  1. What do you think about the new new skill system?

I really think Taleworlds could help themselves if they separate skill progression more from global leveling. That was the case in Warband, weapon master and every weapon skill. If you had crossbow 111 or 376 played no role for the global level and had nothing to do with your attributes.

I want that back. I don't like the hard connection between skill points learned by experience and skill points needed to gain the next level and therefore another focus point and another attribute point.

    My suggestion:

Each action that gives xp towards a skill could give the standard, unmultiplied xp into a global pool. That pool is a normal warband like xp pool for the level and therefore the attribute and focus points. They can now 100% freely decide how many xp are needed for the next level and adjust those numbers if needed without any backslash to skill learning.

And then they can do exactly what they are doing now with the focus point and xp multiplicator for each skill. So each skill can be fine tuned more independently.
  2. What do you think about the new new skill system?

SO you can just add one things:
All XP from your actions will go to global XP bank and that will provide you lvl up

I just dug up my age old forum account to post the same idea.

(and there is no difference between grow from 300 to 301 or from 5 to 6)

This is in fact the killer argument for the current leveling. For me we now actually have two possibilities

Option 1: your suggestion. Make leveling like warband with global XP. The Bannerlord skill system basically makes every skill like weaponmaster in Warband, and I love that aspect about learning in Bannerlord for all skills.

Option 2: Get rid of hard coded Skill points needed, but instead your 301st skill point needs to count more than the 6th one. This is basically what Skyrim does. It can be done with a global pool, but how and when it is fed is different.

I very much would prefer option 1, but option 2 would also solve the unfairness issue.

Please, Taleworlds, go to global xp as before in Warband, it solves basically all problems. Then you can freely adjust level progression by adjusting global xp needed and therefore can adjust available attribute and focus points.

And pretty much independent, just like each weapon skill in Warband was, you can also adjust the speed of learning skills, with the beauty that you can relatively freely adjust/tune each single skill different from others without having to worry about screwing up the global leveling.

Downloading now, soon to have fun. Thank you!

    Seen this fighting Forest Bandits:

Bandits with bows will nock an arrow, start to draw, then stop half way and nock another arrow, lather, rinse, repeat, never loosing one of them. You can be on perfectly level ground with clear line of sight, and they'll keep doing this. One or two will actually loose, but the others keep nocking, half-drawing, and nocking again. It makes Forest Bandits rather easy to take down (tho considering that I've been seeing bandits operating in MASSIVE armies of 200+ that's also a good thing since it keeps them manageable... Some people might find that a bit cheap, tho).

Not sure if it happens with other archer units, but definitely seeing it with the FBs.

I'm seeing exactly the same thing, only with forest bandits though. I've started a fresh save and it's the same thing. Any solutions?

Update: Happened with Kmets, but then I stood within 10 feet of them and started shooting them, after a couple of minutes they decided to let their arrows go. Ill test but I think it's sorted. I think it's a bug from Native.

EDIT: And again oddly. Happens every time I start a new game.

Finally discovered whats causing this, as it was driving me mad. Tried reinstalling restarting always the same. And low and behold it is caused by forming a shield wall, 100% of the time go against any bandit type form a sheild wall and they will be unable to fire any arrows, just a looping animation of draw nock repeat. not sure if its native issue too, as i don't play native.

Although this ist half a year old: Thank you thank you thank you. It drove me mad, too. It seems that from now on bandits have to be fought without formations.

Oh and as I did search for quiet a while I will help others who are using the search function to find this.
    archers not firing
    archers do not fire
    archers not shooting
    archers do not shoot
    archers do not loose arrows

That's a feature. Westeros is a very dangerous continent in these times where it is only save to travel in large groups of armed men.

    Hi,

grat mod, I enjoy playing it a lot, after I more or less missed the 0.7 and 0.8 versions. Thank you!

Oh, and as it was asked for: neighbouring names/companions dislike each other.

There are just too many cities compared to the 22 companions. Your search could take a while. Maybe (just a guess) there are ~60 cities, so that means roughly that every third inn has a companion. And if you are unlucky it's really not that unlikely to have to visit quiet a few cities just to meet one.

After I jumped the 0.7 version I am now back in. So far: Very nice gameplay, thanks a lot!
  8. SP Fantasy [WB] A Game of Thrones

Long time no visit for me. But my timing could not have been better, the first three postings in this thread are very informative. Thanks a lot!
  9. A Song of Ice and Fire

In the TV series it is Joffrey without Cersei knowing. IIRC in the books the reader simply does not know for sure if it is Cersei's or Joffrey's idea. Or did I miss/forgot something?

Very, very cool so far! Thanks a lot!

One question which must be on all our minds, will you be able to feed your captive's genitalia to the goats?

That one made my day. First because you have a very good point about the importance of some things asked for here and second because I had to think about the scene from the series where, unfortunately, there was no goat available when perhaps needed
  14. SP Fantasy [WB] A Game of Thrones

The Floris mod has foraging as a (party-) skill. Every point in it brings up to 5 food. Foraging near settlements is more lucrative than far away from them. It works pretty nice.
  15. SP Fantasy [WB] A Game of Thrones

    wohaaaa, nice work.

And one Lannister armour from LegionaireR... so you are finished with Dorne?
  16. SP Fantasy [WB] A Game of Thrones

Hunterwolf has a very good point: this thread is now 317 pages long. If there are dozens of pages in it which do not contain any mod-related things only book/series related offtopic it will be very hard to find the things in between that are mod related. That should not be the case.

The problem was not existent on page 50 because fewer people posted. Now the mod seems to be quiet popular and more people post. So there is, at least in this thread, less room for everyone's offtopic. Including of course my own; but I heard you, team!

Well, yes, but some major houses also have bannermen. the reeds have like 8 other crannog houses for example.

I think that's implemented with this (from first page):

New Call to Arms feature. Quoting Hurleur:

"The system , is simple , when you are lord of a castle (or a town) and your kingdom is at war , you can call some little landed knight (right now 2) randomly chosen in a pool (4 vassal are set per kingdom , 1weak , 12 middle and 1 strong).

They join your party with some other troop (10 per vassal ) and after a limited duration (40 day now ) they return to home.
The only bad thing about the system is that each vassal come with olny 1 type of troop
    for ex vassal1+10 footmen , vassal2+10archer...etc"
  18. SP Fantasy [WB] A Game of Thrones

    Welcome to the forums.

You are right: They did not manage to get all of the second book in season 2. But for me personally, I have less problems with the big changes which are due to funding and time but several small changes which I don't understand. But perhaps I am just *****ing around .
But let's say it this way: The episode with fewest changes and the episode which did every important detail right was the episode George himself wrote. No surprise there.

Next book is two seasons long and that will help a lot to do it right. And I still think the producers want to do it as original as possible, but this season was just harder to do it.
