    looking for large mods with diplomacy integrated

    That's quite a list of requirements there, I'm not aware of too many mods that have all those.

    You might try the Floris Mod Pack, though. I think it has all of those except for the large map. (It uses the same map  and factions as Warband)

    I recommend a Xbow to Spearmen ratio of somewhere around 1:0, as the Spearmen are quite underwhelming, even against cavalry. If you can reliably and quickly manage to get the Spearmen promoted all the way to Sergeant, then it might be worth having some (maybe 33%), but you really want to avoid having your army weighed down by Spearmen, who are mostly useless baggage.

    The Kingslayer is still in the 2.5 (sort of). It is now called the Twohanded Greatsword and despite its name, it is a 1h/2h bastard that has the same stats as the Kingslayer did in 2.4. However, it can only be found in Rhodok cities. You will also need to be playing the Expanded version - the Gameplay version does not have the Twohanded Greatsword.

    As for the bow, I don't quite remember which bow it was in 2.4, but I'm quite certain that all the bows that were in 2.4 have statistically identical counterparts in 2.5. I'm not sure whether you need the Expanded version for this.

    Horse perma-death

    I've played around with horses for some time, and it seems that horses have a few rules regarding crippling.

    A horse basically has two 'lives'. Whenever it's KO'd in a battle, there's chance it'll  become lame. If, while it's lame, it gets  KO'd again, there's a chance it'll die for good. This is why you should switch horses as soon as it gets lamed and let them recover.

    The chances of a horse becoming lame after getting KO'd seems to be completely based on chance, and without any regards to how many times in a certain timespan - I've had some horses who crippled the first time it died, and some horses get KO'd a dozen times over a period of a couple days and not get crippled.

    Also somewhat certain that horses with the Swaybacked prefix has only one 'life', meaning that if it's KO'd, there's always a chance it'll die. (Somewhat makes sense, since otherwise you could let a Swaybacked horse get lamed and then nurse it back to a regular horse) Never tried with Stubborn horses, though.

    Suggestions for Implementation within the Mod

    Are there plans for the next patch (or subsequent patches) to change the levels of various troops to more accurately reflect their actual stats and equipment?

    For example, there are some bandits that are weak in terms of stats and equipment, but are very high leveled and give over 200 experience per kill, meanwhile there are some units (such as noble units) that are lower leveled, but have vastly superior equipment and stats. This somewhat skewers a few things, such as autocalc'ed battles (as in, every single battle that ever happens that I'm not a part of), troop wages (I pay more for a bandit than an armored soldier?) and party behavior (I have 50 noble knights, but I get attacked by 50 bandits because the bandits are higher leveled).

    You can just start the siege battle, then immediately hit tab to retreat. You'll take a couple of casualties in the retreat, but all Nords will appear on the world map after the siege ends.

    Is it possible to downgrade Warband from version 1.143 to 1.134? I've downloaded a patch that lets me go from 1.100 to 1.134, but it doesn't work when I'm already using 1.143. (It says that I don't have Warband installed)

    There's the handmade Armet, with 63 defense, which can only be ordered from the armor master. But there's also another helmet called the Armet, which shows up in shops. It has (IIRC) 55 armor, and looks the same as the handmade one. As a shop item, it can have all the modifiers that helmets have. It's sometimes worn by veteran Swedish Reiters, I think.

    You get paid if you're a merc, but you have to go to your king to ask for your pay. (Talk to your King, there will be an option to say 'I humbly request my payment blah blah').

    Just a question: Will this game be available on Impulse? I bought M&B and Warband over Impulse, so I'd prefer to have F&S on that as well.

    Overpowered Khergit Bows

    The tier seven Khergit Horse Archer has 9 Power Draw and a 38-damage bow, so there's no bug in the formula - they're just insanely powerful.

    I totally understand how you feel, I used to play on full damage in native, but now I play with 50% damage just because I can't stand being headshotted for 100+ damage all the time.

    Advice Needed: 'Best' Heavy Infantry

    If you want something easier to amass, try the Mercenary Komtur. He's only tier five, and he has six Power Strike and the Coat of Plates (52 armor). He upgrades to a tier six infantry, but the tier six upgrade is pretty underwhelming.

    The Femme Fatale (Upgrade from Maiden, which upgrades from the Nurses you can find in taverns) also has six power strike and is a tier five infantry. However, her armor isn't as good as the Komtur (42 armor)

    Of the three final tier units you listed, I like the Rhodok best - he has the best armor (56 to head and body) and can get the Military Pick, which lets him chew up other armored enemies. This make him (IMO) the best melee infantry in my opinion. The Kenau is nice (and has 66 HP), but she's also mounted, so she actually costs around the same as a tier seven infantry. And her weapons aren't great.

    And even though you said you wanted shields, I'm still going to mention the Mercenary Doppelsoldner, a tier four infantry with five Power Strike and equipped with some of the nastiest two-handers in the game, including the Ornate Zweilander, a weapon with 55 cut and 160 reach.

    Compnaions to Lords: Do they need Leadership?

    On a somewhat related note, if you were a King, can you boost the renown of your lords by making him the marshal, then immediately replacing him?

    I forgot to add that the only mod I'm using is Diplomacy, and a few tweaks from TweakMB.

    Every so often in the campaign, I would get this message saying that a lord has been indicted by treason. Usually they simply join another faction but so far I have had three instances where the it says the lord goes into exile outside of Calderia. When this happens, does it mean the lord is forever gone, and if so, will he eventually be replaced by another lord, or will this keep happening until there are eventually no lords left in the game?
