  1. Invasion army on a ship?

Just as a side note, I realized that you don't need to move all your troops to the Transport Ships, just the attacking ones. If you leave all your Tier1-3 troops that you will use for garrison inside the main ship docked in the Town, they can be recovered and trasferred into the garrison after you capture it.
  2. Force enemy faction to agree peace

When I send a messenger with high persuasion (not sure if they need to be of noble birth as well - e.g. Matheld), they usually ask for money in return.

Is that not the case? How much persuasion has your messenger?

    Cheers.
  3. New Kingdom

I managed to go from mercenary/bandit hunter to King directly quite easily by disguising an occupation army as fishermen:

  4. Invasion army on a ship?

    Hello,

Just as an update that it worked like a charm:

    1. I have built well my finances through Enterprises and Land Ownership.

    2. Purchased a ship and docked it on the port of Sargoth (siege = ladders), filling it with 2,500 troops recruited from everywhere.

    3. When the right time has come (Nords just declared war on Vaegirs), I have purchased 5 other ships and docked them at the coast (not the port) of Sargoth.

    4. Started transferring troops from Sargoth to these 5 other ships until the one docked on Sargoth had no troops left.

    5. Stormed the town with elite troops and, after conquering it, quickly tramsferred all the troops from the 5 ships into it.

I ended up with a town containing a garrison of 2,500 troops in less than a day

NOTE: The reason I choose to dock 5 ships instead of 1 is that, even when properly guarded, something bad might happen to the ships when on the coast and not a port (the mod doesn't explain, just mentions that you had a "bad feeling" about the ship and it just vanishes with all your troops from it). Hence, it's best to split your troops in 5 (or any other number that makes sense), dock them right outside the town to not lose sight of them and quickly attack it. If you end up losing 1 ship (didn't happen with me fortunately), it's only 1/5 of your troops.

For roleplaying, I imagined my troops disguised as fishermen.
  5. Invasion army on a ship?

Hello, Have you ever tried to invade a kingdom (e.g. Nords) by placing a really big army inside a ship (assuming you have the money to build and maintain it), docked on a coast, and then attacking a town or castle to start your own Kingdom and then quickly transferring all the troops into it in...
  6. With Fire & Sword: Questions and Answers

Another question: Math for chances of enemy lords prisoners escaping.

Since we cannot build a Prisoner Tower in With Fire and Sword, how does the math work?

I have tried using TweakMB to see the values but they seem to load Warband-only ones for this subject.
    Thanks.
  7. Can't hire Commander + Giving fiefs

Armory is the key. Double check that you really have it.

I was able to appoint all the "specialized" commanders, but the option for the "original" one was unavailable until I had the Armory built.
  8. With Fire & Sword: Questions and Answers

    Hello,

Do you know how the math works for the garrisons auto-recruitment?

More specifically, when the commanders will start and when they will stop filling them with troops.

I'm wondering if we have a total cap (e.g. total amount of troops in a town/castle/fortress) or specific caps (e.g. total amount of troops recruited from each specific commander).

    Thanks.
  9. Is with Fire And Sword worth buying?

People are saying that napoleonic wars is dead and viking conquest is good, but what about Fire and Sword?

For me it works all right and is worth playing. It's different from Warband: It lacks some features e.g. Arena/Tournments, while have some new ones as well, especially related to money through the gain of interest on deposits. Still on the subject, the trading system, while a little less dynamic, is quite decent too.

Although it lacks some mods as stated above, for me the only modification that seems a must is Battle Continuation (since you are knocked out a lot by firearms in 1 hit even with a good equipment), which is already achievable through TweakMB.

You cannot create your own Kingdom with lords/vassals without following one of the main storyline quests (which the wiki claims to be buggy), but you can still create your own "commoners revolution" without Lords, which is something that I'm trying to achieve in my current game.
  10. Warband v1.172 and Floris v2.55 Compatiblity

Hello, It has been a long time since I don't play Mount & Blade Warband, and I would like to start it right away with Floris Expanded since it seems to add a lot of decent features to the game. However, there seems to be a Thread on Reddit...
  11. Prison Towers Missing?

Hello, Is it my impression or we can't build Prison Towers (which reduces the chance of the Lords escaping from 30% to 5%) in With Fire & Sword? I see a number of options and improvements when talking to the Mayor, but Prison Tower is not among them and I see no option to Manage the...
  12. My Experiences On How To Handle Vassals (Updated)

Final update with my final experiences. It's a little time consuming but very rewarding the strategies that I've described on my original post because everyone likes me and I don't need feasts for that.

This is a ScreenShot from my last game:

I hadn't thrown any feasts at all. Over time, I was able to move all the upstanding/goodnatured lords to castles using the Exchange Fiefs. But the initial strategy of giving Castles to Martial and the villages owned by castles to Goodnatured/Upstanding - all with Exchange Fiefs and without hurting the relation with other lords but boosting it - worked like a charm
  13. Keep being given conflicting issue on eliminating factions

Yeah, so I'm an idiot. Apparently the Khanate took one Vaegir castle(I think, it seemed too far north to be naturally theirs). The white and light purple looked the same from high up looking at the map. After that was gone they were eliminated.

I have seen King Halaus hanging out by himself since the Swadian rebellion ended successfully. He's just kind of there. Does it really matter if I recapture him?

If the faction is "Commoners", I don't think it matters.
  14. Keep being given conflicting issue on eliminating factions

    sphanlon 说:
So you won't get the defeated faction popup until every lord has changed factions? What about if you're trying to be king of the whole empire? They have to go away eventually. It would never end if it they just kept switching to other factions.

If you want to be King of the whole Empire, in the end they will either join you or go into exile.

The most important is that eventually the faction will be declared as defeated.

About the 1-Lord party, it seems a good idea for you to chase him as he will be fast. But the rest (lords with armies, caravans, etc.) your lords can take care of. Even the 1-Lord party your lords will also take care eventually.

At least as version 1.153, never a faction with no land and at war with me survived more than 2 game weeks.
  15. Conquering Rhodoks

Just to point out, on my last game I've used a curious strategy that could be used on other factions as well:

When new enemies have arrived, they all go to one of the sides of the wall, let's say the left one.

Your troops will push and the right side will be free.

If there is a ladder on the right side which the "new enemies" use to climb up to the walls but there's more wall behind it, you may try to run past this ladder before the first enemy finish to climb and try to protect yourself inside a tower or somewhere else on the town/castle with a bunch of arrows shooting them on the ladders or the sharpies on the ground.

Until they begin taking heavy casualties, they will not chase you. They will hold their formation on the walls.
  16. What are the funniest/best moments in the game that you have experienced?

When laying siege at Jameyyed Castle, I've got past the enemy lines to shoot them from the inside "sniper style".

When they've lost enough man to begin breaking formation and chasing me, I've lured them away to divide and conquer just like in field battles.

Climbed everything as fast as I could, and they weren't able to chase me:

My troops were able to get inside quicker and easier due to lower resistance on the entrance

  18. Mount & Blade: Warband Video! Bandits, Battles and More!

Mountain Bandits? I don't know, they can throw stuff really hard...

Best is to become... GOD OF THE ARENA!!!

And then use the money you win on melee fights and tournaments to hire your first mercenary cavalry, send them to kick some *** and use the money from the loot to upgrade your gear.
  19. Mount & Blade: Warband Video! Bandits, Battles and More!

If you were a God of The Arena, you would have faced the Sarranids alone and won.
  20. I have met my clone

Inner self or not, in the face of this terror, there's only thing you can do:

Change your equipment before the battle, then change back during the battle using the baggage and literally play with yourself
