  1. The old familiar problem with "super units"

I agree with this, heavily armoured, high HP ranged cavalry have it all, they're even good for sieges.
Infantry have no ranged attacks and marksmen have poor accuracy, especially against moving targets... the price and support cost of cavalry is supposed to offset it, but it's still far too low considering how good they are really.

The only real way to fix this is to increase their "head count" so cavalry = 2 men whereas infantry and marksmen = 1 man. You would reach your unit max quicker with cavalry.
  2. Improving Relations with Ladies

Thanks for the reply, I know both of those and the results... but what does increasing relations with them actually do?
Is there any benefit to it?
  3. What exactly qualifies as "a mission"

Essentially, any game event in which you can lose HP.. this probably includes wandering around friendly towns (you can lose hp and pass out from falling off walls). with 10 points you'll gain back half the HP you lost after a "mission", very good if you get knocked out early on in the first wave of a battle, you'll have half HP for the next wave.
  4. Improving Relations with Ladies

Is there any reason to do this? So far all i manage to do is damage my relations with certain lords....
  5. Missing Lord

Errr... ok.. he just reappeared, inviting me to join his army... I guess he was using up some of his annual leave?

    Ctrl+t?

Can a Lord really be imprisoned for 70 game days without escaping or being purchased?
  6. Missing Lord

I've started along the Muscovite Quest line, I'm up to the point where I need to speak with Warlord Yuri Buynosov-Rostovsky but no one knows where he is and the last known position was in his city 70 game days ago.... I've searched high and low for him, checking each enemy lord and city's...
  7. Initial Bugs after update

Hi All, I encountered some unusual bugs after updating, no info was displaying during battles (exp, skill, damage etc) and my keybinding were a mess, some overlapped even though they were bound to different keys. You'll need to verify the game cache (Steam) as there was a file that didn't...
  8. Where can I (my char) practise fighting?

There isn't a training place in this game and bar fights aren't very good as you get given a basic sword and pistol.
You'd be better off hunting small groups of bandits and looters.
  9. Melee Infantry and AI Tactics

The major issue with national troops is the lack of decent shield infantry, you'll have the highest turnover of these so being able to replace them easily is important.

You can replace the European Mercs with a mixture of Scottish Swordsmen and German Pikemen, Swordsmen in general are better than the Euro Mercs as they have good reach and no close range issues but are inferior vs cavalry, the pikemen are the opposite, so they balance each other out.
If you can find decent national troops with heavy armour and shields, let me know!
**EDIT** Reiters (of all nationallities), Hussars, Armoured Cossacks and Noble Guards are all good as well, although I use them only in sieges (they are mounted in open field combat making them unsuitable).

As a side note, using the tactics above I managed to defeat 900-ish of 1134 with 119 men (9 heroes + myself) A little over half of mine were wounded/dead by the time they gave up.
  10. Melee Infantry and AI Tactics

For those that prefer Melee infantry, here are the tactics I use: 50% Polish Infantry (sword/shield) / Muscovite Infantry (mace/shield) 50% European Infantry (Halberd) I created a custom group for the shield users and a custom group for the halberdiers so that they can be moved independent of...
  11. My old character to become King???

    nox 说:
    That is a good one.

So you declare fealty to ... yourself and become your own faction.

Pardon me if I misread but did he only appear after you reimported?

I don't recall seeing it in any other of my saves, I'm going to do some in depth investigation after work to see what triggered it... perhaps it's always been like this but I never though to check... He doesn't always appear on the unit roster of the city, only when he is in the Lord's Room, when he doesn't he can be found around the city map, either by the portcullis or the mayor.

    I'll keep you all posted.

Hmmm.. I think it might be heavily bugged.. the guards in my Lord Room are asking me to surrender or die
    EPIC!!!
But shouldnt player faction be red just like rebel? And how do you get playerfaction anyways

To get it started, you need to be unassociated with all nations.. so no rapport with any of them... then attack a caravan or partrol that belongs to same nation as a city you want to conquer... once you've defeated the enemy you'll be at war.. sort of (you're not a nation so you can't have war declared on you), you should now be able to besiege a city/fort belonging to them. When it's captured it'll be (grey text) Rebels(nation), once I swore an oath to myself in the Lord's Room it became Player Nation.. odd huh?
  13. My old character to become King???

Yeah it's kind of confusing because my old and new characters have the same name... incidentally, I used the export/import character tool in the game so that I wouldn't have to start from level 1 .... the exported save file doesn't seem to contain any reference to previous events.. hmm.

Screenshot is of my disrespectful personal guard:

  15. My old character to become King???

I collected the taxes but my old pal disappeared.. I waited a day and tried again.. hey presto! he's back.. didn't give me any reputation though.. just a cash reward... going to see what else he.. I.. can do
  16. My old character to become King???

The strangest thing just happened to me... I completed the Queen Christina quest line in a previous game then started a new one to try out some stuff... now, I captured Vyborg as my own rebel town and low and behold who is waiting for me in the Lord's Room but my old character?! He is angry that...
  17. Bizarre Save/Load Bug

I entered a battle but needed to leave for real life reasons, I abandoned the battle and quit to the main menu (quit without saving enabled)... now, when I reloaded that save (without closing the game) I was prompted with an angry Fatima calling me a coward for abandoning a battle that I hadn't...
  18. Fleeing from battle?

Really?? I don't see why I'm entitled to join their fights... in the new game I've remained totally isolated and neutral (aside from capturing a city to store my spare soldiers..).

So even if I'm unassociated with a nation they still give me a bad reputation if I walk on by?
