This just got posted on reddt, is this fixed in POP?

A good suggestion, fighting heretic/snake army is not worth it, which is why i never bother with it, you defeat a entire army just to loot the Heretic Minions equipments, now, if the devs are gonna implement it into the mod... that i don't know, PoP Devs behave in a very mysterious way, watch your back boi, you never know whats going to happen next.

Hello, and thanks for the help!

    1. How do I garrison them at castles or towns so I can proceed on without them for a bit? Do I need to own the castle or town first, or have close standings with the lord before the option appears?

    2. The custom Knighthood Order sounds incredible interesting (hope it isn't end game late though) but I'll google the morghs thing next, thank you!

    3. Ah, okay that makes sense. I was thinking I was missing specific option commands because I was low level on something or might have broke something on installing the module. That is very simple! I'll try that next on a battle. I've been trying to get my archers to become more effective but it was a little difficult to make them fall in line with my ranks.

1 - Yes, you have to own the castle or town to garrison units in there, otherwise the only option is disbanding your units (don't do that), its not worth all the trouble just for a quest, if you have high skills in melee you can usually sneak into a fief even if the guards try to stop you.

2 - It is one of the coolest things to do in this mod, Not very late game, but it takes a while to make them stronger, since you create the order, you also have to provide training and time to improve your order skills, and you have to buy equipments for them (Very expensive), but by the end, they have the potential to become one of the best unit in the mod.

3 - Using commands can be quite hard if you're not used to it, if you don't know, Holding F1 makes you put a flag to where you're looking instead of where you currently are, a good tip if you didn't know.

I have some questions (first time playing this).

    1) Is it possible to set camp for my men? I got a quest from a king to sneak into another fraction's castle to talk to a spy and was told to leave my men behind to do so (pretty large force, keep getting spotted), but I don't want to disband my amazing party. I can't seem to figure it out though. Is it not possible?

    2) Is it possible to equip my soldiers (not companions) with specific high grade weapons? I know I can't make them equip something they can't use (like a crossbowman won't use a spear) but is it possible to buy them fancy/better gear and force them to wear it like you can do with companions?

    3) When in battle and creating formations, is possible at some point after leveling tactics or whatever is responsible for it, to have a shield wall or ranks form and then have archers take up lines behind them? I've been googling it but I haven't found the answer. It could be because of how I'm wording myself but I'm not entirely sure if this game has that kind of "coding" (probably also the wrong wording here).

    Thanks for reading!

    (also, loving this module! )
1 - Nope, you can garrison them on castles or towns but you can't ''leave/camp'' them behind and go alone in the castle., what you should do is convince one of the castle villages to set a big fire on the outskirts to attract the attention of the castle/city guards.

2 - Your soldiers? nope, but you can create a Custom Knighthood Order late in the game where you can equip them with nearly all the items in the game, OR if you really want to change a soldier equipment you will have to edit their inventory with morghs.

3 - Tactics only increase the number of soldiers you can field in battle against a enemy stronger than you (Bigger numbers, so you have more deployed), but you can just order Infantry with shield to hold position, stand closer and stand ground (have to micro them a bit with stand ground since they like to stand at the place they killed their enemies instead of going back to the original position), and just order your archers to hold position and spread out behind the infantry, as simple as that.

Nal Tar / Torbah tournaments are hardcore

??????? this is definitely the safest tournaments in pendor, all infantry melee tournaments are the hardest, all mounted archers/skirmishers are the easiest.

    What i do is

1 - Walk my horse behind enemy (That usually gets stuck in wall), aim at head and shoot, you can't miss a shot so close, and even with Low archery proficiency and no power draw you can still do a lot of damage if you shoot at the head that close.

2 - If high skills in melee, power strike and etc.. then u can just kill everyone with the club, use horse speed to your advantage, no matter what weapon you use and how bad the damage is, with the horse speed bonus it can deal a lot of damage, never stay stationary on horse with a crappy weapon, always move left and right near the enemy, i keep cycling the front of the enemy horse and they go down in 1~4 hits with club.

3 - Its the safest tournament type to go, its VERY HARD to die in a tournament like that, the only bad thing about it is that it takes more time to finish than other types of tournaments, and if you have low proficiency and archery skills then it takes more time, but if you have high melee then its not a problem even with a club.

