  1. Suggestion to improve Combat: Momentum, Friction, and Attractor-Stickiness

It really gets me when I'm full speed on an armored horse charging at a single Aserai peasant unit in cloth robes with nothing but a small spear, and while they are moving their feet manage to get in front of my horse and make an attack, which does almost no damage, but stops my horse directly in it's tracks and forces it to rear up. What an immersion breaker. All laws of physics completely ignored. All momentum vanishes.

I would like it to take more to stop a horse dead in it's tracks. A successful hit on charging horse should not completely interrupt it's movement.Cavalry charges need more impact. Also it would be nice to tell my cavalry to equip their lances and couch them.
  2. Hideouts are fine!

You always take your companions, no matter where they are in your list, and a portion of the troops in descending order. So I keep my Khans Guard at the top so they always get pulled in, and hit F4 when entering to toggle Fire at will. Steppe bandit hideouts are a cakewalk.
  3. Bug that gets you huge amounts of charm.

You can get charm from playing any of the board games.
    Thanks.

You can also get Charm from releasing nobles after battles, but that gets tedious.
  4. I dont know how, but this guy plays Singleplayer

It's likely published in China through some third-party company that may have had an earlier release
Or just didn't give a heck and released it a little early.
  5. My head-canon is that Rhodoks are Battanians

If I have to explain my point in that message then it is not worth it.
And another thing, Rhodoks shares a border with only two, swadia and sarranid.
Spain too, France (very similar to swadia) and the emirate of Cordoba.
Whatever dude, believe what you want.
  6. My head-canon is that Rhodoks are Battanians

Yes but location is key here. Vaegir and nords do not share a border with the sarranids, and the faction of the southwest mediterranean mountainous terrain yes, they are neighbors ...
And Sturgia doesn't share a border with Aserai, what's your point?

And a correction, the Empire factions border 5 except the Southern Empire, which borders 4, and non Empire borders 4.
  7. My head-canon is that Rhodoks are Battanians

Yeah but, another detail in favor of Spain: they have a border with the Arabs.
It may be relevant to note that every Empire faction shares a border with 4 other factions, and every non empire faction shares a border with 3 other factions. I feel like this similarity is purely for balance.
  8. My head-canon is that Rhodoks are Battanians

I see Vlandia as being the Kingdom of the Franks, which at the Treaty of Verdun, split into three different sections, which would then go on to form The Kingdom of France (West Frankia) and The Holy Roman Empire and Northern Kingdom of Italy (Middle Frankia, East Frankia) The same way The Vlandians grew and then split into Swadians (France) and Rhodoks (HRE + Italy). The Battanians are more influenced on Welsh, Pict, and Anglo-Saxon Celts. Although I do see a bit of Ostrogoth and Visigoth inspiration in their late troop tree. The Holy Roman empire and Italian states were more known to use crossbows and pikes.
  9. So how do aim the height of a catapult's shot?

As this good man have said. The indicator looks like this:

On Trebuchet is located on the left the arm, red zone with black belt on it. You can lower this belt or get it higher. Using keys W&S. Same goes for mangonel (0:42).

WOW, did you really just link a video of yours where you use the word "retarded" in the title? Get the **** out of here dude
  10. Those of you who DON'T want marriage... Why?

Explain one thing to me. What happens if the emperor’s daughter, because of which there is a civil war, dies without heirs? This will mark the end for the faction, what supports it? Or 10 crutches are already ready for this case?
Well usually, there were distant relatives that could claim the throne, but sometimes civil war between lords broke out. So... almost like having 3 separate Empire factions because two of them don't acknowledge the last Emperors daughter as successor, I suppose.
  11. Petition to move BETA related threads to BETA section. Delete/merge alike threads.

