Two criticisms/points from the media,
It is my solemn opinion, that the Arrows are flying too slow. Warband had it about right. --Point 1--.
I do not wish to be too 'picky' about everything, one can assume I like everything else.
Whilst I am commenting, I would like to also remark, that the Town Dog Barking in Warband was most irritating, because it was a 'yappy' dog. It was as if the game has copied my neigbours dog, that I find most annoying, and brought it into the game. This was to the point that my whole Town experience was ruined.
I realise this appears strange, but I am comparing the wonderful bird sounds I heard in this Media to this element of Warband, and it reminded me about this Yappy Dog, that I hope is not included in the Bannerlord.
Lastly, restraining myself from being too picky. > Point 2
It is also my opinion, that the shield wall broke too soon, breaking line to engage the enemy fractions before they hit, and a proper shield wall if programmed into the game, should not do this. From watching the shield wall, on media, it should have held up better, rather than the 'seek and destroy' near targets that you can see happening as soon as the soldiers reach the wall. If it is like the media showed, then one or two companions sent into the line can break it, and then followed with calvary after. A shield wall should not break to engage like the media showed, the shield wall on media turned into a dog's breakfast in a manner of few seconds after engagement. This should not be the case, albeit, it should break a little for realism if under intense pressure. It should hold and attack only those units directly in front, if attack at all. And one or two units break at random if engaged intensely head on to simulate realism of fear and morale. Of course this might be a programming challenge, but I cannot see why it cannot be done better.
This Shield wall action I am referring to is at approximately 8:40 to 8:50. {which has been the only time I have seen the shield wall in employment]
An aside:
Again since, I do not come here and post often, I shall add another issue on my mind and I apologise for adding it to this topic, but I am a busy man, and do not have the time to Plague this forum. That is, in Warband, the player is given favouritism for many things. This game should play as a realistic simulation I feel, and I believe the community seeks the same. One example, and there are many, that annoyed me, {I have another topic about fiefs taken from landed lords and given to me as the new sworn vassal} was that as the 'favoured player' I was given the Prisoners of War, before even the Higher Lords and Kings in the same battle. Short of it is, please remove this player favouritism, because it taints the immersive simulated experience. In a true simulation, the King would take the Prisoners if involved in the same battle, not some ragtag recruit such as me. Again, I apologise for including my two warband criticisms along with this post, in forum etiquette, yet I am sure it is not a grand crime.