Most enemies in these type of tournaments get stuck in a wall, which makes them very easy to kill, i like to do these tournaments to raise my archery skill.

Now, a hard tournament is the Fierdsvain ones, nothing worse than getting your team killed and ganged by a group of Valks, knights of dawn and krakens, but that is just a matter of RNG, if you're lucky you get a good team, if you're not lucky you get a team of ''Fighters'' of different ranks.

Point 4 is not guaranteed - player may get castle or not.
As a marshall player can command forces of the other lords on the battlefield.
After successful siege player can ask 1, 2, 3 ... lords to go to that castle, which should give player enough time to collect soldiers (hire mercenaries, take from own fief etc.) and reinforce new garrison.

In 3.9.1 switch campaign AI to easy and enemy will leave less soldiers in conquered fiefs.
Maybe i was just overthinking, my last try at being a marshall traumatized me for sure, everything was going wrong, i take a castle and enemy marshal takes another, i go there recapture and a random lord retakes my castle mentioned before and insta garrison, my faction was slowly getting crippled and that made me overthink a little bit, still, its much easier just not being the marshall and minding my own business since my fiefs are 90% of the targets for a enemy campaign.

''After successful siege player can ask 1, 2, 3 ... lords to go to that castle, which should give player enough time to collect soldiers (hire mercenaries, take from own fief etc.) and reinforce new garrison.'', that's true but still, its much easier to refuse the marshallship and let AI just siege and get 400 garrison for free, but you're right, as me being the player it envolves more risks, the AI can steamroll 5 fiefs in a roll (Experienced this first hand), but the player can steamroll forever if let, so i guess its pretty understandable.

Suggestion : Player Custom Mercenary Company.

I would like to suggest a Custom mercenary company that you can create when you have 90+ RtR, its a Mercenary company that has 0 troops (And a leading NPC), but you can give the mercenary company any troop you want, Of course, you have to pay the full price for the army and a extra 5~10k? to keep the mercenaries with you.

Since the entire mercenary company starts with nothing but a leader NPC and depends on the player for the troops and wages, you could give and take any unit you want, so for example, i give them 50 pendor bladesman, and after some time i take them back at any moment, the troop size is limited based on some type of factor you guys think would be best, or you can appoint one of your companion as the leader of the mercenary company.

Its probably gonna be refused but anyway, it doesn't hurt to try.

I take over castle, 0 troops.
    Enemy... 400
    Whyyyyyyyyyy?
Because you are more intelligent then AI.
Player getting no garrison is fine, but what about giving the AI Garrison when the player take over and give ownership to faction lord?

Take over castle, o troops, Okay, i see no problem in that.
Enemy... 400, again, no problem in that.

Player Take Over castle, ask no rewards and king gives ownership to the player, continues with 0 garrison (This is fine, working as intended)
Player take over castle, ask no rewards and king gives ownership to AI LORD of my faction, castle now has 400 Garrisson, what do you think about that?

Right now its not worth it being a marshall exactly because of that, why be a marshall and cripple your own faction, Losing troops and making your lords weaker because of sieging, etc.. just to get a 0 garrison castle you can't protect, when you can just refuse the Marshalship and AI Lord summon a campaign, take a castle and get 400 Garrison.

    In my faction:
One side we have, Player + Marshall = 0 Garrison in faction military campaign, which makes safe keeping the newly acquired castle nearly impossible, if you refuse to safekeep the castle a random lord will siege and get it, if you safekeep the castle the enemy marshall will just siege one of your fiefs and you will have to go there defend, meanwhile a wandering lord with 100 soldiers just passed by the castle you were safekeeping and took it back, ''400 Garrison'' magically appears, Heyyy, now i have to siege and cripple my faction even more to get the castle back.

At the other side we have, My Faction AI Lord + Marshall = 400 Free Garrison when he sieges and take over fief, as you said, player is more intelligent since i can just convince the marshall to take fief and ask the king for the town/castle and get 400 garrison for free, but what is the fun in that.

Seriously tho, you can exploit just the same as before, the Player 0 garrison don't actually work if you're smart.

1 - Talk to friendly lord, ask him to siege a castle or town you want
2 - Follow close behind him and reinforce him in siege, win the battle and since your friend was the one that actually laid siege, the town now has 400 garrison.
3 - Ask the king for the Town/castle your friend just got.
    4 - ???
    5 - Profit.

