I've just got this beautiful game and it just doesn't work. I havw tried verifying files, deleting language folders, downloading additional needed software, but nothing works. Help me, please! I can't even send a crash report!
Despite what the minimum Req says on Steam I think your system is too underpowered for this game. I have no idea why they say Windows 7 is good for the game when I can assure you it won't be and your cpu and gpu could really use an upgrade. Also I had enormous difficulty with this game when I first got it because it does not like an HDD! It really purrs with an SSD. Sorry.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Video Review by IGN

It's a pretty fair review all considered. They could have been more damning really when you think about it. For instance they could have pointed out that the developers are no longer "gifted amateurs" and really should have been expected to produce a more advanced game given their experience and years of development.

The games combat is fun once you've grinded through looter parties to get to a point where it might mean something to be a lord and command a respectable force. But there isn't much meat there outside of the combat.

Modding could save this, of course, and in a year or two people might say "what a brilliant game" and I suspect what happened to Warband will be the case here: Mods will make the reputation of the game. However a word of caution here: without a bonafide troop editor like Morgh's a lot is going to be asked of modders to rescue this and it will be more time consuming without that editor! *hint, hint

Can my PC play the game?

I read the minimum requirements forplaying the game:

    My PC has these :
    • W7 Ultimate 64 bit
    • Intel Core2 Quad Q8200 2.33 Ghz
    • 8 GB RAM
    • Nvidia G Force GTX 660 2GB
Can my PC run the game?
No. You need a new system. You will not enjoy the game on those settings. It will look real bad and lag even worse. That 660 card came out in 2012 and that Cpu is about that old. You will need a multicore cpu pushing well above 3 Ghz, a 1060 or better for Gpu and, cannot stress this enough, an SSD drive.

Computer specs to run the game

Op if you live in the US see if you live near a Microcenter store. They'll let you pick out all the parts for your pc on your budget and then they'll have a tech assemble it for you and if you're really nice they might even let you watch them do it so you can see how it's done. They even sell their own prebuilts which is basically like having your buddy build you one.

Female troops and same Same-sex marriage

It's a fantasy game, set in a world that never existed. It is not Europe. It's not even accurate in it's present state to Medieval Europe. Of course the developers can and should add in gay love and women in combat and why the hell not? Who cares what women actually did in European history in the middle ages? This isn't Europe and it isn't your middle ages. The game is pretty bland as it is anyway. Some lgbtq spice and gals that can kick your ass would probably liven things up.

[POLL] When did you last play Bannerlord?

I only re-installed it recently to test a new pc out on it as it gave my old rig fits. Thankfully the new one chews through bannerlord like it's pudding.

SP MP Musket Era Sword & Musket [Napoleonic Wars - Bannerlord Mod Project]

That's a modern day Life Guards uniform.

Yep. The white trousers came in the 1820's. Grey trousers with a red stripe were worn by officers and ranks in the Napoleonic conflicts. The tunic is off too. First an officer circa 1815.

Trousers were worn over the boot too.

no female commanders or add female commanders as an optional.

It's threads like this that make me want to mod in a whole fuggin' regiment of non-binary and lady warriors led by Ru Paul in explosively pink armor.

[Suggestion] Bannerlord: Netflix TV Show Adaptation

Episode 1: Guy gets dumped into Calradia with the slowest horse ever seen, a rusty sword, and the gear of an unwashed peasant.

Get's jumped by a party of 15 bandits before he ever makes it to his first city.

    They drink from his skull.

    End credits.

    Stadia

Bears watching.  I have a pretty good isp provider that doesn't cap and offers some pretty decent bandwith so I am confident streaming fluidly would not be an issue for me as it would be for some and therein is the trick: It will largely depend on ISP I think although Google seem pretty confident they can get this to everyone. Remains to be seen.

I've seen some concern over what this does to modding and I confess it doesn't look like this will be friendly to modders. But there are or will be tradeoffs. Modders will hate it but those that can run it and don't have the finances to drop a grand + on a decent gaming rig will probably welcome this plus the ability to game on the go is going to probably push this along.

Some form of streaming is in the future of gaming, I think, whether we like it or not. I strongly suspect the next version of consoles (PS5) will have a streaming component to them.

I completely agree, my comment was more related to them attending Gamescon again if they don't have a release date.

If there are going to be kids in this game does this mean we can have some BioWare/CDPR style romances and sexy times?

Two things that seem rather pointless to me:

    1) Complaining about the lack of a release date. If there were no other games you could go off and play this might make a ton of sense but there are a ton of amazing games out there right now.

    2) Complaining about the people doing the complaining. You're not getting paid by TaleWorlds to defend their honor or integrity. You, like the complainers, are not a developer and could be just as wrong as they are about why this is taking so long or not taking so long. Also don't you have the capacity to move past things you find disagreeable and if you don't then maybe it says more about you than the poster you disagree with?

Sounds like **** tbh. Slitherine games just feel like massive rip-offs to me, owing to the generally atrocious UI and controls, barely passable graphics for 2000s strategy games, unreasonable price tags, bad and repetitive music, game mechanics which were outdated before I got internet at home and don't improve with any of their newer games either, and a general lack of effort.

Also they've been milking the Close Combat franchise like crazy. Need to get every single drop of milk out of that bad boy! What's that, you'd like us to update the graphics (like the CC games did before we took it over)? Nah, just buy these "NEW" Close Combat games which are LITERALLY. THE. SAME. ****. GAMES. as the old ones, but three times as expensive and released ten years later! For ****'S SAKE!

More like ****herine, am I right?

I don't think they're aiming at a crowd that go in for hq graphics. I don't think all of their titles are quality either. That said they tend to aim their stuff at people who want a quality challenge from their AI and, from my experience, their best titles are far superior to the AI in the AAA releases like the Total War Series and harder to boot. I think the Pike and Shot release was one of their best releases and was well reviewed by most sites. But yeah it is not flashy. They also did not release a ton of DLC for it so I don't know really know what you are on about there. The graphics were actually ok too probably because the game was published by Slitherine only and not developed by them (Byzantine Games).

Now I've never played Close Combat as, frankly, the Second World War is about as interesting as two snails racing, to me, these days so I can't speak to that. Pike and Shot was a quality title regardless of what you think of the publisher, Joe.

I also suggest Crusader Kings 2 however it has some RPG elements in that you can mold your character somewhat through your actions and there is more of a "family life" in addition to governin' and fightin'.

    Witcher netflix series

The author has supposedly told the NetFlix people that he was very vague about the skin color of a lot of the characters. It didn't really matter enough to him.

But we're going to have this brew-haha anyway I guess. I can't wait for the absurd "history" arguments to be made on behalf of a book series that has hobbits, elves, and a mutant fighting griffins and vampires etc.

    Early Access Confirmed

It will not be free. Nothing is free. Ever.

I don't mind paying $40 for this game in EA and allowing TaleWorlds access to crash reports and bug reports. I did this with Divinity Original Sin and I think it was a helpful process for them (Larian). Not all EA is bad as long as there is a method for the developer to access the files of players so they can see what is working and what is not and if you don't want to give TW that permission than you should be barred from the EA. And at the end of the EA the price should rise at full release.

    That's fair and proper.
