  1. Mouse cursor locked on the screen

I have the same problem, no idea how to solve it.

Edit. After a bit more searching through the forums, I found a solution that works (for me at least). I had my desktop enlarged (since I'm sitting further back from my screen than I used to) and that apparently froze the cursor. Returning the desktop size to 100 % solved the issue (though it's straining my eyes now to see the small icons).

    Baltic people.

Note: This is based on linguistic traits, not necessarily reflecting the ethnicity of the people.

(Moeckerkalfie, you may want to move this conversation into another thread).

I'll quote the source you gave me before I too stop posting out of respect for the original topic of the thread.

"Many other Eastern and Southern Balts either assimilated with other Balts, or contributed to the formation of the Slavs in the 4th-7th centuries, and were gradually slavicized."

Sorry for getting to off topic, I hope it didn't cause to much grief.

I don't dispute your map (even though I think the Livonians are set a bit to far north and it doesn't show the Estonians =P),
but I cannot remember ever reading anything that has said that they people south of Düna/Daugava are anything else than
of slavic origin. If you have, please show it to me.

And the reason I brought Pommeranians etc. into the discussion was as an example of distinct slavic cultures (might have been
mistaken about the Czechs btw.) in similarity to the many baltic tribes, that though they might have certain distinctive features,
it doesn't have to mean that they are not slavic in origin.

Nonsense! The Lithuanians and Latvians have their own distinct language and culture. They are Baltic people, not Slavs!

Pommeranians, Slovaks, Czech and Prussians all have/had distinctive cultures and languages, but they are of slavic origins.
But I better see if I can find that old map of the spread of slavic people in Europe.

As on the naming question. Aren't Balts Slavic people?
Nope. They had separate culture back then.

Doesn't that depend on if you mean Estonians, who has a Finnish-Ugric language and several other cultural similarities with the Finns. Or Latvians and Lithuanians who has slavic languages and cultures.

I know that there were quite a few more tribes back then (semi-galls for example) but I'm speaking of the geographical regions of today's baltic nations.

My guess would be the Pommeranians. Though the king of Sweden from the 1500's to today is "Svears, Götars och Vendes konung" (the King of Swedes, Goths and Wend), so theoretically, they are still around, whomever they are =)

If this is a comment on my post. The Rus were said to have traveled from Sweden and under Rurik later founded Russia.

I would not be surprised however if there are more than one group with the same or a similair name. But it is also
impossible to put a 19th-20th century racial stamp on any group at this time. What you can do is say that one or
another group had a germanic, scandinavian or slavic culture.

What about Svend vikings then? Isn't that the tribe Sweden took it's name from?

"Svear" as they are called in Sweden (Sweden being called "Sverige" in swedish, a derevative of "Svea Rike" or "Kingdom of Swedes" )are said to have lived a bit further inland. You have to remember that Sweden originally consisted of approx. 13 tribes which over time melded into primarily "Svear" and "Götar".
  9. Slavic research

Ruser are thought to be an originally Swedish tribe that is believed to have lived around present day Stockholm (founded during the 13th century)
and given Sweden it's Russian and Finnish name (Sweden is called "Ruotsi" in Finnish). There are no written sources that I know of, but it's rather
a hypothesis among historians and it seems plausible since Finland were among the first to come into contact with the Swedes who primarily expanded
    eastward.

PS. The name Sweden coming much later, not until the 11th-12th century. Before that it's an ever consolidating group of peoples.

Would you include the Wends in this group, Dragomir, or are they so different that they would need their own faction if we were to implement it?

I generally think the slavs are far underappreciated in history, I just remember the Obodrites (which were wendic) just like that pillaged Hedeby in 1068, and marched through contintental saxon territory for that  :???:
I also read that to some part their power in the baltic grew so much that even the swedes had to take precautions against their raids.
I personally think the only reason why they find so little regard is that their ancestors are so germanized (I am still talking about the Wends here) that they don't associate with them anymore at all, and thus they don't really have a "lobby" in modern historical perception...

Let's not forget that the Vends lived along most of the Pommerianian coast and today's Polish coast. So from a Scandinavian perspective, they are more relevant than the Polish. With a wider perspective, it is their cities that create the Hanseatic leage that dominated trade on the Baltic sea for centuries and the first king of the Kalmar union (personal union between Sweden, Norway and Denmark 1397-1521) were Pommeranian (Erik av Pommern).

Let's not forget that it took the combined might of Denmark and Saxony to seize the pommeranian coast and then the Vend's were assimilated into the new societies rather then outright conquered and driven away (Nationalism and racism wasn't really an issue at this time, the official argument being their paganism, so they needed to be converted to Christianity and it didn't hurt to get access to their rich trade either). When it comes to technology, they were on equal footing with the invading Saxons and Danes of the late 11th century, though I do not know exactly what they did and did not have.

