    I'm trying to think of a way to execute a Multiplayer campaign in a fun way.

    With the way Battles/Party Encounters work right now in M&B, there is one way of allowing all players to enjoy it.

    If a battle starts, players will get to choose whichever side they wish and take control of a unit, or simply stay a spectator.
    It would be somewhat like Battle Time. With the exception that all players can begin a fight.
    Allowing players to command a team that isn't their own party should be optional.

    Of course, this would necessitate removing any parties on the map of less than +/-20 men, so that everybody's game isn't constantly interrupted by people starting fights with looters. To facilitate this, it would be necessary to have players start out strong enough to not need to fight/grind against minor parties. This would essentially be cutting out the early game and skipping straight to the mid-game.

    If a battle starts the rest could just continue on the campaing maps just like you do with Warband in singleplayer and the AI get's into a fight. If two people (or someone against an AI) get into battle and you walk passed the battlefield you could join in on either side or ignore it and continue to wherever you moving to.

    No if they want to be an admin they should apply for it. Just because they have a high rank in the TW would not automaticly make them good or dedicated admins.

    Thanks!. 5 ships not as much as I wanted by should do. Underground systems open then to everyone, but make all routes go trough a central hub with also is the bandit hideout. Making it a risky endevour to make the trip alone, but might be faster then waiting for a ship.

    So I decided to create a PW map. Good for me, maybe not the best mod to create your first map for though (Then again a PW map contains both battle and siege mode in one map) as the area is HUGE, but so far having fun trying different things (right now building a starter town). I was just wondering if there is a way to preview what the objects are that I can use without first having to add them for both Native and PW?

    There are 100s of props to add, but annoying to have to add them all to get the one you want (especially with trees). Any things I should be aware of when mapping or a certain way you should go about it? Things I should avoid doing?

    Also is there a limit on the amount of ships you can/should add? I am planning on making a map that focuses on traveling with ships (and a tunnel system only accessable by bandit faction or by anyone who lockpick the locks).

    Some other basic questions:

    Can you type the rotation amount? So your can easily have object aligned to the same degree?
    Can you copy/past multiply objects or even one?

    EDIT: Well now I seem to have the issue that some props suddenly are not solid anymore like stairs and you just walk trough them. I also seem to have some terain I sink into or that my character seems to be walking onto a hill or stairs yet there is nothing there. Is there any good Wiki or documentation I could read to learn about these problems?

    Making the engineer more usefull! Collection of ideas that might make being a engineer more usefull

    Extended inventory
    More room for items and the likes. This should mainly be for serfs and for Engineers. This could be based of a weight system. Could use the same interface as the carts have. accessible via the submenu.

    Craftable armour
    This must have been requested before right? Is there a reason this can not be done? I know it's not realistic to use wood and iron for cloth clothing, but would be more interesting in my opinion, but offcourse this could be implemented after more resources are implemented if at all.

    crafting workbench.
    A engineer could built all the items in the world from this workbench (using the sub-menu that is now in-game) so there would be no need to go to the items. The items itself would be put in the inventory after crafting. This means the engineer can create the items at his workplace and full up the a cart so he or a trader can go around selling them personally or deliver them as agreed  upon before the engineer started crafting or the engineer could simply fill up the factions chest with items that faction normally would no own or simply as a stock.

    Learning
    The engineer starts with a set amount of items he can craft (default things like pick axe and basic weapons armour) and need to go to the keep to study how to make the weapons and armour in the keep.

    Inventory Management (for factions)
    It would be great if the lord could set buy and sell prices for items and set a minimum and maximum (raising/lowering the prices with a x% if they are under or above this amount). This might encourage people to trade items (getting or cheaply and selling it for a higher price)

    I know some off these ideas might not work or are just to consuming like setting prices for the items. Having an inventory + having the crafter items appear in there would already be great and make it easier for the traders to get the item and see if he can manually sell it to someone else or fill up a cart with items from his keep.

    Simply being able to pick up weapons you can not use just so you can put them into a cart would already be helpfull so you can get items at a certain place and sell them somewhere else. If a faction owns the keep(s) that has crossbows they could exploit this by selling the crossbows using a cart and set price. Same for other weapons.

    Not much else for a outlaw to do these days. Most server really restrict outlaws to this as for example raiding a keep is against the rules (none the less a hell of a lot of fun to do still :razz:, but don't tell the admins). Raiding the townwatch is fun, but this get's you on there KOS list and considering a lot of servers really do not have a new life rule, this makes things a bit complicated.

