over at Total War Center: Link

    Buying Viking Conquest.

Don't buy Viking Conquest. It's hilariously unfinished. Wait a few months and then you can pick it up on sale when it might actually be worth the money.

Oh... so my troops need sleep?

Rest and make sure you have someone with the Entertain skill. I've heard 4 should be good enough.

[Repolished 1.05] Villagers are walking into walls

Far too often when I enter villages I find them devoid of people, only to find villagers walking into walls and just standing there, like this: It's not a gamebreaking issue by any means but it's very silly to see.

    I'd like a refund.

I have been waiting since Monday and I haven't heard anything from the Steam support yet.

Have the devs given reason for the bad quality of this dlc?

I would also like to hear exactly how and why they sent it out in this state.

The most likely factor here is time constraints.

    Viking Conquest Update 1.01 (released)

Man, I really enjoy buying finished games.

Have the devs given reason for the bad quality of this dlc?

I wasn't aware they apologized. All I've heard so far is historical accuracy...

    Docm30 说:
Is that something the devs have said or are you just completely guessing Taleworlds is at fault?

I wouldn't think that Taleworlds are utterly blameless in this matter, but a lot of the seemingly strange game decisions are definitely the fault of the developers, like excluding two-handed axes while including scale armour and having the strongest weapon in the game be a piece of wood.
  16. Aklis

How many two handed weapons are there?

    matmannen 说:
It's really simple, people didn't use two handed axes becasue they had no use. As armour was not good it was a bad idea to sacrifice your prodective shield, you know the thing keeping you alive, for a polearm held in both hands. It's a really simple concept. When armour became better the twohanded polearms started to be used...

Mail was by all means used in 868 and was the dominant form of armour in western Europe until the invention of plate armour. In fact, it predated two-handed axes by several centuries. What are you talking about?

Why isn't the shield wall an actual shield wall?

    Skraedos 说:
As Yeyo just explained, you are only assuming.

Yes, I'm assuming that early medieval warriors did not want to have people stabbing them in the back while they were in battle.

Why isn't the shield wall an actual shield wall?

Let's face it, mate. A Viking shield wall would not feature massive gaps in the line where the enemy can simply run in unhindered and start hacking away from behind.

    I'd like a refund.

I just sent this to the Steam support:

On December 11 I purchased Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest and found it to be very unstable, featuring severe FPS drops and crashing. A hotfix was brought out on December 12, but this only addressed the most immediate of the technical issues. The game is still riddled with bugs and the hotfix did not address the in-game issues which further plague the game, including but not limited to a severe lack of content, particularly in comparison to what regular Mount & Blade players have come to expect from previous titles released under the brand (particularly the Napoleonic Wars DLC, a product which was developed by a team of former modders, just like Viking Conquest).

An argument can be made that these technical issues and the lack of content will be addressed in future patches, but if this is the case it would mean that Viking Conquest is not a finished product and should have been released as an Early Access game, which it was not. If this is not the case, then the developers have knowingly released a faulty product, which is quite simply unethical. My sentiments are echoed on both the Steam forums and the official Taleworlds forums. As of the time of writing, only 41% of 1,303 reviews for Viking Conquest are positive, a shockingly small figure in comparison to the base game (Mount & Blade: Warband) which has 97% positive reviews out of 19,499, and the Napoleonic Wars DLC which sits at 92% of 398. Many of these reviews also bring up the same issues that I have.

Ultimately the situation regarding Viking Conquest is similar to The War Z (now Infestation: Survivor Stories) which was released some years ago as an unfinished product and was removed from the Steam Store with Valve offering full refunds. Viking Conquest is in no way a finished product and advertising it as such by not releasing it as an Early Access title is severely misleading to customers. It is for this reason, and for the other reasons outlined above, that I would ask for a full refund for the Viking Conquest DLC.

Why isn't the shield wall an actual shield wall?

In yet another stunning display of Viking Conquest's mediocrity, the shield wall is not a wall of shields. It's a rather loose collection of troops in staggered order, with large gaps in between them. Given the already poor AI in Mount & Blade, this allows your enemy to simply rush through those...
