  1. L'Aigle Development Log Thing.

Is the version on the Steam WS the most recent?
  2. B Medieval Medieval Conquests

As someone who has a fairly broad knowledge of medieval history, I always loved 1257 and I really feel like you guys have done an incredible job carrying the torch, it's a beautiful mod. Two problems I've noticed, however, one more of an annoyance and the other an historical gripe. First, I selected the aspect that allows my name to gain titles and it keeps changing my entire name to "Lord". I've gotten him to level 11 thinking it would work itself out but it persists, and as I'm playing on hardcore mode with all the difficulties cranked up to the max that's some difficult grinding. Second are the minor factions that come out of the Guelphs and Ghibellines. Their revolts are Kingdom of Italy (Guelphs) and Kingdom of Florence (Ghibellines) and I feel those should be reversed since the Guelphs actually hold Florence. Is this intentional? I'm not being facetious when I say I haven't done too much reading on Middle Ages Italy past the 11th century so perhaps I've missed something and it's correct, but at face value it doesn't look right, to me anyway.
  3. SP Musket Era GESIA Mod Pack 0.7

Okay I know this is dead and all but I've quite a problem here. Somehow the tatar raiders and looters like me now, oddly enough bandits and rebels are still enemies. Anyway, on the Black Mace questline I can't actually fight the bandits outside a town because they are my friends, my only option is to leave them alone. Is this intended? Is there a way to decrease my reputation with them? I can't attack them at all aside from jumping into a battle with someone already fighting them, but that does nothing to decrease relations.
  4. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

Are the Westerlands and Iron Islands supposed to declare war on Volantis when the qevir khalasar shows up? Seems odd, but keeps happening despite me restarting.
  5. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

Has anyone else tried to capture Renly? It's weird. I've got the quest from Stannis to execute him, and I just beat he and a couple of other lords in a naval battle yet it almost doesn't register him at all. Like, I captured Connington and another got away, but it doesn't even mention Renly being there, as in how it normally says "X managed to escape" or whatever, it's just nothing. Is this a bug?
  6. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

I'm not sure I installed the patch correctly. So far I've been greeted with a slew of bugs. I can't kill Gregor, I killed Renly but Stannis won't accept the end of my quest, and now a bunch of free cities have just declared war on the Iron Islands? Is this normal?
  7. B Dark Ages More Pictish painted bodies (Skill-bonuses now added, Save-compatible) for 2.012

These look incredible! Are they compatible with the current version?
  8. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

I still like that The Riverlands and North are one in the same, although I'd absolutely love to see Riverland units south of The Neck. The problem I used to get was that The Riverlands would lose, say, Riverrun, and then The North would come south and take it back, but it'd be a Northern territory now, so you'd have someone like Ondrew Locke sitting pretty in the ancient seat of House Tully, while Edmure sits outside with a thumb up his ass. A Frey quest though... See, that could be the split. Complete the quest, and The Riverlands pop up as a new faction while The North falls into the hands of The Boltons, both nominally under the control of The Lannisters. That sounds so confusing, I don't even know if anything I just mentioned is possible, but damn would it be cool. I've said it before but other cool quests would be 1) The Reach and The Stormlands making peace with The Westerlands and 2) The Iron Islands facing a bit of a regime change (Euron coming to town) and then declaring war on The Reach. The second could even replace Theon with one of Euron's cronies, and Ramsay (fighting for The North now) could gain a certain new army companion named Reek...

Yeah I miss the Riverlands culture and not being able to recruit Riverland troops. The North troop tree just doesn't work well for me. Hope the Riverlands come back as a unique faction at some point.

I like it all being one entity personally, however I'm with you on missing those units. Maybe the villages in the south could still spawn Riverlanders? Didn't the Riverlanders have a bunch of skirmish units like mounted crossbows and the like? My heart will always be with The North but still, those guys were fun.
  10. Viking Conquest: Reforged Edition - Open Beta (Steam) - Update Patch 22/07/15

Are there going to be different starting points for quests, or do we always start off on the Woden Ric with the whole "mother getting captured thing"? I'd like for there to be more quests, as in you select one at the start of the game.

The Night's Watch quest is my favorite. The scenes are so eerie in the build up, and my fight with The Weeper ended up with like, 6 v 6 to end it. **** was epic.

    Glad you liked it.

2.1 got a bunch of new features, but I've always enjoyed making scenes the most. Especially the north should now be more northerly. Snow, bleak fog, frozen lakes. A lot of the scenes have had their weather effects tweaked as well, which makes for a more enjoyable experience.

Perfect, deadly homes breed deadly men. The North is my favorite, especially when the Stannis theme is playing in the background while the player investigates the burned out village and the like. Assaulting King's Landing and Maidenstone was a lot of fun as well.

Anyway that altering character height, culture, and/or religion will ever be put in? Guys are always up my ass about the seven when I know the Old Gods are where it's at.