I.e. I am for an implementation of the Vends too.

  14. SP Musket Era Neo Native (v1.35 en/ger)

The proper name of Vyborg at the time was Viborg. Dünaburg was a very important fortress at the time (perhaps more in name than in practical matters as the fortress proved to be antiquated when faced with modern artillery) as it guarded an importent crossing of the river Düna.

I'm not certain if it matters, but Königsberg and Eastern Prussia was part of Brandenburg, allied with Sweden at the start of the Swedish campaign and
later switched sides to ally with Poland-Lithuania to help drive the Swedish back (gaining valuable land from the polish in the process) and not part
    of the Kingdom of Sweden.
  15. Ideas/Suggestion to Mount & blade With fire and Sword.

Speaking of realism, reload times should have more to do with reloading skill rather than type of lock.
As an example, the swedish army primarily used matchlocks until the 1670-80's and still they had
a higher rate of fire than most other armies due to it's superior training. When they did turn to
flint locks, they didn't scrap the old muskets, they simly changed the locks on them.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the composition of Swedish infantry companies was 2/3rds musketeers
1/3 pikemen. The doctrine relying on fire and mobility in similarity to the Dutch doctrine concieved
    by Moritz of Oranien.

Another thing I would like to see added to WF&S, how about some spell correction for the Swedish
noblemen? Lewenhaupt and Bjielke are famous generals and fieldmarshals, not Lebenhaubt and
Bjolke. (if anyone knows of a way I can change this myself, I would be glad to know).

One more thing I forgot to write in the first place. Mercenaries at the time were quite infamous for
gladly changing sides when captured, since they were first and foremost loyal to their purse. So
my suggestion is that any captured mercenaries should gladly join you if you capture them and
    vice versa.

Swedes hold units of other nations: black brown uniforms - Germany, berets and green lattice - the Scots, red musketeers - the Finns.

Finns are not from another nation, just the eastern part of Sweden (Finland didn't become an independent nation until 1917).
Swedish regiments wearing red at the time (that I know of) would be the Livgrenadjärerna (Lifegrenadiers) of Östergötland
and Dalregementet (Regiment of Dalarna). The general sign of recognition as swedish soldiers in battle was either a piece of
yellow cloth around your right arm, a pine twig or small bundle of straw(halmkärve) in your hat. That and of course the regimental banner which each regiment
    followed into battle.

    Sorry for necroing.

I don't know how difficult this would be to accomplish, but I noticed when one is wearing the hide armor they look pretty buff. This made me think of having different sized characters. Everyone is uniformly the same height/width. Perhaps increasing mucle mass/definition in relation to strength/agility stats. It might make it fun to take down some huge enemies in battle, or being a huge enemy. This also goes along with someone elses idea of having custom fit armour. Giving the black smith his original purpose. But I don't know how much of a pain that will be.

It would be possible but it's MAJOR work to do something like that. I think you'd have to make a different set of armor/clothes for every body size/shape. Even multimillion games like TES4: Oblivion have just two bodies (humanoid man/woman)...

Until the technology improves so that almost anyone can include body-adjusting clothes/armor in their games Taleworlds are better off focussing on the engine than minor esthetic issues.

I would like to point out that your body proportions change, depending on fitness, in GTA: San Andreas.
  18. Armour Piercing & ground pikes

    Bor-defendor 说:
i think grounding the spike would only make sence if we dealt with fromations of pikemen. As is, you can get a long spear, wait for the horesemen to come at you and thrust as he charges you. His own speed will give your damage bonus. Though i think the type of damage should also be considered "couched" since the speed at which the horesemens lance would have hit you is actually the same at which the knight owuld have impaled himself on your pike. But you don't need to ground it as is right now, everything works perfectly well without it. you have even mroe mobility as a spear man righ now

Thrusting while grounding a weapon is impossible. I would suggest that you ground your spear/pike etc. automatically after standing still for, say 5-10 seconds and any movement done, except mouseturning, would break the grounding.
  19. Lance couched damage "punch"

Remember that a human body only contains approx. 5 litres of blood.
  20. Helmet with realistic view ports

I don't think there would be much of a difference if you added a "helmet view" since, if you play in first person view, you already loose most of you indirect vision (not sure what it's called in english). All you'd really had to add is something to obstruct your view in the upper and lower part of the screen, depending on helmet type

It might have been mentioned before, but I don't have the time to read the entire thread right now.
