    after taking an enemy colony (island of nova) the game is wigging out

    after the battle i leave on my way to my ship and after a few seconds of travel it tells me i have taken the colony and i disappear from the map no longer able to move anywhere or see myself.  aeric, seraphina, and rolfin in my party then tell me their observations of the land like i'm in their homeland [maybe they're the only ones in my party who haven't spoken about it yet which means it was triggered somehow, maybe the game thinks i'm in all places at once?], the game remains unpaused like i'm holding space and stutters every couple seconds, and will randomly give me notifications that enemies have amassed outside a random city.  sometimes it will tell me i have been offered a ransom by "Player" faction for myself of 11,300 denars as if i'm a captured lord in my own army

    i am a swadian vassal and the colony was vaegir who we're at war with

    i got the mod through steam workshop, warband is off steam too so should be up to date.  i have a high level char and companions, about 650 days into the game, many factions are at their last technology stage, i own 4 other colonies i made (not took)

    I noticed it around ulf's farm quest, so it started happening sometime after I was exiled from friese I figured this isn't supposed to happen since that's a lot of money for early game.  I thought maybe the game thinks I started a kingdom I just got the game through steam so it's probably the...

    I had this problem. the best I can do is link to another poster who had a similar problem and quote myself. basically I never found a solution to the main character disappearing but using the savegame editor to put my health back to 100 was a fix that could last awhile.  i think it was morgh's

    ah i had the same problems on my character.  i was playing gdwitt's submod and you weren't so i guess this is a problem common to main bw

    it's good you know when it happened.  i went for a long time before i realized i wasn't in my own party anymore so i couldn't trace it back and just went with it. i wonder if the 2 problems are linked, getting knocked out to permanent low health and being removed from the party screen -- maybe the computer thinks you're dead.
    and they must be related also because what are the chances you got the same 2 bugs i had

    unfortunately i don't have much helpful information

    the main character disappearing, i haven't fixed.  you'll notice your party skill boosts also disappeared as if you aren't a member of the party, so you don't give the bonuses like +2 engineering.  whoever is in the #1 position stays there until death, so it would be best to have a group of soldiers there who won't all be dying soon instead of a companion so that you can still talk to the companion. i had ceawlin there for a long time and could not change his gear.  i think i ended up moving him out of my party with the savegame editor so the people below him in #2 slot (my archers, since i had many and they were a permanent staple of my army) could take up the 1st slot


    for the health not regenerating, i tried all kinds of things. the submod has a horn that will heal you and i used it to boost my health to 100% in different places (battle, walking around town, in a siege) and hp would still go back down at the next loading area.

    for that problem i got my health to come back by using m&b's savegame editor again.  i uh... it's been some time what did i do... i tinkered with my main char, he's somewhere in there and i think i put his health to 100 in my last save.  that fixed it for awhile.  but sometimes when i got knocked out my health would permanently go down again and i had to use the editor again.  so doing that would keep the glitch at bay for awhile at least.  it had a greater chance of coming back if you got knocked out in battle, seemed like a random chance.  but iirc it happened fewer and fewer like a wound that was healing and it stopped eventually

    sorry for being almost completely useless at solving the problem, that's the best i could come up with at the time when i was playing

    yeah i'm playing the steam version. i finally won the invisible hands. they're invisible in your inventory too and they act as gloves

    ok hurray i got the black mace

    i tried to follow the steps on the main mb wiki but sometimes my game jumped a step so i didn't have to do one at all. i just went with it. maybe i got lucky and it didn't freeze up on any of the steps

    the last step to fight radziwill, it wasn't a choice when i spoke to him anything new in dialogue i just had to say "surrender now" like any normal lord but when i beat him it said i received the mace

    i happened to fight him on the field as the aggressor and was outnumbered 2:1 but he entrenched himself while most his force were hussars.. so they were sitting ducks for my riflemen
    i wasn't at war with poland so i had to force the fight

    regarding autocalc (when you die in battle and it calculates for you the losses and winner at the end)

    is it affected favorably if one of your surviving companions has a high tactics skill?

    makes me wonder a second question if the tactics skill and autocalc have any relationship at all

    i ask because i'm thinking of having a companion max tactics in case i die for the autocalc but i don't know if that's a good idea

    is there a way to allow battle continuation?

    i died so i lost to autocalc in the next skirmishes when i would have won because i had superior troops despite being outnumbered

    the computer is always terrible at calculating odds when you let it decide a battle even in warband.  100 elites vs. 3 farmers and i'd still have a few of my men killed and wounded

    i had no blunt weapon to use for the capture-the-spy quest to knock them unconscious so i had to use the frying pan

    also does anyone know if a pistol (dutch) or bow (0 power draw, if that matters) has a longer range when given to a companion.  i'm not sure if it's best to give my 6 str. companions a pistol or a masterwork simple bow.  i want them to kill to get exp holding ground

    if they both had the same range i'd also have to consider bow would need 2 hits to kill so they probably wouldn't get as many kills even though pistol has longer reload

    I read an explanation was that the troops that left came from the culture you're at war with.  if you hired mercenaries in the cossack region their morale will be lower if you're fighting the cossacks. 

    I don't know if that's the explanation but it's an idea. i haven't had it happen to me yet.  and i just learned there's a submod 1.85 so i started playing that.  i found out you can train your troops at the academy as much as you want and this has kind of thrown askew my plans as i can now just train everyone to 10 in medic skills and not bother having INT based characters

    how do i get a lost companion back?  is there a save editor for wfas?

    i "planned the battle" before besieging a castle and told my doctor sarabun not to fight (making it 0/1 on the counter)

    i'm not sure if that's what triggered it but that's the last i remember seeing him, he wasn't in my party after and it's been over a month and he hasn't surfaced in taverns, travelers don't know where he is

    has anyone experienced losing companions and know how to get them back? is there a save editor for this game?  i tried the one for warband and got an error

    how do i disable the ore mine?  i paid the 50k to start it up, and now every 3 days it gives me a report.  i don't want to use the mine i have enough money and it's bothersome to have to click away the report every 3 days.

    i can't find an option to close the mine or cease reporting me about it. is there a way to?

    EDIT: problem solved.  disable then enable "custom parties" in the camp menu

    i just noticed why i took that mountain screenshot was because the notice in the lower left corner said people were falling unconscious for no reason

    what causes that? once in awhile it'll say a companion or a troop just "fell unconscious"
    steep mountain climb thin air or what

    it can't be from a fall since that's the only thing where they'd get knocked out without a culprit. and even when they do fall to their death the notice says they were defeated by the last person to attack them (i've noticed this.. if i hit a guy and he walks off the wall it'll say i knocked him out)

    i haven't been declared war on since i had 1/4 - 1/3 the map. since then i only get requests for non aggression treaties.  i don't think the player can have trade agreements between the ai so i don't get those.  i don't get alliance requests either though the computer can do those (don't think you can do it through your minister either)

    im posting my weekly budget. i've put enterprises in every town. that's probably ridiculous though, i just wanted to maximize regular income i could count on instead of variable kinds like selling stuff

    i'll post late game screenshots here too

    this guy was using a pot of stew as a shield. or since it's in his right hand maybe as a weapon. i saw on the notices a bonhedyr killed my archer from far away, and those are lower tier troops (without default throwing spears?) so i wonder if he had thrown a stew at him