Call me sad but I'm most looking forward to the RP 'minigames'. Something seems so appealing about dragging a rake around in the mud and picking cabbages...

Me too, being a chainmail armoured plough-user looks surprisingly fun. I wonder if there'll be...harvesting season!

Harvesting season never comes, but is always just out of reach... I guess you could say, "It's almost harvesting season..."

Edit: Also, when you say new "chronicler's quests', does that mean new quests with the same level of involvement as the "main quest" finding your mother and all that jazz in the main game? I was always hoping you'd do a Macbeth style storyline where you start as a lowly scot and with the help of your vicious wife carve and connive your way to the top of the food chain.

Uh, there already is a quest to bring Dorne into the war. Also, I wouldn't bother holding up anything from the show as a suggestion for the mod. Cozur's all about the lore, and the show has been ****ting all over it.

I'm with that 100%, I always prefer the books to the show but that doesn't mean there aren't aspects of the show involved. Just look at the Lannister and Northern armor if you don't believe me. Also, what quest brings Dorne in? Is there a comprehensive quest list somewhere I can use?
  15. SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

Book spoilers ahead so don't read this if you haven't read them. Excellent suggestions on all fronts. I've said it a few times already but I'd also like to see quests that could end or start wars across Westeros, as in quests to bring Dorne and/or the Vale into the fray, quests to make peace between The Reach/The Stormlands and the Lannisters. A badass quest would be to kill, or hire someone to kill, Balon, and then Euron could sail in and take his place as head of The Iron Islands and declare war on The Reach and The Westerlands. That would be a lot of fun. Also, one more thought I was chewing on earlier. Rather than a wildling invasion, I always thought it would be cool if winter came instead. After Ep. 8 of Season 5, we got a glimpse of the horrors The Others bring with them, and it might be cool to throw that into the game. I know that since day one the rules have been no white walkers and no dragons, but hear me out. You fight the wildlings, and win, and Jon Snow says something along the lines of "The Wildlings are the least of our worries. We don't have long, ride south and garner support. Winter is coming, and if the realm doesn't send support we're all doomed." Then, instead of the wildlings taking Last Hearth, there are just four or five enormous armies full of like, 95% wights and 5% white walkers. The wights would be just like the ones fought before, but the White Walkers could only be killed with valyrian steel, which is perfect since you get Dark Sister during that quest. Ideally, they'd be the kind of army that's like, a special event army, like Ramsay is in that quest you get from Cassel. As they move south raiding villages and killing everyone in sight they just keep getting bigger and bigger. Sorry for the wall of text, but that **** would make me bust a load in my pants, seriously.

Quests to start war like the Targaryen and the Night's Watch quests are a pretty solution to make locked diplomacy dynamic enough. I'd like to see more quests to get other factions to war. Vale or the Bravos perhaps. You could trigger Bravos to be allied to Dragonstone with the Iron Bank business, but Bravos is too far from the Westerlands to make the war intense enough.

Anyway, is it true that you can only recruit special troops once? I remember hiring Rill Lancer and Wolfswood Champions and was unable to recruit them again, but it was long ago and I might just remember things wrong.

I entirely agree with you. Just as viable would be quests to create peace between, say, The Reach and The Westerlands, or The Stormlands and The Westerlands. Other good wars to start? The Iron Islands vs. The Reach and The Westerlands.

They are called quote pyramids, and much like with the Tower of Babylon, the mods have been known to punish their impudent builders for their hubris.
This might be as close as I ever get to being the lead in a Greek tragedy. Just let it happen.

Not sure if this is a bug with ACOK or it's a Native M&B issue.. Long after Lys has ceased to exist I still get notifications saying they are going to war with Tyrosh, and then making peace etc. Possibly a side effect of unlocking diplomacy in Essos, since the Stormlands have ceased to exist too but i'm getting no more notifications about them.

But diplomacy is not unlocked in 2.0 that's for 2.1 I thought.

And can anyone comment on how the Oldtown hall scene work with large numbers of npcs like in a feast? It seems rather small to me.

And does anyone understand the reasoning behind removing Oberyn's daughters? As far as I know, he's the only "king" with marriageable offspring. IMO more of the faction leaders should have children you can marry.

When you say diplomacy will be unlocked in 2.1, what do you mean?

Free Cities can now declare war and peace.

Is Westerosi diplomacy changing as well? Part of the reason I like this game so much is because if I'm fighting for The North I'm only fighting Lannisters and Ironborn, I hope that isn't changing.

You could also just try to be more tactical with your horse. As in don't ride it right into a bunch of guys with polearms. Send your infantry in against them or pin cushion them with your archers and do something better with your horse, like kill the enemy archers.

Bingo. This isn't a run of the mill "cavalry > everything else" game. Pole arms are going to trump horses, especially something like a bill hook which was designed to hook riders and pull them off their mounts. I don't know where the idea that polearms aren't effective against cavalry is coming from with this guy.
