  1. New commands and army deployment

i think you should be able to set a default starting position so every battle your men start int he correct position. Less time getting you r men into position, and more time countering your enemies formations.
  2. cultural recruitment

Exactly. I would spend most of my game training and farming my army against lesser enemies in bandits in the search for some experience for them, losing the odd knight to a bandit was severly painfull but part of the ejoyment. Then when you finally commit to that huge battle you've been building up to I would really appreiciate the importance of the battle losing men then, for me was a honorable and worth it, and i looked forward to building it back up again, this time perhaps having less calvary, and more archers to attempt to improve on field efficiency.

In F&S i go to one city after another, replensihing my army after each battle with the huge availability of prisioners. Only after two or 3 castles after my army had been watered down with lesser troops i would disband them all then back a bee-line for the merc camp, then simply rinse and repeat. THere just isn't enough army building in this game. The best amry in the game is just limited by your pocket, and not about the time available to train them which helps really generate a relationship with your amry, and were i find enjoyment.

Oh and btw its great to actually speak to a dev on a gaming board - this doesn't happen enough in most other compannies. though im sure my ideas will never ben used its great to think the next time you sit at your machine i may influence your next change.

I've been kicking around ideas about how to do mercs differently.  I really want to give the player plenty of ways to recruit troops, and I think the mercenary system while 'neat', is not actually good for the game experience.
    totally agree

One of the ideas I have in my head is to allow the player to hire mercenaries only when they have established land, and the mercs are hired 'as a unit'.  They end up being a completely seperate operating unit like any other lord, and take orders as lords do (but are expensive and actually do what you ask).
and follow you around like a caravan does? sound interesting. But what if they just provided you with a merc recruit that had its own upgrade tree that still need training? but obviously had higher wage costs, but offset by the fact that an unlimited number is available to buy. so if you still wanted an army of mercs its still feasable but less advantagious and expensive
  3. cultural recruitment

With the caravan "exploit" i can just take over the entire map in a couple of man hours, just refuelling at "merc stations". I just don't become attached to my men like in warband at all as they held no value. I remember producing an elite amry in warband, and was so upset when i lost a knight becuase of the work involved training him up. Now i couldn;t give two hoots they're just dispoable.
I hate the merc system, they're just too cheap - they need to 10x there cost, and for emergency situations only!
and/or i'd remove the upgrade equipment option, instead reserve that to your basic faction troops to give them a purpose.
I'd love to see a warband faction style of recruitment tree, but to include the recruit, experiecned, elite statuses too, sometimes you want cheap front line soldiers to you should be able keep them foot soliders but progress them through the rank system (elite etc)
I'd keep the city commanders for extra special order troops only (i.e scotish units only available in certain cities, german in others etc), but again make it chargable.

Just my thoughts, as im finding f&s much less involved, with no attachment to the ingame characters and armies it loses its emotional aspect.
  4. What is a good performance %?

im at 115% with battle sized to 3 (circa 300 people). On sieges i go as low as 25fps.

    i5 760 at 3.8ghz, crossfire 6870 and 8gb of ddr3.
  5. Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword features you'd like to see in Mount & Blade 2

    Not all from F&S but:

    -Breed you own horses
    -Tournaments
    -Duelling (pistol/sword)
-Custom built weapons and armour using tools and metals collected from around the map
  6. How to earn Thaler fast and easily at the begining period? I'll teach you~

If your gonna cheat by ctr-clicking, you might aswell just bring up your inventory and press ctr-X
  7. TweakMB updated with WF&S support

Oh okay, i made all the custom weapons buyable. But not appeared it. Perhaps im not waiting long enough.

Are the old weapons in the item_kinds file, im struggle to figure out if they've changed the names of the old ones, or added extra. Really want my warband weapons back
  8. TweakMB updated with WF&S support

will i need to create a new game or can i continue from a save? thanks,.

I've been playing M&B since 2008 and just recently found out about it. Wish I would have known about it "back in the day".

    ditto
  10. TweakMB updated with WF&S support

Will this allow me to make the weapons from warband available in WF&S?

Also, to make make an item (for instance the double barrel guns) available from the merchants do i click the "merchant" toggle?

So is it useful to have you traininer skill up?

I disagree. I think seeing as the most advanced units can be bought ouright, training you men like in warband is not required and therefore the trainer perk is redundant.
  12. how to make two countries war with each other?

Just whittle them down. Attack, escape, build army up quickly from merc camps and attack again. Eventually you'l get them.

Alternatively turn the difficulty down. 100 man easy take 300 on the esiest difficulty levels.
  13. ATI graphical glitches - AGAIN!!!

Happens to me once every 2-3 hrs of play (crossfire 6870). Its not too much to just save, exit to menu and just reload.
  14. With Fire & Sword: Questions and Answers

Q: Why would anyone recruit the lesser units from the commanders now everything is available and all as cheap as chips. No troop uprade paths exist, making the training attribute pretty pointless beyond "vetranising" IMO?
  15. How Do You Get Renown??

It really is easy. Just encircle and take them with the pistol, alway move at right-angles to them and zig zag towards them. try to get them to seperate a little and when you see one reload just attack with sword. You can also make musketman engage in CQB by knocking them with your horse, that way they chase you with there melee weapon making them easy prey, assuming their melee weapon isn't a pike.
  16. Strategy

30% pikeman (scottish pikeman my fav)
50% musketman (lifeguards are my fav)
20% cavalry (swedish rieters my fav)

Line of musketmen. Forward 10 space i have my pikeman set to "stand apart" which let the rifleman more chance to shoot between them.
the cavalry off to one side and when the enemy clashes with my pikeman i send in the cav forward and behind to encircle them. standard strategy game tactics.

game over. actually 50% of the enemy force is dead before they even engaged me. Only hicup i ever get is if the enemy force is primarily mounted archers.
  17. How Do You Get Renown??

Fighting battles is the easiest way. The worse the battle advantage the more renown you will receive. So seek out the nobles with the big armies and beat them with a smaller army. or take on large hords of bandits solo.

    Danish?You mean Dutch?

Because if there is a Danish version, I want to know where you get it.

    sorry i mean dutch
  19. Did Mount&Blade: With Fire & Sword Meet Your Expectations?

to me its an alternative to warband. Why they couldn't take all the "bits" that worked great with warband then add the F&S bits. The way it is now is just either/or. Which is a shame, and im quickly losing interest.

missus was away for 3 days and apart from 4 hrs on the first night i've not been on it at all, which is a bad sign.