The front page is getting cluttered with similar questions that can easily be Googled, and many beta related issues. This is a petition for mods to take action to clear up redundant clutter.
  12. Improve the optimization

Do you think they aren't trying? I mean the game is IN DEVELOPMENT. I'm sure they're aware. Anyway, this thread belongs in the BETA section.
  13. Requesting a change and/or explanation of the archery/arrow drop mechanics, especially 1st vrs 3rd person

My guess is it might be intentional as 3rd person is considered "easy-mode", and it helps out those who are less skilled. You might see a 1st person only option in MP matchmaking in the future for those more worried about competition.
  14. Coronavirus will make it profitable launch or disaster?

Don't be ridiculous. They'd have teased it eight years ago!
Boy, do I have NEWS FOR YOU!!

MERS was a similar Coronvirus strain epidemic that happened in... *drumroll* 2012!!!
  15. Units you would love to see added to the troop trees?

I don't know if the troop trees will stay as they are but I for one would love to see a Sturgian Merc unit for the Empire. Something akin to the Varangian Guard.

"As in all the realms of Calradia, regional variation throughout the empire will be shown largely through minor factions. Imperial border areas tend to be rougher and more chaotic than the heartland, and in the game are represented by frontiersmen. Though fiercely loyal to the empire, they adopt many of the ways of the warrior-tribes they face, from weaponry to a preference for blood feud over courts of law. The Watchers, in the northern hill country, represent the Akritai, the famous Byzantine borderers of Anatolia. In the south and east, colonies of fugitives and free-spirited wanderers have learned to live and ride like the steppe peoples they fight, forming the Eleftheroi. These are based on the Cossacks -- Third Rome rather than Second, admittedly but probably not much different than those who guarded the Byzantines' Black Sea frontiers. And of course we have a faction based on the Varangians, the fearsome Nord guardsmen of the Emperor, who in the tumult after Arenicos' death have formed a mercenary outfit. "

You will, as mercenaries, but not part of any factions troop tree. They're a part of a minor faction.
  16. Have they changed "end game" lord management from Warband?

Hopefully they came up with a system that doesn't involve repetitively giving out huge bribes while hosting feasts to grind the same greeting of lords/ questioning who should receive the fief....That crap got redundant quickly.

    89d25bb6f9d51736777c82a7305edc88.png

And they did. This is a screencap of a Gamescom video from 2019, right after the Khuzaits won a siege. This person ended up spending 300 influence to vote for the person who was already going to win the vote. Can't wait to get in game and actually play instead of being stuck watching unexperienced media and content creators butcher their gameplay.
  17. If new cultures were added into Bannerlord, what would you want their strengths/weaknesses to be?

Bannerlord takes places in year 10XX. I forget the exact date but it's in just after the 1st Millenium. One assumes that date was chosen to coicncide with the Julian/Gregorian calendars. Otherwise it may as well be year 0, or year 2500. Warband war Set in year 1257, and as as I can tell, that more or less matches up with the tech of Warband (as compared to irl). In any case, Bannelord takes place 200 years before Warband, as confirmed by the devs. So 1000AD/BCE is an appropriate baseline.
Right, I get that is Calradian time, I mean politically and culturally in Europe, Bannerlord and Warband match up with these times based off history. If you look at this thing called The HISTOMAP you can see that in 1050AD the Kingdom of the Franks (Vlandia) had already split up to form the kingdoms that would become France and Normandy (Swadia) and The Holy Roman Empire (Rhodoks). But really take any culture from Europe circa 400AD to 1300AD and throw it into a hat, pull one out, and it fits into the games lore. The tech didn't change very much for some 1200 years or more.
  18. If new cultures were added into Bannerlord, what would you want their strengths/weaknesses to be?

Clearly you haven't studied India mate. Besides if Bannerlord is set in the historical timeline 1000 ad- 1100 ad then the Aztecs are 300 ish years down the line, so definitely Mayan is possible but not the Aztecs. But then again its a game and we shouldn't get too worked up about it.

I think Bannerlord is more of a 500-750AD rough time period with Warband being a 1100-1300 time period.
  19. Question about Sturgia

I'd say a Slavic/ Ostrogoth influence from the period of around 500-650 AD. Later on is when Denmark and Norway started to gain power and you saw more of their presence.
