It is unfortunate we'll never get a chance to have a full Aus server.  I don't know why there are so few of us playing...it's such an awesome game.
The population may pick up a bit, but I doubt it'll make much of a difference.

It isn't too bad playing on US and EU servers.  Don't bother trying to go melee though, that's practically unplayable.
Shooting is all right once you work out how to compensate for the lag.  Still...it's not as much fun when your ping is in the 300 range.

I just have to say that the new lighting and weather in multiplayer is awesome!

To all those having a problem replacing the firing sound, I have found how to get it working!

While it appears that fl_pistol.WAV is the only sound file for guns, there are actually 5 more that need to be replaced to get it to work.

So, if you want to change the firing sound, replace these files:
fl_pistol.WAV
poroh_babah1.ogg
poroh_babah2.ogg
poroh_babah3.ogg
poroh_babah4.ogg
poroh_babah5.ogg

I replaced them all with a musket sound from a Napoleon Total War mod, and it now sounds very awesome!

How high do you have to aim in first person mode?  Is there still a problem?

If you want mindless fun, I do all right with 300 ping by just swinging a 2hander around like a madman.

It worked that one time, so I exited to come and post here, now when I go to launch it again it gives me the same error.

I'll just have to keep fiddling around till I find the problem.

Edit:  Ok, solved the problem!  Turning on 'load textures on demand' seemed to do the trick!

Yay, I managed to get it working with 1.134 in Steam too!  Just reverted some of the settings in my rgl_config.txt to their defaults and it works fine.

It works with Steam?
I've installed it, but I get an error saying it can't create new shaders because there's not enough video memory that comes up (after the loading screen).

Same!   I downloaded it but didn't realise till after that it wouldn't work at all with 1.134, and I have Steam!
Ahh well.  It seems like such an amazing mod in a seriously overlooked context.  Keep up the good work guys!

Nice trailer!  Gives newcomers a good idea of the basic setting of the game.

There are still a lot of people that play online!  I'd suggest playing on the USGK siege server or 22nd siege server, though you should play the tutorial first and maybe some single player custom battles just to get the basics down.  Doesn't really matter whether you start singleplayer or mp first, though you will get more practise in singleplayer.

Good job, mate!  I bought the game myself about a week ago now and have been loving it since!
It's got a steep learning curve, so don't get too down if you're not getting any kills online for a bit. ;P