That is why Horse Archers AI is disabled by default. Besides I am not sure why do you use Knights counter fast Jatu Raiders- maybe mix them with some fast cavalry.
I don't use knights to counter fast jatu raiders, since there's only the raiders left in the Jatu army i just charge my Knights at them, the problem is, against 100+ HA, any ''fast'' knight or cavalry will quickly be dehorsed or killed and Heavy knights can't reach and eventually die as well (Unless the HA hit a tree or whatever), unless you have a army of cavalry to counter the jatus, either way you will lose a lot of units, thats for sure, at the time i had a Sarleon army, with Halberdiers mixed with Man at arms (a lot of Halberdiers actually) but mostly were Archers, 20+ Ebony Gauntlet Knights, mettenheim crossbowmans and a lot of different upgraded foot archers (100+ archers in total, 400 Battle size), they still couldn't land a hit and after 5 min most of them run out of ammo or were killed by the jatu raiders, the archers managed to dehorse a few of them and killed the dehorsed HA but the rest was still alive and kicking.

IMO, HA AI is a must have for me because, disabled HA AI makes HA units just charge to their deaths, pretty much suicidal, and HA AI is fine, problem is Foot archer tracking can't land even a single hit on them, without the AI most HA units become a mindless creatures that can't decide what to do, some charge, some use the bow, some pull the bow in the middle of the blob and run directly in the direction of a knight and get killed, these kind of things.

Ps : I like the new HA AI, even tho its hard but thats exactly what i expected, it makes the strong points of some factions stand out, like the Dshars, and jatus, before the new Ai, i just charged into the Jatu army and it turned into a slugfest till everyone was dead, same with the dshars, you hardly saw someone shooting with a bow and living long enough to kill someone, i just think that foot archers would be a little smarter and try to shoot ahead of the horse and not at the tail of the horse.

One of the greatest features I'd like to see is an ability to somehow improve the values of CKO gear. This is because I like pick the outfit for looks or theme and not because of highest stats. The problem with that is my CKO would then be little better than some commoner troops of the which have the exact same or better gear. In addition I feel there's a dearth of top level gear that doesn't fit the "western european knight" category. For example I'm trying to make an middle east themed CKO that doesn't look like a WR/melitine clone, but the badass looking Jatu face mask I want to equip my sergeants with has only a piddling 49 defence. Which leads me to Morgh...and I don't want to do that if I can help it.

For example here's how I envision it could work.

Suppose you found a wicked looking hood at the bottom of the list, and you want your CKO's to equip it. Problem is, that hood offers a trash 18-20 HA expected of the "affordable helmets" category. You then ask your steward "I want to improve the tier of my KO's gear" for a set amount of denars. And lo and behold, after 30 days, the hood is decent enough to offer protection to your high level unit, as it now belongs to the "quality helmets" category in terms of its stats.

Of course you shouldn't be able to improve the value of an armor higher than the top tier of gear, otherwise people would be pushing their noldor bathrobes into the 80+ territory. In fact, for balance sakes, I think the armor piece should only be upgraded to a tier directly above it (and none at all if its already in the highest tier).

A problem that could arise is by exploiting this system. From my limited knowledge of how the mod works, if one type of gear has its stats changed, then all units in the game wearing this gear will be affected. For example, equipping your CKO with the same gear worn by mid level commoner troops, and then tiering it up, would then lead to commoner troops having top grade combat gear. Or ugh, fierdsvain berserkers with knight level armors.

One way this could be bypassed is by somehow flagging all types of gear worn by existing, easily recruited troops of major factions, and making it unavailable for tiering.  After all you probably don't want to equip your CKO's in what is commonly worn by basic troops anyway, right? On the other hand, if in my example, you made, say, a Jatu mask stronger by a tier, aside from CKO's that would only affect Jatu units (which are rare and hard for the player to amass), and this will always provide a greater challenge to the player. So the stat alterations shouldn't really be such a big problem.
I'm afraid that would make top-tier armors obsolete, beside the problem of unintentionally making other units that use the same armor pieces much stronger.