    However raiding a cart now with Beta 1 can be fun or like I did last time walk into keep and walk out with a cart full of items...and there even kinda enough to open the gate for you. Shamefully karma came around the corner and some other lord tried to tax me. He told me citizens should pay taxes. I then politely told him that I am no citizens of his and moved on. He clearly disagreed with that :razz:. Anyhow getting a bit off topic here.

    I personally have not seen to much randoming. I think a lot of people cry RANDOM way to quick. People if you point your crossbow or raise you sword at a lord then get ready to die! In fact anyone raising a weapon against me will get a hammer or sword in his face unless diplomacy (AKA as being under-equipt or being outnumbered :razz:) forces me otherwise.

    "Sounds cannot be copied, resold or distributed as individual files."
    So something like this would not work with Mount and Blade as you can just see and use all files in the folders.
  9. Fixed Troop Tree Upgrades (Complete w/ Factions)

    *ok i was going to post links but i haven't been a member long enough, just do a quick serch there is a good youtube compilation of cool vid's and pic's with random information thrown in.. all in all the Winged Hussars where bad ass !*

    The game is not based of history, but based on a book (With has some fantasy element in it, but based on historical facts) as you can see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_LtNzCv83Y in that movie the Winged Hussar have wings, not sure if they always have in the books though.

    If you would complain that some spears got translated as lances I would agree but if you complain that addon is not a fantasy world...

    I can accept the missing of tournements and some other minor things. They tried to replace it with some brawling system, does not mean it is not missing. The creating of a background is something I values, true I can live without it. I did not pay that guy 15 euro's, I payed the company 15 euro's. This addon is not about marriage? Neither was Warband really, but it all part of creating your own story.

    It's not that one of these things is a big problem, but it is, for me atleast, the sum of it all that makes this game such a disapointment. It would have been good enough as an unpaid expansion, but for 15 euro's I did expected more then what we have now.

    My biggest problem simply is that there are mods out there for Warband of even orginal M&B that are way better then this. To the very least we could expect something of that quality, not worse when you pay for it. I just do not understand how TaleWorlds approved this to be sold to there consumers.

    I was expecting more of the same, but in a different setting with guns. I mean some change that I might dislike, but not this. No tournements, no character background, no upgrading (bug), no marrige, no owning your own country.

    The "it's just different" excuses works when you comparing EvE with WoW not when you comparing an expansion of something. It is not different at all. It is Warband with feature removed and changed. I mean it not extreamly bad, but a disapointment none the less. Beside the way you recruit units and the removed feature I fail to see the difference. Admittingly waiting for a proper fix to the upgrading of units before continueing with the singleplayer campaign.

    Do enjoy Multiplayer so far though.
  16. Hiring Units Hahahahaha. What Have You Done TaleWorlds?

    In Multiplayer I found that sometimes (Only noticed it once tbh) Marksman and Infantry are wrongly labeled. Meaning the Marksman has crappy guns, good melee and good armour and the Inf has good guns, crappy armour and weapons. So I guess the same bug is in Single player.

    The quality of this game is really under par! (Yes I know I only payed 15 euro's but I have seen games with better quality and QA testing then this game) The response to these problems is even worse. You would think that things like not being able to upgrade your units would be fixed within 24 hours of release. Multiplayer is fun though!

    Lets just hope some modder is gonna mod this mod. I like the gameplay with guns, changes the dynamic of the fights. You can not just rush you enemy blindly as it seems everyone has a gun. Accuracy seems somewhat to good on the guns though. 
  17. multiplayer just too epic?

    I love the multiplayer especially the captain mode. I really get loads of kill there as just a few folks actually lead there units. They just let them run around and they end up all over the place. Getting killed one by one. If you instead actually lead them. Once in a while calling them back, move to a pocket of enemies and let them charge you really get a nice kill count.

    This would also work by holding F1 and place a rally flag and get your Cav around the enemy. This is incase the player does not want to lead the cav. I believe you can also use the map (backspace) to order your units to move somewhere, but not sure.

    That is just the whole problem most people have. It is not expanding anything. With an exansion you add something new and not cut away so much from the core game mechanics. I give this game a change, but can not wait for a native+ mod that add some of the core feature to the game like having your own kingdom, marrige and the like...hell even simple things like creating your own background! I understand we follow a story right now and the focus is more on this, but I do really miss it.

    Stop whining and learn to read people, it's a PRE-PURCHASE with a *clearly* marked release date and TIME.

    There are more places to get games beside steam you know? In fact it seems you can already download the game from GamersGate and D2D.
