Largest stable companion parties in Brytenwalda (spoilers)

I have quite a few companions, chiefly because they don't die, and are quite a bit cheaper than other troops. I've never really noticed a huge drop in loot.

    Raiders Disappearing

Never seen Scotto Raiders. The point was, Dena Raiders and Frankish Raiders belong to factions outside the game. They aren't bandits. Maybe Scotto Raiders aren't either, I don't know. As I said, not a major thing, but I think there is a clear distinction there.

They don't? They did in original M&B, but I guess that might have been a subject to change then.

Well it's a bit hard to test since loot is random, but Idibil seems to know his way about the game scripts pretty well and I believe he said it made no difference. I could be wrong about that though.

Basically I think loot is calculated along the same lines as renown gain for battles. The higher the renown bonus, the more loot you get. And renown bonus, so far as I know, is based entirely on respective party sizes.

    Raiders Disappearing

What I am saying is, Dena Raiders, Frankish Raiders, and outlaw criminals are really three different things. It seems absurd that they're all grouped under one faction. If I kill Frankish Raiders who are attacking my fiefs around Cantaware, why do Dena Raiders care? If I enforce the law by killing outlaws in my lands, why should that anger Frankish Raiders?

It's not really important, but it's a minor change that would be nice.

I personally take all the heroes because they dont die, it saves money, and there is nothing like seeing your level 4 hero luckily killing a dena raider
They take a huge part of your loot. In the end, they might be more expensive than regular troops.

I don't think that's true. I don't think companions take any more of your loot than regular troops.

Because I dont' see how I treat Frankish Raiders should have any effect on my relationship with outlaws or Dena Raiders.

    Raiders Disappearing

I don't like the idea of having Dena Raiders and Frankish Raiders belong to the generic Outlaw faction. The Outlaw faction should be actual outlaws, not generic raiders.

Idibil, would it be possible to have Dena Raiders and Frankish Raiders moved to their own factions?

Can you be MEGA OP during lategame?

Not really. The cost of maintaining an army of super troops is quite high. Dena Raiders aren't that expensive to maintain, but keeping an army full of them is going to be time consuming and difficult. Also the lords have pretty big armies in some cases, and just feeding a large army can be a challenge. So yes, you probably can beat them, it's never going to be a walk in the park, you'll take losses. It does depend quite a bit on your difficulty settings though.

    Raiders Disappearing

They might have lower morale if you have poor relations with their faction.

Nowadays many teenagers are in there just because they want the achievements. M&B Warband has achievements. Some people might not enjoy a roleplay aspect. Games that are popular with minors usually completely lack a roleplay effect and any depth at all(like CoD and BF).

Be fair, CoD & BF appeal to noobs of all ages.

That's entirely possible. I have 16gb of ram, so that might explain why I have never experienced this problem.

Sorry dude, based on your information I can't figure it out. All I can tell you is you're not the only person who's had the problem, if you google the error code there are lots of people with it. The trouble seems to be that noone has a solution. I would probably blame the ATI card. ATI have quite terrible drivers, which is a shame because they are great cards otherwise. Sorry I couldn't fix it for you

    Diplomacy is all screwed up

Diplomacy mod is included in BW, but it's Idibil didn't write it, he just included it. So you really need to take it up with the Diplomacy Mod crew.

There's your problem. Warband is DX9 only and you don't seem to have a DX9 adapter. So either you need to install DX9.0c (if you haven't already), or else you need to install an older version of the ATI drivers. You can also run dxdiag and see what you get.

EDIT: Nvm, mine says the exact same hting and it works fine. Curiouser and curiouser. Still run dxdiag and see what you get tho.

Alright, I have done some reading, and it seems that it might be a memory issue. Prior to playing BW, did you have the problem? Try running it in DX7 mode. Also try running it in DX9 mode, with as few apps running in the background as possible, and ragdolling and corpses set to minimum.

Also tends to suggest a graphics driver problem. I still suggest rolling back your video drivers.

    Vendel era

Here in Sweden we recently had the ruling coalition make a rather insane compromise on immigration policy with the environmentalists (they are basically open borders type fellows, now apperantly illegal immigrants have a right to free healthcare on better terms than citizens, even though they don't pay the taxes that finance it, aswell as the ability to legally start up their own businesses, although noone seems to know how that would work in practise) just to make sure that the Sweden Democrats would not in any way or shape get a say in the matter, even if it would just have been a vote for the right wing coalition.
    [/quote]

    Aren't politics fun?

So whats the deal with Swedish immigration. Can I just turn up or something? Or do I need to be fleeing death in my homeland? Does the local fauna count?

Not really. I recall the Gallic smiths themselves making the Imperial Gallic Helm.

You must have a long memory.

Will you make new combat animation for brytenwalda?

That seems unlikely. I don't think anyone on the modding team has animation skills and Idibil is planning on finishing work on the mod soon. Version 1.39 will be mostly bug fixes and 1.40 will be the final version.

RGL_config is under Documents\Mount&Blade Warband, on Windows 7. Im not sure where RGL_log is, ive never had to find it myself. Im sure someone else can tell you that. Its probably in your M&B folder under program files tho.

Well in my scenario, companions wouldn't argue at all, so you could have as many as you could reasonably afford. Companions would just be uniquely skilled troops. I always thought the way companions fought was remarkably unprofessional anyway, and only made sense in the context of an adventuring party.