However, an option to get max modifiers (lordly or hardened) for the armor pieces of your CKO would be really nice, and that is possible to do independantly from other common units. Like Eyegrim and the 3 Seeress have items with best modifiers. Furthermore, I think there could be an option to increase the quality of the rest of their equipment as well, including all weapons, shields and horses too! :iamamoron:. Prices to do that could be huge amounts of money (for hiring expert blacksmiths), prestige points (like for the stat upgrades) or even a Qualis Gem or two. I would be willing to pay some gems for sure to get premium equipment for my CKO units.
+1, i also like to create a CKO based on a theme and matching armor, but in the end its not worth it, so you have to just go full noldor, or some top tier gear, so in the end, all CKO looks basically the same, it would be nice to get something other than a Clone of my CKO (not exactly a clone, but most parts are just the same with minor differences in gear) that i created in a previous saved game.

I think having the option to increase the quality of the item good, so for example, the Armor costs 100k, you pay a extra 500k (Whatever price the mod creators may think to be reasonable) to upgrade it to lordly, so whatever the price is, it would cost 5x that price to upgrade it to Lordly or Masterwork.

 I also would like to make a suggestion of my own here, i think the Foot Archers could get a buff, not in Stats or Gear, but in tracking accuracy, its being Nearly impossible to hit the New HA AI with archers, they just become sitting ducks for the HAs and they have a VERY HARD time getting a single arrow to even hit the horse, guess what happened? i just fought the jatu ''army'' for the noldors quest,  you might think the elites or strongest jatu units was the problem, NOOOO, far from it, easily killed them, but the 100 jatu Raiders (Yes, the raiders, the worst possible jatu unit) just soloed my 70+ Elite Foot archers, ON A HILL (Sarleon Armored archers + Ebony Gauntlet + a lot of good archers), without much losses, and that's because the archer can't land a hit because instead of shooting ahead of the horse, they shoot at the position the horse was, so by the time the arrow gets there the horse is already far ahead and easily avoided a arrow, so it makes the HA AI just circle around your Archers getting free kills, and you can't chase the HA with Knights (Because HA can outrun them), if the archers performed a little better, just a little bit, then i wouldn't be suggesting this, but by each HA my archers kill, they kill 10 of mine, even Ebony Gauntlet knights become sitting ducks before those jatu raiders, ridiculous :!:

    [BUGS] Support Thread for v3.9

I don't know for sure if this is a bug or a native feature BUT.

The marshall of my faction, when he calls everyone and a quest starts, he just don't do anything, he calls everyone, a lot of lords follow him (me included), and he do one of these 4 things after summoning everyone.

1 - He waits in the same place for a LONG time, unresponsive to whatever is happening with the kingdom (raiding and etc..), and after 3 days waiting he cancels the summon and all the lords go on their way and the quest ''Follow Marshall'' is complete.

2 - He summons, everyone follows him, he lay siege to a castle/town, and then out of nowhere, in the middle of sieging it, he just cancels the summon and everyone disperse.

    ZB2mK2N.jpg
    F7VV7m3.jpg

3 - He lay siege to a city/castle, out of nowhere he just stops laying siege and go to a village to raid, in the middle of it he just cancels the summon and every lord disperse.

4 - He cancels summon, 1 min later he is sieging a Town with no one following him, i got close to see what was going on and there was like 7 Lords following a Lord that wasn't even a marshall, and he was raiding a village, while the marshall was laying siege alone and then he just canceled the siege and moved on.

This is not something that is happening once in a while, ITS EVERY TIME, I will make it clear tho, THIS ONLY HAPPEN WHEN HE SUMMONS AND A QUEST APPEAR, if there's no quest or summon for the player, he do everything normal like a marshall should, Siege castles and ETc...., but if a Summon quest for the player appear, he just goes full retard and those 4 actions mentioned above is what happen.

Ps : Also check the Suggestions thread for the ''Player Marshall'' suggestion, in the current patch THERES No reason whatsoever to be a marshall, being the marshall is just crippling your own faction for no reason.

Ps : I never do any quest for the marshall, i just follow him, i don't scout or anything for him, just follows him, i don't know if it got anything to do with that, but even if it did, it should be fixed.

    Hi!

    I have a few questions:

    1. What are diamonds for?

    2. Is it possible to break away from a faction and take the fiefs with you somehow? I currently have five fiefs and would hate to lose them if I rebel.

