    The Dark Elves are for all intents of purposes exactly the same as High Elves; the schism is political/religious in nature rather than a racial conflict á la Orcs/Dwarves. It is civil war.

    Though Dark Elves are usually portrayed as black-haired as opposed to the blonde High Elves because evilness is the leading case of black hair. If theycould grow facial hair I'm sure they'd have goatees, too.
    I kind of went in expecting drows. Time to read up some on them, just saw some fanart where they basically looked like drows.

    It's the one about becoming a merchant.
    Right thank you, never had to raise reputation to buy something before IIRC so assumed that one was some mod specific feature, caravan running or whatever.

    Historical accuracy is pretty irrelevant here, Winged Hussars are supposed to have wings in FaS. If they don't something is wrong.

    As much wrong as I find in having to make a statement like that I agree. Looking forward to mods combining the mercenary system from FaS with the recruitment from WB, on top of having kingdom management etc.
    And a 17th century Europe mod would be doable as well, Europe 1200 is here, why not Europe 1600. Using FaS models for at least three nations are already made. Not to mention generic armor textures etc.

    Doesn't excuse the shoddy game, but hey, I've paid for it and at least there's something pretty ****ing awesome to look forward to. If not Europe 1600 I'm sure some modder will come up with something.

    Then you've gotten lucky, or have been careful with your orders. I'd bet decent sums of money that the functionality of these orders hasn't changed from Warband to WFaS, so you'd see the same patterns in each.
    I've had lines not line up perfectly but never in my life have I seen a column in WB. Nor did I see one in M&B. Something has changed, definitely getting more cases of **** not lining up properly in FaS.

    You could always just put a dress on your male character, as well as having female clothes you will grow boobs.

    After talking to the French fella he offered me some storyline bull with the Russians, but I'm intending on playing as a Swede. Is there even a Swedish storyline and how would I go about getting him to offer me that?
    There is no Swedish storyline, only Polish, Cossack, Moscovy
    That's unbelievably disappointing, oh well.

    EDIT - scratch that. TweakMB overwrites the mission_templates file completely when enabling Battle Continuation. Won't work. kefka has mentioned he'll be looking to extend TweakMB to WFaS, however, so in time it will come.
    Yeah, that's what I figured. It was hard enough to use the battle continuation with most WB mods (until compatibility was implemented for the individual mod).
    Just wait and see I guess. Weird how the edit mode trick doesn't work though, pah.

    It provides an amount of XP to all of your troops (that are of a lower level than you or your companion with the skill) at the end of the day, helping them level up. It stacks across your companions in party. How useful this is in WFaS seems unclear, given the fact that not all troops seem to level, but it is key in Warband.
    I know what the skill does in Warband, but a skill that gives experience to your troops seems relatively useless if your troops don't gain anything when they get experience. It's not worth it for copmanions and PC either.

    Depends on how much you can spend. Ranged weapon upgrades are always better; armour is a bit trickier, the best armour will make them a lot more survivable, but the lower armour (and increments thereof) really won't make that much difference, at least in my experience.
    Fair enough, I was just about to get them the breatplate but I'll just skip it in favor of muskets then. Thanks.

    Which upgrade is better for marksmen? Armor or weapons? I'm not sure how much armor does or doesn't do in this game, same for weapons.
  18. Whats new in Fire and Sword versus Warband?

    Industries (silk etc.) in towns was one that stood out to me. Arenas are gone as well, but that's to be expected. Sure there's more, or stuff that simply changed but haven't played a whole lot yet.

    Only ever play siege. Found it far better than Warband myself; better maps; muskets change the whole ranged game and the inclusion of grenades requires some tactical rethinks when it comes to capturing flags or holding rooms.
    Would be fine and dandy if it didn't boil down to five cavalry running around trying to pick musketeers off, while the rest spam bullets. The Warband AI frankly has more co ordination when you leave them at "charge", at least they stick together somewhat.

    I'll have to research some private servers once the game gets more popular. As much as I want to like it I just don't at the moment, possible that a good community on good servers can change that (for MP at least).

    I agree with this topic though,Thumbs up for the creators!
    If that was the case Warband would still have the old couched lances and multiplayer would be even more unbalanced, instead people said what they didn't like and the game improved.

    Pretty cool how that works, isn't it?
