    Early game tips?

Assuming you are starting as "No one" and not a vassal noble:

    1) If you already have a future faction in mind to join, then you can join a lord's army and follow them into battle for building relations and cheap money. Pick up swords in battle as they are worth a bit
    2) Leave after you've got some exp and sell equipment for dosh
    3) Go round European cities and asking guild masters for quests; try to get the escort caravan missions; recruit a company of mercenaries and do the missions for easy money and exp
    4) Repeat 3) and kill bandits while you can; once you've accumulated money you can invest in enterprises (ironworks, weavery etc) for steady income
    5) Once you're happy try to join a faction as mercenary captain, or if you have the renown already, as a vassal

After that, you're in the long game of trying to build up your manor and your army and it's a different story

    Can't build regional manor?

This always boggled my mind, why can't manors and your own castle be visible on the map? why do they need to appear only when you scout?

Either that or it needs to be explicitly indicated that you have one.

Regional Manor - a guide for peasant on how things work

Stupid question but where on earth do I actually choose to build a manor? The first post here says you need 10k but where do I actually select to build?

My guess is they just searched for images they think would coincide with their game, probably didn't mean any harm and just liked some of Taleworlds awesome art-work.

I see your cynicism is lacking; we should clearly take these guys to court. Think of the free travel and food.

No idea what it was, but there's your link ^

Yeah it just pisses me off when they rip off a game like this, why don't they go copy something like age of empires instead which is long gone?

    I vote for parliamentary change.

    13 men defending? what?

    MJPdiablo 说:
800 soldiers ,all coming at you at once ,while you have only 53 ? A good hit,one is down. A nice placed arrow and another's down.A quick slash and the third is dead and so on. And in no time ,you are going to face alone 600-700. OOOOkay ,let's say 500,but i'm not sure you can resist that much.

No not really. And even so, It's more fun killing off 100-200 then killing 15 and getting captured. Plus I don't need the trouble of going back to find my men, out of sentimental value, of course.

Also, I was playing on easiest mode for that campaign, so yeah, quite manageable.

You are one and they are ......many ..what do you expect .There are more than 5 lords there ,it's like in real life .Be happy that you don't have to fight 800 at once .

That would be better, at least i can have a wall of men hacking away at a bottleneck!

    Can't beat the first mission

Started off in Ravenstern (sp?) with 1/4 damage to me and 3/4 damage to allies. Got me about 11 recruits and attacked the band of 4 robbers. Ran around with my horse shooting the unarmoured guys, started shooting the big berserker bastard with a 2H axe. Shot him about 8 times and thought "hey he...

What happens? Does it open a texture sheet for one cube, and then another one for the 2nd cube, as opposed to two being on  the same sheet?

I'm a bit confused. I have a model of a tower consisting of two cubes. How do I UV map them in a way that makes the texture be in the same file, instead of two different textures.

When you select one cube and click UV mapping, then continue onto projection normal, it should appear on the UV map. minimise the window and do the same for the next cube; you should have both cubes on the same texture sheet.

    Was the Soviet Union Communist?

Can't think of any who did. Unless the confusion is coming in from the Soviet economy itself, which was maximising production as an attempt to spur industrialisation across the union. It wasn't necessary or indeed a goal, simply a side effect from attempting to bring nations of goat herders who's society had changed little since Alexander the Great was stomping about the place into a modern industrial nation. In fact it's one of the problems that caused the downfall of the USSR, too many factories dedicated to infrastructure and industrialisation and very few producing consumer goods.

I know Ernest Mandel did because I read a chapter out of one his books on the matter.

Wish the engine looked like this

Secondly, increasing graphics (model poly count, texture sizes, the shizzle) also increases the lag on systems a lot, if you still want to have 200+ vs 200+ battles.

Well done for figuring that out.

Wish the engine looked like this

Skyrim is not a game, it's an alternate perception of life given to us by another God.

But yeah, Warband just needs better animations and up to date graphics. All those really nice blood effects aren't needed. I wouldn't know but I'd assume Warband's engine has been optimized for a 5+ year old system and not of today's.

And why the hell would you want modern age warfare for this series? Walk around London and Paris recruiting scythe-wielders until they upgrade to rifleman and run around the battlefield waiting for covering fire to advance on enemy machine gun nests whilst tanks roll in and rocket artillery bombard the enemy off screen and fighter planes soar across the sky and batter you with aerial fire whilst your SAM's take them down and then **** it I can't be arsed to finish....

It sounds like you either need to turn the battle size up or get a few more levels in tactics. Or make a heroic last stand and hold them off long enough for Ragnar to arrive with all the lords at his back to mow them down.

    13 men defending? what?

So I captured a castle from the Nords and placed 53 men as garrison. stayed there for a while and i get besieged by 800 men, they attack and I only have 13 men to defend it. i die and respawn with some health and i still only get 13 men. seriously, what the hell? i'd rather have 50 men vs a few...

    Was the Soviet Union Communist?

according to some marxist writers, capitalism maximises profit whilst socialism maximises productivity/volume. A lot of the time these things go hand in hand, but not necessarily.

for example, a country needs its iron but the corporations export it for money, so government takes over and keeps the iron in the country. or the fascist alternative is to force the corporations to not export it but they still have ownership.

i have no clue where this thread is going now.