    3. Are some troops restricted from being taken prisoners? I noticed that I never got serpent priestesses or fallen Meltine nobles (name?) as prisoners after I hit them on the head with my club.

    4. What is the benefit in training your stewards ten times over? (apart from the minor relations bonus) I noticed that I was getting engineering up to a certain point, now it's stuck at 4 after 4-5 training sessions. Do the other stats also matter somehow?

    5. Are Wolfbode/Maltise/others scripted to attack cities? Or is it random based on their proximity? I had Wolfbode attack Ravenstern when I was inside, but later I reloaded and he wouldn't attack it no matter how many times I kited him there.

    6. Do you get less money from bidding in a tournament based on how high the relations you have with the city where it takes place?

    7. How do you get Noldor pottery? Trade goods doesn't seem to be accepted by the elf in Elacrai.

    8. Did trade stop working as a party skill? "Various loot" stays at 1250 sell-price even though I increase my companions trade-skill.

    9. Is it better to have an enemy lord captured in your inventory if you have a high prisoner management skill? Or is it better to drop him off into a city/castle that has prison tower?

    10. Is there any other way to get more RtR other than peace with enemy factions? And also what's the recommended RtR before making your own faction?

    11. Is "Wealth" and "Reputation" supposed to show nothing for the player?

    12. Is there a list of all in-game achievements obtainable?

    Sorry for the wall-of-text!  :ohdear:
I will try to answer what i know, so here we go.

1 - Diamonds can be exchanged into Denars, just talk with the Guildmaster of any town and choose the option to Sell, you can also transform your denars in Diamonds, that was made for the purpose that even if you lose a battle, you don't lose a lot of denars, so for example, you buy a Big Diamond costing 100k+ and store it in your castle chest, so you don't to fear losing the money in battle.

2 - Yes, when you rebel if i'm not mistaken you take all your fiefs with you, so plan a lot and exchange fiefs with other lords to make them near each other, so when you rebel you don't have Fiefs separated across the map.

3 - Yes, some troops cannot be Knocked down, Fallen soldiers and Serpent are not living beings, so they cant be captured, and even if you ''kill'' them with a blunt weapon, they will just die instead, you can never capture these type of units.

4 - There's no such a thing as ''Training a Steward a number of times'', If you have 5 Engineer skill and you train him, he will update his skills to 5 Engineer, never past that, Every time you train your steward, he will have your skills level, so if you have only 5 point in engineer, no matter how many times you train him, he will never go past what you have, so to improve your steward, you have to improve your skills and then train him again to update his skills.

5 - Not scripted, just random, if they feel like attacking they will attack, also, keep in mind you can't force them to attack, so luring them near a town will not make them attack the town, they have to do it on their own, so kiting them near a town will just make them follow you, that can also happen to the player towns so be aware of that, for example, Laria is usually sacked by the Noldor armies, so be sure to have positive relations with them if you plan to take Laria for yourself, to avoid being attacked.

6 - Random, i don't think relations with the town influence the Reward, there's 3 types of Rewards in a Tournament (When you make a feast in a town this option shows to how much you wanna spend), so if the Lord of that Town made a expensive feast, then the tournament will give high rewards, something like that, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

7 - Noldor loot, defeat noldors and you have a chance to get it from their loot inventory, i don't know if they sell them at elacrai tho, nor if they sell it in human towns.

8 - I think Various Loots/Gold Bar and Qualis Gem has a fixed price, i might be wrong, but from what i've seen in the game, all Various loots i sold had the same price, no matter Trade skill.

9 - Castles are much more reliable in keeping lords prisoner, having them in your army will just make them flee eventually.

10 - Check this link http://pop3.wikia.com/wiki/Right_to_rule it shows all ways of getting RtR, the minimum for fouding your own kingdom is 30 (otherwise everyone is gonna declare war on you)

11 - If you mean the ''Player Character'' tab in Notes, then no, Player has no reputation or Wealth description, all lords have them tho (Except Kings i think)

Reviving this thread as a couple of users suggested a couple of polls that seemed to be good. This one is the first one of 3.9 (which makes some difference on this poll tho). I made it a bunch of hours ago, but the vote pattern is pretty clear...

