Yeah. I'd actually rather they didn't say anything until release than the whole "hey guys! We just finished modelling this hat! Epic, huh? Don't forget to
" that a lot of indie developers are pressured into doing
Yeah that's the point. If you act like a low budget amateur indie developer, you will stay as low budget amateur indie developer.
That does not hold true; they are not a low budget indie developer even now. If they were they wouldn't be able to employ a team of about 40 staff, without releasing anything since Warband apart from the Napoleonic War DLC and whatever money they got from the developer of With Fire and Sword (which used the M&B engine under license). Besides, trying to ape the hyperactive PR campaigns of some big developers is like copying the hairdo of a beautiful person and expecting to become beautiful; it is a misunderstanding of what makes a game successful in the first place.
They have heard the gripes about lack of updates since M&B was in beta, but they clearly aren't too worried about it and have decided to release info as they see fit. It obviously hasn't harmed them as there are lots of people clamouring for info about Bannerlord, and once they start releasing more detailed info and videos of the game, do you imagine anyone remotely interested in the game won't rush back to this forum and pore over every morsel of info, and subsequently buy the game? As soon as there is a release date announced and videos released, the news will spread pretty quickly, especially in these days of Twitter and Facebook (I think Taleworlds are on both), and the news will of course be on Youtube. An irregular and modest supply of updates in the meantime won't lose them any customers.
