There should be though. Is there an option to not appoint anyone? If so, then that may be the citizen option.
Also, have you tried talking to your companion minister to see if you could replace him with a prominent citizen?

You can appoint a random citizen to be minister, though some minister functions will be locked if the minister is not a companion / wife.

If you are playing as female, you can't appoint your husband as a minister. Husbands are lords and lords can't be made into ministers. Gay marriage is not legal in Pendor.

You do realised that you can change your minister at any time right? Why not just appoint a companion and switch them around once in a while. Or even better, why not just appoint a companion that you don't use or can't use due to companion incompatibility.

I don't know about PoP, but in vanilla, shield on back simply adds a damage resistance bonus to your armor. The formula is (armor = armor value + shield resistance value + 10). So say if you have 40 armor and a shield of 20 resistance. If an arrow hits that shield on your back, the game will calculate your armor value to be 70. Hence, you will take less damage. It doesn't say in the code that this formula is exclusive to players or companions, so its fair to assume that it applies to everyone.

got her as a reward for a village quest. Can`t have her following(slows party down) and if I order her to wait she disappears when I`m back in the vicinity. Don`t want to slaughter her either. So what`s the idea behind her? We do not have agricultural exibitions in Pendor as of yet, unfortunately.

Is the masterwork Noldor composite bow worth using? The masterwork quality adds 5 damage to the 32 base. That's 36 damage. However, since the masterwork version has power-draw requirements of 10, it no longer benefits from the 14% damage bonus per level from having power-draw stats above the power-draw requirement of the bow. So a level 6 Noldor bow with the power-draw bonus would do 49.92 damage.
Am I missing something? What's the point of having a masterwork noldor composite bow?

Indeed. The term Janissary refers specifically to the elite Turkish guards of the Ottoman empire. Not only is this culturally inappropriate (since Barclay feels European to me), the use of real historical naming terms in a fantasy setting is quite jarring. Why? Because these terms are almost inseparable from their historical context. When I hear the word Janissary, I immediately think of enlightenment age Turkey. Just like Old guard conjures up images of Napoleonic France. The use of such terms detract from the immersion of being in a fantasy setting. I suggest renaming it to something more appropriate.

I have a qualis gem and I want to found the Ebony Gauntlet. However, upon establishing the order, the armor that the knight has on is not the set that I want. Is the armor for that location predetermined or will the set be different if I fast forward a month?

ALT F4 save scum, hahaha. The workaround for all single save / life games. 

You need to fight with as few soldiers as possible (since loot is split among the party). So ideally, you want to garrison all your troops and part ways with your companions.
Now to get the doomguide leather or the ebony saber, I would fight Three Seer patrols (around 20 men). These patrols usually have 1 Doomguide and several Bloodsworn witches. If you defeat the party solo, there is a high chance that you'll get a rare loot (provided you have high looting skills).

So if you're up to the point where you're character can solo small parties, then it shouldn't be too hard to get those items.

Definitely not the Noldor Longsword. I personally favor the Strange Ebony Sabre for that extra damage and speed. However, it's not available for your CKO by default, you have to unlock it from Burilgi the Usurper, so take that into consideration. If you don't plan to waste a Qualis Gem for his other unlocks either, then the Ebony Long Sword is the way to go, without any question.

Mmmmm, the thing is, my knights are actually using the Ebony Long Sword. I defeated Burilgi to get the darkwood bow, but now I also got the Ebony Saber. It looks pretty cool, though I'm not sure whether the shorter reach and the terrible thrust damage make a difference?

It doesn't matter in a blob situation, but it goes matter in 1v1 cav engagements. My Valkyrie with dragon spire axes often struggle against Rogue Blackheart Knight's runed bastard sword. They would ride up next to the enemy, only to hit air while the rogue knight demolish them.

Overall, the dragon spire axe is a powerful weapon, but in 1v1 cav fights, I'm not so certain.

Default go to weapon for all my puppets.

I find the Ruby 1-handed sword the best overall. Long enough to use from horseback and still have enough piercing damage to kill most enemies with one hit.