This poll is pretty much done as far as it goes, with one of the many options taking half of the votes. I wasnt expecting such a resounding victory for this weakling. So little love for the Noldor lords, maybe on 3.8 the poll would come out way better for them as seems more people than expected used them as QG farms. Seems Alaric is the new QG farm on 3.9

Well, if you want to check outcome or even give it a vote (you dont even need to register), feel free. Next poll will be about the gem in rune weapons

As sadly the front wiki page (is the one that has the poll) doesnt allow comments, if you dont mind, i'll bring the discussion (if any) here

    http://pop3.wikia.com/wiki/Prophesy_of_Pendor_3_Wiki

I personally voted for the 3 Seers
People don't love or like Alaric, they just like the fact that he is so absurdly easy to defeat that its basically a Free Gem when this guy spawn, i was expecting that from miles away to be honest since well, would you rather fight a hard unique spawn and lose a lot of elites, or just spawn this drunk guy that gives you free gem, the answer is obvious.

The question was ''Which Spawn do you prefer to spawn when asking for rumors?'', its like asking ''Which spawn would you rather have spawning when you ask for Rumors'', everyone would like Alaric since he is the weakest.

Now if the question was ''Which spawn do you prefer the most in the game'', that could have different results.

If your next poll is gonna be about gems then i'm looking forward to that, i always have this feeling that i don't know what rune weapon performs better, and what could be the most efficient, just curiosity. Imo the best so far i have used is the Sapphire Glaive, go on foot and you turn into a demigod oneshotting everything that walks withing range, but its very bad in siege, sadly.

Using Morgh's Text Version, i copied the Demon Charger as a test and boosted its armor to 80. Changed the Item ID/Single/Plural to Infernal Charger. Did not mess with Meshes cause i figure thats the visuals of it or something.

It put it in Item Slot 1518 where Items_End use to be (which moved to 1519), so i clicked update on both and Save changes. Loaded game and started a new game, but in the cheat menu it only lists to 1517 and doesnt show up

Also tried a bow to make it blunt and a new food item, but nothing ever shows up in game.
I don't know how cheat menu works since i never used it, but maybe new custom items don't show up there, to test if the items you made works in the game, you set them as Merchandise with high abundance (300+), and disable any faction flags, enter the game and look for the cities shops to see if its there, or go the ''troops'' and add the new item in the ''1055.  trp_bonus_chest_3 [Valonbray]'' troop unit inventory, go into the game, new character and go to valonbay and loot the chest, if the items are there, then they are working as they should, you just configured it wrong.

So, a question for the more experienced player that has founded a kingdom once.

1 - Should i join a kingdom (And rebel later) or be independent until i create my kingdom?, if the latter, how to justify attacking a faction without losing Honor?

2 - How should i prepare for the Kingdom? should i go around building relationship with all Upstanding/Goodnatured/Martial lords of my faction, or do it with all ''Martial and above personality'' lords of all factions?

3 - What are the must have Lords and should i make them Adapt to my kingdom units (Forsake their original units for the ones of my kingdom), or have them maintain their original units? will having them have my kingdom troops decrease their effectiveness in battle or abandon their unique troops?

    1. Rebel is the best way to go as you start with all your fiefs and the one the king didn't give you(which triggers your rebellion), along with all their garrisons.

    2. Just fight lots of battles and release all the marshal/upstanding/good natured and maybe cunning lords. There is no point not ransoming the rest as you lose relations with them if you let them go.
I normally stockpile loads(1000's) of recruits before I rebel and lots of other troops which I give to my lords.
Pick a KO that dosen't require a QG and use these as your faction KO and then found KO chapters in every fief you intend to give to one of your vassals as they get them as household troops in their army. The Radiant Cross are a good choice for this as the main requirement is to own Ethos, they also do wonders for your archer line.

    3. The best lords are the ones with household troops try to get as many of the good ones of these as you can. I like to leave them with their default troops but its up to you.
I see, thx for the tips, its good the mod now have the exchange fiefs options, so its easier to plan for the new kingdom and defend it, it will probably take quite a long time until i rebel but its better be prepared than sorry.

Is it possible to add new items? Ive tried adding stuff, but it never shows up in a new game.
It is very simple to add new items using OpenBRF and morghs, but if you are having problems finding them in-game it might have something to do with the way you tried to do it, if you explain how you tried adding new items people might have a item of what your problem is and help you.
